How many grams did you save with such a short tongue?? On my one and only run I stopped multiple times to try and adjust. I returned them, I am so disappointed

I've been through the Speedgoats 2,3, Evo, 4, 5 and now 6. Evo's were the only truly great experience I had. I keep buying these shoes unfortunately because the outsole geometry is actually perfect. Fundamentally, these shoes lack adequate lockdown, which is imperative with shoes with a high stack height. All versions except maybe 2,3 and Evo have utterly failed me in this respect. Most recently, I spent way too much time adjusting my laces at VT100 in the Speedgoat 6s until mile 31, when I swapped only my left shoe for a retrofitted (Salomon quick lace system) Speedgoat 5. My right shoe seemed ok, so I didn't want to mess with it. I'm actively trying to figure out how to fit a Salomon upper on the Speedgoat outsole and Frankenstein something that will work.

Just tried a new pair in 10.5 and was very disappointed in the fit as compared to the 3 pairs of SG5 I have been wearing. They have been my favorite everyday shoes and hikers. These new SG5 seem shorter- my toes were jammed, my foot seemed to sit higher out of the shoe, the tongue is definitely shorter- the SG5 tongue was short enough. Although the weight is the same in my size, a lot of cushioning seems to have been taken out- soles seems harder. I love the cushion feel that my other HOKAS have and these have definitely changed. Was looking forward to an improvement, or at least the same quality I was loving. They overall feel like a harder, cheaper shoe now. Don't know where to turn now!!

I've been a loyal fan of the Speed Goat series, especially the Speed Goat 5, which finally addressed a long-standing issue for meHaglund's deformity. The soft heel counter in the Speed Goat 5 was a game-changer, offering the comfort and relief that many athletes with this condition desperately need. It was the perfect balance of support and cushioning. However, the Speed Goat 6 has been a massive disappointment. Hoka decided to replace the soft heel counter with a solid plastic insert, which completely undermines the comfort and flexibility that made the previous model so great. I can't help but wonder if this change was driven by cost-cutting measures or a switch in manufacturing processes, but whatever the reason, it's a significant downgrade. The new design feels rigid and uncomfortable, especially for those of us dealing with Haglund's deformity. It's disheartening to see such a great feature being altered so drastically. I sincerely hope Hoka doesn't make similar changes to the Mafate, as it would be a real shame to lose another go-to shoe for comfort and support. Overall, the Speed Goat 6 is a step in the wrong direction, and I'm extremely disappointed with this update.

Love the improved padded tongue on this model compared to the 5s. They do seem a bit stiffer this time around. I've had many speedgoats in the past, 3rd generation and up. Great traction as always with the vibrum soles. I run a lot in the desert and mountains and the traction is amazing. I did roll my ankle is these pretty easily in these so I opted for the 5 midgtx. I think these are best for less technical trails where good grip is needed and good ventilation. I really wish they would make a non goretex mid. Due to the terrain around me I'll probably enjoy the mid more but I'll probably switch back and fourth depending on what I'm running that day.

If you loved the 5 do not buy the 6. Completely different shoe. Tongue is not good. Stiff. Front of shoe folds weird causing pinching. Total let down because I highly recommend the 5 and was excited for an upgrade.

Leaving aside the launch colorway which was an insane decision, the shoe just feels terrible to hike and run in. So stiff and unresponsive. I returned mine and went back to my beat up Speedgoat 4s. Then bought the Mafate Speed 4 which are also great. Hopefully Hoka doesn't ruin those with the next version.

Given that you sell the shoes in adult sizes, it would be amazing if you could offer them also in adult colors. Something boring. Black. Speedgoat 5 GTX black had a nice design (i.e. not screaming "running shoes!"), how about a little copy & paste? Consider this use case: I am travelling for business, and will use this opportunity for running. I travel light and will not be carrying extra shoes just for that. Please let me have shoes that I can take to a meeting. Otherwise, great shoes overall. Having over 7000 km on my two Speedgoat 5 GTX, I will buy another pair - black. And sincerely hope to buy more in the future.

