I thought Id give the Ghost 16 another try after loving my Ghost 12 and 13. Truth be told, the manufacturer changed these starting with the Ghost 14 and the quality and comfort feel has taken a turn for the worst. Staying with Hoka.

Ive owned a pair of Ghost 13, 14, and 15, and I must say the Ghost 16 is the best version so far. It seems like the Ghost running shoe gets better with each version that comes out! Im strongly thinking about getting another pair of 16s in a different color and this is very rare for me.

Started getting into running a little bit in the fall of last year and just started back up in April. Just a casual runner to be in better shape right now Im running a little over an 5k every other morning. I started with and had the Nike Pegasus 40 before these shoes. Just to be clear I have not had these shoes long and have only done 5 runs in them so far so my review probably doesnt help with how the shoe is in the long run. So far between the two I do like the ghost 16 better than when I first got my Pegasus 40 last year. The ghost 16 feels like a better quality made shoe imo. It doesnt feel too wide or too narrow fits pretty great to my feet actually. If I had to pick something out I dont like about it so far I would say the only gripe about it is my left big toe was rubbing a bit first couple of runs it hurt and bruised a bit but that went away the more I used the shoe. I do all my runs in the early mornings and in this shoe so far Ive only run in temps anywhere between 40 F and 60 F and also 2 of the runs in the rain. You will get your socks wet obviously if you run in the rain pretty sure no running shoe is waterproof but as for the grip in the rain it wasnt much different than you running in dry weather which was nice. So yeah wish I could say more maybe if I remember Ill come back and add to this after wearing it for more runs.

Still the solid shoe I've come to expect, and with the upgraded DNA Foam it's a new, but familiar ride.

generally nice shoe but was bothered by the seemingly expanded volume of the forward part of the shoe compared to the Ghost 15 which are more comfortable....to me at least.....also there seems to be an extra support strip along the outside edge in the forefoot which bothered me in that it didn't allow my foot to settle nicely against ...again, this is just me.....I tried two different colors of Ghost 16 (there is a slight difference in size among the different colors) but neither pair felt good enough to keep....btw I wear them all day and probably walk 20 miles per week in them......

This is a great-looking and functional shoe but runs a touch narrow compared to my other Brooks models, and the 12 mm drop makes that feel even more awkward. The upper is breathable without being really stretchy and unstable. It also looks really nice. A+ The nitrogen-infused foam makes for a nice rice. Soft, comfortable, and lightweight without feeling mushy. A The 12 mm drop makes the transition to the toe feel a bit exaggerated and probably what makes me notice the toebox being a little narrow. That may be necessary with the new material, but who knows. All of this adds up to a little more jarring ride, and a less comfortable fit for a bigger guy that doesn't wear a wide shoe but needs all of the room in a standard width.

These running shoes are incredible. As someone who runs both road and trail I'm always looking for good options for both. These run slightly wide but that worked out to my advantage as most shoes are too tight for me. I've put some serious distance on them and they've not given me a single blister or pain. I like that they are very stylish for running shoes and go with most outfits and I don't mind if I have to stop in an errand with them on. The fabric is breathable and soft which was the icing on top. I wouldn't change a single thing about these shoes and I'll definitely be purchasing again!

The Ghost 16 are my new go to gym, casual, and running shoe! These are so comfortable and breathable. Its surprising how lightweight the material is and how much it breaths. The balance between the cloud squishy feel to support is perfect. I really cant set enough about how much I love these shoes! Ive reviewed other shoes in the past and had ups and downs but these take the cake. They fit perfectly true to size; they arent too roomy where I feel like Im sloshing around, or too tight where my feet are practically loosing circulation. I also really like the style and color scheme. I got a light grey with a light green scripting and sole, theyre arent too over the top but they also dont look like your dads lawn shoes. Again I cant say enough how much I love these shoes. 10/10 would highly recommend!

I jumped from the Ghost 14 to the 16 and prefer the 14 a little more. The 16 feels stiffer all around even after a couple of weeks of wear during runs. I rotate between the two and still prefer the 14. Still, its a great show and I love the design on my 16!

These shoes are some of the best that I have worn in my life. I am truly a convert to Brooks shoes moving forward. I have a slightly wide foot and these shoes worked perfectly for me. There was a day of break-in instead of weeks which is what Im used to. Color scheme is perfect for me and I look forward to wearing them.

