This product is great for running. The material on the bottom and on the sides are really goof for the weather and it gives a trusting feeling that you will not slip. I also think the design of the shoe is really nice.

Unmatched Comfort and StyleI recently had the pleasure of trying out the Adidas Ultraboost 21, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations in both comfort and style. Comfort: The standout feature ois its unparalleled comfort. The midsole provides an incredibly responsive and cushioned feel with every step. Whether you're running, walking, or just going about your day, these shoes offer a plush and supportive experience that minimizes impact on your feet and joints.

(Disclosure: I received the Timp 5 courtesy of Altra for review purposes) The new Altra Timo 5 delivers the Brand's trademark 0-drop, wide toe-box ride in a seriously improved package that levels up on style and comfort. I'll admit it, I've not been an Altra fan. I own the Torin 6 and Lonepeak 7, and the two are among my least used shoes. I have a narrow foot, so the wider toe-box never wowed me, and Altra's tongue construction needed some work. That said, the Timp 5 continues to impress me. The vibram sole did great during some recent bad weather, and I found the ride to be comfortable with the right amount of cushion. I like Altra has added a touch of length to the forefoot, making these fit ever so lightly outside of the true to size range. Overall, I think this is a great design choice to combat swelling and toe cramming on downhill trails, plus it allows the option to wear thicker socks, but is worth a heads up to those choosing these for daily or lifestyle wear. On a superficial level, this version of the Timp also looks better, and has some neat additions, like a stronger loop for gaiters. I found myself reaching for these for errands as well, and they'll definitely stay in my rotation since they're proving to be a flexible little shoe.

Love these shoes! I enjoy trail running but I also live in a major city with some slippy, bumpy bricks and inconsistent sidewalks. I thought these were great for both scenarios! They are very light and feel soft on my feet. A good amount of cushion considering they're zero drop. The toe box is roomy and they don't push down on my big toe like other shoes. I'd say true to size in terms of width but I typically wear a 6 and the 7's fit much better. The color is lovely and they look cool.

I've ran 69 miles so far in them and I have no complaints, I'm loving this quality, I really love these shoes so much. Planning to use these shoes for my upcoming 100 miler and I'm beyond stoked.

I received the Timp 5 free for review. I am quite active usually, but over a long, cold gray Michigan winter, trying to keep my motivation is rough. The Timp 5 has me up and moving to test them out in different environments. Super comfortable, yet responsive shoe. I hike in the winter and have worn them a few times on 3-5 miles and I really like them, they are quite sturdy and have good grip. I run a lot more in the warmer months, but have done some short runs in them and I would recommend them.

I received an incentive from #BzzAgent and #Altra Women's Timp 5 sampling in exchange for my honest product review. I've tried Sketchers and Nike and these Altra are by far the best-fitting and most comfortable. I have wide feet and my index toe is longer than the big toe so these shoes feel like they are made for my feet. It had thick cushion that I have good sensation and control. The sole of the shoe has many spikes and thick so it is easy to walk without fear of slipping. It is incredibly comfortable, wide toe base, and is durable. I would love to purchase for myself and my husband also because he has a big wide feet too. Definitely recommend this shoes.

I was very excited when the shoes got delivered and I wear it to go for a run right away. I went to run for 2 miles, my feet feel very comfortable, it fits so well. The design is not only fashionable, but also provides great support for my feet. I highly recommend this Altra Timp 5.

First of all, I love my Timp 5 trail runners because of how comfortable they are, and wore them as my go to sneaker, even off trail. I now have a different Altra shoe as my every day sneaker. The wide toe box is amazing as I cannot wear narrow toe shoes. I like that the shoe has some padding but not enough to make me feel like I'm going to roll my ankle, as opposed to several other shoes. I purchased a second pair that are the purple/periwinkle color. I can wear them all day and not have sore or tired feet. I did have to size up to an 11 with these even though I typically wear a 10/10.5 in women's non hiking shoe. With that said, I also had to size up to an 11 for my Merle Moab boots. Both shoes fit comfortably and allow for the natural swelling after being on trail. My only gripe is that I feel like they wear out easily. The inside of the heel of my first pair wore out in less than a year. On my second pair, part of the rubber sole is separating with minimal use in less than a year. I know that a trail shoe has a limited number of miles before needing replacement, but I wish these had lasted longer. All in all, I love these shoes and will gladly buy them again.

