Not the same as the version I had before. I buy these all the time bc had foot surgery and about the only thing i can wear. This one felt like walking on plywood and was bringing me inward on my foot bed. Returning and going to try to find the previous version to buy again

I bought these shoes for a Camino walk from Portugal to Spain. We walked 112 miles in 10 days. These were so comfortable and I didn't get one blister. However, now that I'm home and wearing them walking I've noticed that the back of the shoe (at ankle) is coming apart. Very disappointing for the price. I don't think I have over 300 miles on them yet. I would recommend for comfort but not durability

I bought these shoes last fall and have just put them into consistent use since May. I have put between 200-300 miles on them walking and the liners have holes in both heels.
I had fusion surgery for a rigid hallux in March and these were just what I needed to accommodate my swollen foot as I resumed normal activities. The cushioning has also been appreciated as I bring my walking distances back up (20 - 30 miles/week).
However, with the liner going to pieces in both shoes they will not last much longer. I'm quite disappointed.

This shoe was very comfortable for my wife's job as she needs to stand all day, until the heel liner wore out around 5 months of ownership, which caused a rub spot. Altra denied the warranty claim.
We have never worn out a shoe this quickly, especially one that's so expensive. The shoes is tied with lace lock method so heel slippage is not an issue. This seems to be a common issue with this model

I was told these are great shoes for wide toe box. I already have a wide foot(Measure a 6.5 but wear an 8), so I was told to try these. I did the fit finder and it said to get an 8. When I received them they were SOOOOOO Small I felt like I was wearing a size 6.5-7. It was odd, so I sent them back.

I bought these off another site. I have been using torin plush. These are not soft as them, too stiff, too high. Also not as wide. I do not see where these come in a wide width which I need.

This shoe was very narrow and tight on the top of my foot. I have lone peak in wide and they fit great but I need a shoe with more cushion. For a company that advertises as having a wider foot bed Altra sure is starting to have less and less options for people with wide feet. I'm probably going to have to find another brand.

I loved the shoes until they started getting holes in the heel backing . This is my second pair of Altra's definitely like the cushion of the shoe.

Very comfy shoe, loved for road runs. My only complaint is that the fabric uppers on the inner sides of both shoes have ripped away from the rubber soles. It seems to be happening where air flow perforation weakens the fabric. Other than that, they would still be great - but will have to look for more durable shoe.

I wore them for just a couple of days to just walk around & then I went on a jog for nearly 40 minutes & began to have toe pain. It was like my big toe rammed into the end of the shoe but I have plenty of room & they are the same size as my other 4 shoes.

I have mixed feelings about this shoe. I like the way it looks, and they feel okay as long as I'm just standing still. Walking in them is a whole other story. (I can't imagine anyone running in these things.) They're incredibly blocky and stiff; there's absolutely NO movement as I try to roll through my foot with a normal stride. I can wear these for a couple of hours and be fine, but any longer than that and my feet will start to cramp up. There are two pluses, though. For some reason these soles are quieter than all my other Altras. And that's a HUGE plus. All of my previous Altras squeak on our floors, and it's so freaking loud it actually gives me a headache. So I end up having to change my shoes throughout the day, going between what makes my feet hurt and what makes my head hurt. Another plus for these shoes is their extreme stability. If my plantar fasciitis ever comes back, I'll probably go to these shoes first. In fact, I wouldn't recommend these shoes to anyone unless they had PF. (And I'd warn them to take them off frequently to stretch and move their feet.)

I really wanted to like these shoes after doing a lot of research on shoes with wide toe boxes. While they are comfortable, unfortunately they started falling apart 2 months after I purchased them.

Let's get this out of the way: I'm a big girl. I walk at least 10,000 steps every day at my job. I was excited about these shoes because I have wide feet and the extra cushion looked promising. They were comfortable for about a month. At month 2, I noticed a decline in the cushion. I used to be able to rock back and forth when I was just standing because of the slope in the foam, but that quickly diminished after 1 month and the sole is basically flat now. I bought these May 16th, 2024 and have been wearing them 4-6 times a week since then. Not only has the foam padding diminished incredibly quickly, the toe box has collapsed in both shoes and the inside heels are torn. Again, I've had these from May-August. I had a pair of Sketchers last almost 2 years before any tearing had occurred. To say I'm disappointed in this product would be an understatement. For how much I paid? I should be getting way less wear and tear on a product I've had for 3 months.

Like several other reviewers, I wanted to love this shoe but found the midfoot/arch area TOO NARROW.
ALTRA: WIDE MEANS WIDE. It does not mean "wide toe box, narrow midfoot."
As another reviewer said, the midfoot narrows to the point that my arch/instep area is painfully walking *on top of* the vertical hard edge of the sole of the shoe. Whyyyy do shoe manufacturers do this??? Most of Altras styles have some sort of "stabilizing" bar/rail that comes up higher than the rest of the sole (just look at the side view of just about any Altra shoe) -- that rail is what those of us with wide feet are walking on top of. If that bar/rail were moved out another half inch to an inch -- in line with the forefoot/toe box -- it would do what it's intended to do: stabilize the midfoot.
Wide feet are shaped like duck-feet. They don't taper so much in the midfoot (another foot-shaped brand that begins with a T is even worse at this, unfortunately).
What's also strange is the lack of support in the midfoot area. I have low flexible arches, and the last eight months I've been battling plantar fasciitis. I decided to give these Via Olympus a try in hopes of healing the PF, along with a pair of Birkenstock Gizehs for summer. My feet are *loving* the Birks but hating these Altras. Compared to the Birks (after wearing minimally only a couple days), my midfoot in these Altras feels like it's sitting on a suspension bridge that runs crosswise of my foot, with a sag in the middle.
Again, I really wanted to love these shoes, but my feet just won't tolerate the narrow midfoot. Sadly I'm going to have to return them.