Excellent shoes for running. Very comfortable and true to size. I love the mid foot support and notice improvements with my cadence, speed, and heel strike. I am able to complete more miles during my run because of these shoes. They look great and run excellent on different terrains such as; roads, gravel, off road and treadmill. I change up my training frequently and these are too notch. I highly recommend these shoes if you are looking to get some miles in.

The fit of these Ghost 16s is great, full support, with cushion, and the air mesh upper helps to hug my feet while giving plenty of breathing for the feet. The design is simple, nice, exactly how I like it to be. The fabric is like mesh, stretches with my feet and yet feels strong and secure. What I like most is the secure, supportive fit and cushiony feel. I wouldn't change anything about it.

These are a great pair of running shoes! They are comfortable, fit great and perfect for everyday exercise. I mostly wear these for working out, running at the gym and like last night, playing pickleball and they felt great and had good support. Ive gotten many compliments on the style and colors as well. Super happy with these running shoes. They will be my new go-to.

First of all, the design jumps out at you - its beautiful. Its simple enough to wear with just about any outfit when youre out and about. The colors blend well together. Its a really well designed shoe - the fabric is soft on your foot and ankle yet firm enough to provide protection. The cushion is my favorite part. Its extremely soft and your feet never get tired of that. And plus, who doesnt love the additional 2 inches of height it adds? The cushion almost forces you to keep good posture when youre walking, as opposed to being flat footed with some of the other running shoes Ive had. Honestly I dont have a single complaint about it. Its comfortable enough to run in and comfortable enough to walk around town in all day long. Just what I needed!

Fit and cushion feels great right out of the box. Put about 7 miles on them the first night and wore to work a few days later. Overall, I really like the fit and the quality of materials. In my opinion a HUGE step up from the Ghost 14 or 15. My only issue is the super stiff piece of plastic(?) on the back of the heel seems to create a rather inflexible back (heel cup) to this shoe, I had some Achilles tendinitis nagging me on one side after about 5 miles. I dont normally wear a 12 mm drop shoe much these days, so that could be part of the issue. I am going to give them a few more easy runs to try to break them in and sincerely hope that goes away. Not sure why that piece of plastic is there at all TBH, but it does seem to create a very stiff heel backing to the shoe, which I have read about in the professional reviews as well - so just to be aware of that as a potential issue if you have sensitive Achilles tendons. The underfoot transition otherwise feels very smooth and, true to Ghost form, this seems like a great shoe for everyday training miles. I likely will not use it for racing or tempo work as Brooks has far better offerings for those efforts. Overall I really do like the ride - not as cushy as a Glycerin, of course, but it strikes a nice balance for someone who appreciates a slightly firmer ride for training while still having enough cushion underneath. PS - The upgraded softness in the foam/heel/midsole is noticeable especially during easier paces and walking, but then feels somewhat firmer and more responsive during regular pacing.not sure how they made that happen (magic!), but it suits me just fine!

Ghosts have been my go-to shoe for the past 6-7 years. Have run countless 5/10Ks, weekly mileage and 4 half marathons in past versions. Something has changed though. The Ghost 16s are still reliable for shorter runs, but there's a noticeable difference in comfort. They feel less cushioned. I waited to write a review to give them a chance, but at ~120miles in on the 16s, still having the same experience. Unfortunately, may need to leave the Ghosts behind.

The Brooks Ghost 16 has a compelling and attractive look that I look for the most in running shoes. As an avid runner and a person with flexible flat feet, I want running shoes that offer a great deal of cushion and comfort and the Ghost 16 fits the bill. When running, I noticed that my knees did not hurt as much as other running shoes. Also, because of my flat feet, I tend to use my running shoes as around town walkers as well and the Ghost 16 blends in with most outfits and does not look like a clunky huge running shoe. With the amount of activity that my running shoes take - I found upper material of the Ghost 16 to be breathable and durable. If I could change anything about the Ghost 16 I would make the sole a little wider - but I want that with most shoes because of my flat feet. Overall, the Ghost 16 is my go to running shoe.

These are really good running shoes. The fit and feel of these are very comfortable. They provide excellent support on my heel and fore foot strike area. My toes dont feel cramped or bunched up together. The design is clean and sleek and feels understated. The fabric is soft and breathable and I like that the front toe area has an extra plastic shell. The thing I like the most is the extra support on the back heel. I feel like it will keep the back of the shoe in good shape in the long run, even if I keep forcing my heel down every time I put the shoe on. I personally would not change anything but I know some runners like bold colors and a design that stands out so using more of the bright lime green used in the sole throughout other areas of the shoe would have been nice.
