Got these for Christmas- They are replacing a similar pair that are more than 30 years old which were go to for wet/muddy or light snow, first time i wore them needed to tighten the leather lace and it broke and needs to be replaced, have not delt with this yet as it happened today . Will mostlikly call them and ask for a new leather lace

I already have the 6" Bean Boots, and the Bean Gumshoes. These Moc's have a very different fit. I got tired of the aggro with the sizing and returned them. I wish Bean would convert to standardized sizing. The guesswork regarding sizing becomes tiring!

The boots looked great and well constructed. The sizing was the problem. The notes said to purchase one size down from your normal size, which I did. They were still too long. I'm not sure if another half size down would have done it, because they no longer had the that size available. Listed the width was normal because width was a required field, but don't know for sure because the length did not fit

They are fine for what I use them for, brief trips to the yard to tend the bird feeders, and quality made. I don't like the way they lace up. Rather than the conventional way, the lace goes around the heel and really only has one strand going across the front concentrating pressure there uncomfortably. I normally where 9 1/2 but in these that was too large, the 7 1/2 fit.

Ridiculous sizing. There's a difference between a "unique fit" and the design of this shoe. The heels are far too wide. I usually wear a 8.5, and even in the smallest men's size available (a 7), it took wearing 2 pairs of thick wool socks to make it fit correctly. That's fine in the dead of winter, but I really would want this shoe to be versatile fall, winter, and spring. I understand needing to wear a thicker sock with them (say a lighter wool), but with just one sock on they were too loose - an obvious problem for a shoe that will naturally loosen up with time. An insole made my foot not fit into the shoe properly. After ordering 3 different sizes, I've given up for now. It seems to be a recurring issue to the point that I've read reviews of men go into women's sizing (same exact shoe, just different sizes). I will look into this but only after I've had the opportunity to visit a physical store and try on sizes personally rather than guessing. Great classic shoe and good quality, but really missed the mark in sizing.

I really wanted to love these shoes ... I normally wear a 12, and even following the suggestion to order a whole size down, I eventually returned a 10.5 because it just didn't fit tightly enough to prevent the heel from slipping when I walked.

This shoe was three sizes smaller than my regular shoe size and didn't fit.

The heel section is too wide for a normal sized foot. It should be tapered for a more snug fit. My heels pop out and make walking difficult with the weight of these shoes

Purchased Bean boots ( zipper ) for my son last fall in size 10 M, and even though he's a 10 & 1/2 EE, they fit pretty well. The rubber mocs, however, in size 9 1/2 M, were too long and too low in the heel. No way would they stay on his feet. Too much trouble and too costly to keep sending them back for different sizes, so sadly had to return. I wished we lived near an LL Bean retail store since these mocs IMO are hard to fit.

Even though I bought the shoes a size smaller, they are so stiff that they don't stay on my feet.

I bought these a while ago and was never able to figure out how to tie them so you could slip them on and go. The tongue presses on the top of your foot which is very uncomfortable. They need to rethink this design.

Returned first pair and reordered smaller size. They are still too big but husband refuses to left me send back again. I also ordered a pair for me. I ordered a whole size smaller as advised. Hope mine fit better or I'll return and not reorder!

These boots are everything you'd want in a waterproof shoe: well-built, comfy, and durable. But, don't buy these on line - go to a store where you can try them on. The sizing is nuts; Bean recommends one size down from your usual size, but I guarantee they'll still be too big. Two sizes down is a good starting point especially for the wide width. It shouldn't be this much of a crapshoot to get the right size, come on LL Bean, get it together!

I have been buying Bean Hunting boots for 40 years. Greatest boot for sneaking and slipping up on deer. Good for muddy situations. The boots have evolved little but outdoor recreation has evolved. Time to add speed laces, Bean used to offer the "bob" sole, bring the bob sole back. It is time to offer replaceable insoles including an insulated insole. Can there be an insulated booty insert? Maybe have options on the insulated booty such as 200 grams or 400 grams of thinsulate.

On device from the rep for ll bean I ordered a whole size smaller which was the right thing to do even with that the shoes are still slightly too bid with the right shoe being larger than the left and attempting to snug them up by tiring the strings tighter only helps somewhat I kept them because of the fear a size 9 wound be too small

My only complaint about this shoe is the heel on the sole is so narrow. I've been close to rolling my ankle too often with these shoes.

This work but I am on my second pair after exchanging the first and they are still way too big.
I wear a 10 sneaker, 9 loafer and a 9.5 shoe, almost always. I am down to a 8.5 in these after exchanging them and they are still much to big. I will have to go down at least a half and maybe a full size to get this to fit. So finding the size appropriate for me has been challenging.
I wear medium wool socks - not dress sock thin, not mountain hiking thick.

I should not complain about the weight and stiffness of these shoes because those issues are only indicative of them being well made and made to last. Still as an older man with tender feet, I might have to find someone to break them in for me. I had ll bean boots for years as a young man but don't remember the discomfort of stiffness.

I downsized from my normal 12 1/2 mens wide to a 111/2 wide per your instructions, boots flopped around on my feet, returned them for 11 wide, new boots still flopped around and gave me a blister om my diabetic feet, so I have given up on this product, returned boots and asked for a refund. Too much work for Ill fitting boots.

I'm down to the smallest size that comfortably fits my foot size, but the shape of the heel makes it impossible for the mock to stay on. It will fall off if I'm sitting, or I can walk out of it.
