I recently had a knee replacement, and I am beginning to get back into fast paced walking and slow jogging. I've had a lot of trouble trying to find different types of sneakers that didn't have so much impact on my surgical knee that were wide enough to fit my feet. I tried these and theyre amazing. I had no foot, leg or knee pain. I have double wide feet and the fit was perfect. They were not snug or too loose. This is the perfect sneaker!

The wide toe box makes these shoes one of a kind. the level of cushion takes it to the next level. I have purchased 3 pairs and honestly - if I could afford more, I would. Pros: easy to launder and wash; max cushion, wide toe box (no squished toes) and love the colors. Cons: heels wear out pretty quick. Cost. But I will continue to purchase these.

I love these for easy runs after a long training week. The cushion doesn't feel heavy and the rocker is great. I normally run in the Escalante's, so I like the original foot bed. The one draw back for me is the lacing system on these. You can't get the laces tight because all the fabric bunches up and then my foot slides over the edge of the shoe when I'm going around corners. I wish this had the same lacing system as the Escalante which really lets you lock in your foot and feels like a glove.

I absolutely love this shoe regarding its support and room for my toes. The downside is the fabric on the Achilles area wears very quickly revealing the inside foam. I have not had this issue with other Altras.

I have bought three pairs of shoes in the last 5 weeks. This is the best by far. However, I also bought another pair of Altras that I did not like as well. It's guess work to find the correct shoe.

I love the height of the toe box and the upper material, but, I would like it if someone at Altra could explain how they determine the toe box size. These "originals" are narrower than my "standard" Torin 7s.

These are the most comfortable and most supportive pair of shoes I have ever owned. I just wish there were more color options available!!

love the toe box of these shoes, the only ones i've found without any pinching. but caution if your ankles pronate internally, there is not a lot of support on the inside sole of these shoes.

I needed a pair of walking sneakers that had a stiff sole, lots of cushioning, and fit my custom orthodics; these fit the bill. I only wish they provided more stability. My foot doesn't feel as stable as my last sneakers which had a somewhat flared sole. Lots of toe room without having to get a wide so that's a plus too. Also, had plenty of color choices.

I was a big fan of the Torin.Had many pairs and loved them! It used to have the original footbed. Then they changed the Torin 7 to a thinner, less wide footbed that they now call "standard". Well the standard footbed pinches the sides of my feet after wearing for a few hours. I was so sad like many to know my favorite sneakers are now made for skinny feet only. I tried the Olympus which has the original footbed and the foot bed is great but the sneakers are bulky and high. They also have a harder fell underfoot then my beloved Torins. Then they made th Olympus 2 which is supposed to have a softer feel so I ordered them. They are a little softer underfoot and I am wearing them but they still are clunky and big. I wish they would bring back the original Torins!!

This shoe is the same width and wide toe box as my Paradigm 4's (the greatest shoe they ever made and I can't part with them). Overall these are comfy but not super supportive & don't fit in OTF rower

I only wear these to walk my dog three times a day or for long days of errands. I had plantar fasciitis and have small feet with high arches. The shoes are wonderful! However the lining inside the heel has worn through after only four months.

I got a scan and fitting at Fleet Feet after experiencing a lot of pain and numbness in my previous shoes. I've done plenty of work out runs, plus a 10k and half marathon in these shoes with no issues. The width is great since my feet run a little wide, and the stores have been good for training on concrete.

I love the sneakers! I wear orthotic inserts. I normally wear a 9.5 I have to purchase a size 10 to accommodate the inserts. Looking forward to purchasing 2nd pair.

This is a great road shoe. 10 mile runs on the regular and no leg or foot pain whatsoever. They are a little funny looking, but that shouldn't matter when you have those long runs and need that extra comfort. They are maybe overkill and somewhat cumbersome for the treadmill or short runs, but are very comfortable to stand in. The only reason for 4 stars is that the glue is very visible where the soles are and I'm not sure how long they will hold together.

I love the original foot shape and the wide toe box. Also nice to have extra padding underfoot. But the color choices are terrible. How about navy or dark gray without icky trim colors?

This product is great for people with wide feet, the comfortability of the wide toe box is amazing. To add on, whilst running the shoe feels light and airy, but after a while, due to the height of the platform, the stability felt in the ankle starts to lessen and the shoes begin to feel heavy, and start to drag.

I received the Alta Running US Women's Olympus for free to try and review. I used them to walk and run. My first impression was how comfy and cushioned they are. Fit true to size. I have had knee surgery and arthritis in my knees, these shoes felt so good on my knees,

Received shoes for a review: love that they're lightweight. O my issue I had with my flat feet, the arch support hurt after a while. The wide toe box is chef's kiss for my wide feet. Best width ever!

Have tried two models so far - they would be perfect except that both models have an issue with the outer portion of the inner sole on the left shoe. Digs into the lateral side of my left foot.

I have two brands of shoes that I run in, Altras and NB. I have the Torin 7 and 8, these, and Lone Peaks 8 & 9. My NB are 1080's. I bought the Via Olympus 2 for the max cushion for my long runs, hoping they would feel as cushioned as my NB 1080. But they are not, they are hard and it feels like run with bricks on my feet. After a 7-8 mile long run my feet are so sore when I wear these. I'm going to look at a different style of Altras to see if I can find a cushioned one that matches the NB 1080.

I love these sneakers for walking but none of my Altras have held up over a year. I just looked up my purchase history of this pair and it's been one year to the day exactly. Walking (no running) on pavement and gravel trails. Approx 10K steps per day. The soles have completely broken down. Not sure if this is the expected life of a pair of sneakers but considering I wore a pair of Birkenstocks for 10 years before replacing them I'd say materials are just not built to last, like everything these days.

I've been wearing these for over 10 years since my toe replacement surgery and they have been phenomenal. They aren't what they used to be though I have 10 pairs every color. They are wearing out faster and faster. I walk 5 miles a day and I golf in them And I used to be able to count on these for six months now I have to replace them every three months something has changed.

I really wanted to love these. It was the third pair of Altras I tried out, to replace my old worn-out Torin Plush which I loved. The new Torins and the FWD Via were both too tight. A customer service chat suggested these. The fit was great, the cushioning was the level I wanted, but the arch was painful. I've never had a painful arch in an Altra, so I don't know what's up with these. Sadly, I had to return them. And now I'm out of options, since very few models have the original footshape anymore - the main thing Altra was known for and what led me to them in the first place. I don't understand why these shoes have strayed so far from the original goal and I've had to start my search over again unfortunately. I really hope Altra returns to its original mission as I've had so many great pairs of shoes from them in the past. But for now, after trying 3 pairs of Altra, one off-brand that had great reviews, and one other TOPO, the closest thing I can find is the TOPO Phantom in WIDE. Hope that helps someone else who is having trouble fitting in Altra shoes now, as there seem to be a lot of us.