I use this shoe for short hikes and working on tile floors because the speed goat 5 was perfect for both of these activities. After the 4th or 5th day of wearing Speed Goat 6 all of a sudden the ball of my foot just behind my big toe is too sore to even wear it again. I bought the same size 12 Wide as last years model and it feels like the midsole is too hard and too narrow. I would not buy these again.

I have used several Hoka running shoes. This one feels different. Hope it last longer than the previous once (3months) but definitely great for my knees. Comparable to On or Brooks but I have moved on and prefer Hoka only because they fit well and good on my knees

I recently purchased a pair of running shoes with traction from Fleet Fleet, as I frequently play on wet pitches (due to dew or rain). Unfortunately, after wearing them for the first time during a game yesterday, I experienced significant discomfort. The shoes caused severe bruising to my heel, resulting in pain and swelling that has left me unable to walk comfortably. With 12 years of experience in playing on similar surfaces, I have never encountered a shoe that caused such an issue. I had to apply ice to reduce the swelling, but I am still experiencing difficulty walking. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this product to others I wish I could post some pictures here. I even went one size up based on the experts suggestion which didn't help.

These are awesome for mountain running! They hold very secure on your feet and are highly stable and protective. The firmer foam means minimal energy loss when climbing equaling faster, easier climbs. Descending is a blast with plenty of bounce and high mileage protection for the legs. The only area that they may lack alittle is on the flats, but for a shoe named speedgoat, I don't think that is it's intended use case.

It's obviously Hoka is changing directions from what they were to the running community. They have become an Old Navy of the shoe industry. Fans of the speedgoat and hoka need to realize they will be wearing another brand soon. I too don't want it to be but time to take interest in a dedicated trail brand.

I haven't even bought them... actually I just saw them didn't even know that SG 6 was out but to see that they have the same tongue that they had for SG 5 I won't even bother purchasing them...BRING BACK SG 4 PLEASE !!!! Tey just ruined the shoes changing the tongue so badly why??? Did they forget this is intended for ultra running??? I doubt Karl Meltzer is still giving any inputs on these models.. I'm currently injured after rolling my ankle because I couldn't find a way to lace my shoes with SP 5 without having pain and discomfort... decided to lace them up just basic lasing and they became completely unstable. Here on the East Coast is all bout rugged terrain I have never felt a second of concern running with SG 4 the greatest show ever created ...it's so disappointing what they are doing to this shoe so frustrating.

Have had one or more pairs of SGs 2-5 and these are by far my least favourite. The positives are the toe box is a little wider while maintaining good hold in the mid foot and heel and it seems like they might be a little more durable than previous versions. I really didn't care for the new foam which is much firmer and feels to me more like a hiking shoe than a high cushion trail runner. I also had issues with the collar on the outside of the shoe digging into my foot / ankle. Possibly would improve after a longer break in period but if it takes 50+ miles to break in a shoe that seems like a design issue. Sizing wise I think these fit a quarter to half size smaller than the. SG 4 or 5.

Wish I had waited and read some of the reviews before getting these. I was so psyched on the new S6. Like the way they looked, and even when I initially tried them on in the store, I thought, maybe the tongue was short but couldn't be that short, maybe I was just not pulling it up enough. The sole felt great and the overall fit and style I loved. But yeah... the tongue is really too short and not slack for pulling it up. I mean, these are trail shoes, and I want to tie them nice and snug especially at the top to lock my heel in place but the laces literally tie just above the padding in the tongue so it's basically the knot right against the top of my foot. Not ok. Tried them twice and they are unwearable unless I just keep the laces loose. Spent most of the the trail run talking to my wife about how could Hoka make a mistake like that for such an important legacy Hoka shoe. Not sure how these got past the test phase.... is there a test phase before production?

You have made this into just an average shoe. These seem much tighter than previous versions. If you made the Speedgoat 4's again, I will buy 100 pairs! Speedgaot 4! Speedgoat 4! Speedgoat 4!