By far my favorites. I've had other styles with the original width (sloppy and to wide). These are perfect for me (standard width). Took a little bit to break in but it's going to be difficult to part with these ones.

Long time Timp 3 wearer and stockpiled a few pairs back then. The 5's seem much narrower and stiffer. I wear Altras because of a bunion and the stiff material around that area is a bummer.

I liked the sole on this - a good medium thickness with good support. Not too soft, not too hard. But the laces are NOT stretchy which is disappointing. And the material at the forefoot folds inward and pnches my feet when I walk.

I bought these a year ago. They are very comfortable for walking/hiking. I bought 1/2 size up and they fit well. My issue is that the glued seams are coming undone.

I have another pair of Altra (Escalante 3) of the same size that are very soft, wide and comfortable. Compared to them, Timp 5 are extremely tight on the front. The textile doesn`t stretch. They are definitely not a good fit for the wide feet. The visual design is great though.

I appreciate the upgrade to a Vibram sole and the issue with the tongue has been fixed, but as others noted, they feel narrower in the toe box. This may be because the lacing doesn't extend down as far as previous versions (see photo for comparison). Also agree with other commenters that the color ways could use improving. Blah or pinkyuck.

I did a 9 mile mountain hike to break these in. The grip is excellent - lots of rock scrambles at the mountain top and I did not slip. And they did dry pretty fast once wet. They are a bit stiff. The older version I bought ~4 years ago was more mesh upper, while these uppers feel more hard plasticy. That's my only complaint so far.

Had to put my Timp4s to rest and purchased Timp5s, which now have about 100 miles of running and hiking on them. Appreciate the upgrade to vibram sole on the 5; however, the upper feels stiffer than the 4 so there was a longer break in time. Also, Altra seems to be narrowing the toeboxes. KEEP OUR TOEBOXES WIDE, that is why we love you (despite your horrible colorways), Altra! Altra is the reason I sacrificed aesthetics for comfort, and my feet have never looked back. I am an Altra fan for life and don't even try on other brands, my feet crave the wide toe box. That being said, I would appreciate an all black shoe- black with hints of blue and teal don't count. Altra finally made an all black lonepeak for men, would appreciate the same. Less is more with the colors.

I've tried the Superiors, Timps, and Olympus and the Timps are my favorite by far - just enough cushioning to feel supported, but not so much that I lose foot feel or feel like I'm running in platforms. Tongue is much improved from Timp 4 (that one was stiff and cut into the ankle until it softened up a bit) - it's cushioned and much softer. Otherwise, the toe box feels more rigid and less comfortable than the Timp 4's. It sounds like a small thing, but I really miss the pull tab on the back of Timp 4's - big enough to loop a finger into easily to slip the shoe on and off while standing. Not a huge deal, but the pull tab on the 5's is small (though still big enough to put a carabiner through, thankfully).

I love that this shoe was upgraded to a vibram sole, my last pair wore down in 100 miles on the PCT, due to the Timp 4's lack of lug depth. I also think I prefer the fit of the Timp 4, these feel a bit narrow in the toe box compared to the 4s. And the tongue kind of digs in weird on the arch of my foot where the shoe laces press it down? Hmmmmm. No shoe is perfect! Overall, I enjoy the shoe and like that they are sturdier/grippier for trail running than the previous model. And I am hopeful the tongue will break in more. Oh and the colors are fun!!!!

I got Timps looking for a trail shoe with more cushion than my beloved Lone Peaks but still with their toe room and grippy soles. At first I was worried since the toe box is definitely more narrow. But a couple trail runs and my feet felt happy and had enough room. Also love that they have a gaiter loop. I put in 50+ miles a week on trails in them and no issues. But the Bloodroot Ultra was the test and they passed!
