UGH! I've been wearing Brooks Ghosts since 9, and this, the 16, is the first pair that I'm grossly disappointed in--from a comfort and aesthetics perspective. On comparing these to my Ghost 15s, there is a marked decline in quality and materials. I bought the black pair with white sole, and all of the photos on the product page show these sneakers with black laces. You can see in the photo that the ones I got are eggplant colored and look like a mistake. Further, the materials themselves look and feel much cheaper. Quality has been going down for a while now, but this takes the cake. As for fit, I wear a 10W, and the toe box on these is not high enough. The width is okayish, but my big toe is now hitting the top of the toe box. Further, I'm now having some pain under my left big toe metatarsal bone, which has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE WITH ANY GHOST! WOW, I'm so shocked and disappointed. I'm returning this garbage and now I have to find a new brand. Brooks were my favorite--far better than Asics, New Balance or Saucony. I have to hope that those other brands have improved in the interim and I can find something else that's not the Ghost. Tragic!! I'm devastated!

Very disappointing. Color was lovely. Size was small! I've been wearing Ghosts since Ghost 12. Always been happy with roomy toe box. Every year I purchase several new colors because I wear them so often to work, as well as, the gym. How come I can order the same size and style but a different color and then the pair doesn't fit? I believe Brooks QA has deteriorated. Sad.

These are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. I couldn't even make it through my 12 hour shift. I took them off for my drive home.

I have been wearing Brooks Ghost for years. The Ghost 16 totally missed the mark. The sizing is off. I'm always an 8 but in this model, an 8 is too short/narrow in the toe box but an 8.5 is too long. So disappointing, I hope the Ghost 17's go back to their normal sizing.

The Ghost has been my longtime favorite for years until this edition. The toe box material of this shoe felt extra thin and actually provided no support, feeling as though it stretched and was giving way after wear. I have been wearing the Ghost model FOREVER and this 16 edition has me thinking about going to a different brand. Previous models have lasted for a good amount of miles, but these were flat after a few months. Please get back to making 'em like you used to!

Love my older brooks but these were more narrow & uncomfortable

They didn't work for me. I'm not a runner but my crummy feet demand more of a stability shoe, so back they went. I'm still a Brooks fan though.

I have worn Ghost for years but this 16 version was very uncomfortable to me because it is way too narrow in the middle. I have to scrounge around to find more 15's because I could not purchase the 16. I even tried the wide - which I always get. Very disappointing. Please go back to the former fit.

This is my 5th pair of Ghosts, and I don't like them at all. They look big and clunky on my feet. I didn't even bother with comfort or fit, because I plan to return them. I hope the 17s improve whenever they come out, but until then I'm looking for a new shoe.

I and my family of 4 (myself, my wife, and two teenage girls) have been loyal Brooks customers for almost 8 years. My wife and I have been runners for the last 35 years, and a friend introduced us to Ghost Shoes. We have only worn Ghost ever since. So much so that whenever anyone talks about running shoes, we used to say we were a 'Ghost Family.' I am afraid I am inclined not to say that anymore. We might have to look elsewhere for reliability, comfort, durability, and innovation. Things started falling apart for us with small things like no matter how tight you tie the new laces; they come undone. I have had to re-tie multiple times in single-digit temps while running. People sitting in air-conditioned offices designing these laces have no idea how frustrating it feels to re-tie your shoes multiple times, especially in the bone-chilling cold when you do not want to take your hands out of gloves/sleeves. It just takes away your good feelings and concentration. The other major complaint I have is how a shoe that has been designed for running starts to tear apart in many places. These are expensive shoes, and a certain life is expected of them. I have never had any other shoe tear down on me like Ghost (different versions). Historically, most of the time, I had to change non-Brooks shoes for the sole wearing out and not having a good enough grip for running anymore, not for the structure or the fabric of the shoe starting to tear open. I really liked the feel of a new Ghost shoe and enjoyed running in them. But, I am afraid the joy didn't last long. I will now start to look beyond Brooks/Ghost and need to find a new slogan for my family, I guess...

Normally love brooks but these are so tight on my arches

I have been an avid Ghost wearer without issue for many, many years. Unfortunately, the new changes to the Ghost 16 gave me pain on my big toe after just a few runs/walks. I switched back to my Ghost 15 for a few runs/walks and experienced no pain. I am disappointed that I am not able to use the Ghost 16 for runs or longer walks. I love the color, they feel light, but cause toe pain making them unusable.

Says to order one size up and they are way to big. Toe box is very wide and the sole has already started to separate. Very disappointing

So disappointed in the new Ghost 16! I have been wearing and loving the Ghost style for over a decade. They have been my go to but....These are awful, they are small and tight and have a smaller toe box, the foot bed has less cushion, the laces are also very short, my feet hurt after wearing them (mostly sitting around I can't imagine trying to log any miles in them) for a couple hours.

Terrible. Too small, unattractive, overpriced.

Comfort level: cinder blocks For the price of these shoes, there ought to be a lemon law in place, because it's criminal to charge over $100 for such trash. They're like strapping 2x4's to your feet.

Not happy with this one. Don't like the feeling. Feels cheap and not comfortable.