This shoe s very narrow in the mid foot / arch area. Unfortunately I did not wear the shoes a lot when I first got them and they're outside the return window. I assumed they would be great shoes because all my other Altria's are. I'm now looking for a hard arch support to put in that will hopefully protect my arch from the hard edge of the shoe digging in. I wonder if the men's version is wider? I wear the Mens Olympus hiking boots for work and love them.
I do love the pink/orange/yellow color combination of this shoe. And I also like the softer cushioning.

I was in between buying Flux and Alta's as I'm trying to find athletic shoes which will accommodate a wider foot and give room to in the toe box for better foot health. I went with Altras because the return policy and company seemed a bit more reliable. I wanted to love these shoes, but unfortunately they hurt my feet, specifically the midfoot area. The toe box is roomy but the area where my midfoot hits is too narrow. I normally wear an 8W comfortably in most shoes. So I bought an 8.5 to size up in this brand just in case. I read another review with the same issue in the midfoot/arch area. I should have listened to the reviewer. When I first tried them on I thought maybe it would just be a matter of breaking them in. But I've worn them several times now and I'm still struggling with wearing them comfortably for long periods of time. Everything else with the shoes fit fine, but this one area keeps me from recommending them to anyone with wide feet.

The material in the heel of this shoe is of poor quality.
After a few months of wear it's completely deteriorating.
Sent a warranty claim and was denied.
Have many pairs of Altra's with more hours on them that don't come close to how bad these are.

Loved the width and cushiony feel. However, my bunions were really sore after wearing them. Bunions need room, but they also need some firmness in that area to keep them stable. I also found the stack height to be too much for the treadmill.

It feels like I'm running on platforms. The Altra Torin Plush was proof that a shoe could have wonderful cushioning without having too much shoe under you. The Via Olympus 2 APPEARS to have a lot of cushioning, but it's still oddly stiffer (and much taller) than the Torin Plush was. It's a slight improvement over the cushioning in the current Torin 7's (which I own), but the BULKY stack height was disconcerting enough to make me need to return these. And the current colors to choose from?! It's like your designers chose the color palette from the Easter Peeps section at the grocery store... nothing but pastels and a token dumpy all-black reminiscent of food service footwear. Remember the runners you used to market your shoes to? Not all of us are treadmill warriors... some of us still run OUTSIDE. Sometimes through RAIN PUDDLES. These pastel nightmares would simply look gross after a week of running in the Pacific Northwest winter. You used to offer navy and a darker teal color... what happened to those choices? Even black with white or teal or gray accents would be nice.
ALTRA: PLEASE BRING BACK THE TORIN PLUSH. Maybe call it a different name if needed - I don't care. I'm stuck with the current Torins, but they're just not as soft as the plush version was. And the Via Olympus 2 is proof that jumbo marshmallow stack height does NOT equal cushioned feel underfoot... so much so that I returned them because I found the bulky stack height disconcerting.
The great thing is that you had already made the Torin Plush, so it's not like you'd have to go back to the drawing board with new technology that may or may not be an 'improvement'. Dust off the specs and put them back into production. It's that easy. Please and thank you in advance from a long-time Torin devotee.

Altar sent me this free sample through the BzzAgent sampling program. These shoes are very unattractive in both shape and color! The box was unnaturally wide (and I normally prefer wide shoes) and was too short for my toes. The cushioning was very comfortable. They also ran slightly too large.

High arches, high insteps, hallux limitus (big toe arthritis) mean I need a wide toe box. Podiatrist had recommended Altra but so far only LP Alpine fits, no others Altra advised. Frustrating.

They are terrible running shoes. No arch support. The material is gross. These are loud, I can hear my footsteps over my earbuds. Not worth the money!

apparently Altra has been bought out by VF Outdoor, LLC and what I've noticed is that when I access the Altra website now I can only stay on it for a minute or two before the fan on my computer starts to go crazy. I'm thinking that the site is now working overtime planting cookies on my computer. I'm forced to quickly close my browser in order for it to stop. It's frustrating enough that I no longer want to go to their website to get my shoes.

I have had 15 different pairs of Altras through the tea but the quality and customer service has gotten so bad that I'll be looking for another brand. With this specific pair the fabric and cushioning material on both inside heal areas have worn out and exposed hard plastic within 4 months. I haven't worn these shoes near enough for this type of wear. They are completely unusable now. I love how Altra shoes fit my feet and would love to keep wearing this brand but I (and most people) will not keep spending money on shoes that don't even last 6 months. This seems to be a common problem with this particular shoe but my warranty claim was denied anyway.

Shoes are ok. 9.5 fit too small 10 too big. Customer service and returns are horrible. I am still waiting for a refund and it has been almost a full month!
