Believe them when they say there is an entire size difference btwn what you wear and what you should buy!!! I was wary b/c bunions make normal sizes uncomfortable; but I should have dropped a whole size, not a half size. Not clear to me why they do this.

In a lot of ways these are a 5 star product. But the fit for me is challenging. So they are a 4 star, that I love like a 5. They are the ultimate slip on and off while you have stuff in your hands garden shoe. Perfect dewey mornings and all day. The moc style retains less heat than any other waterproof or rubberized shoe I've had. I love that. No swamp feet. The rubberized base and elevated heel have also been amazing while hose and brush scrubbing a basement and garage floor. And they have been surprisingly comfortable even hours in to walking around in them.
However, these are not a natural fit for me, but I'm making them work. I wear a mens 11 or 10.5/ depending on the shoe/boot fit. I have fairly narrow feet, medium arches, and am a super pronater. These really aren't the fit for me. They are wide and floppy, and while the insert is supportive in the arch, they aren't designed to keep pronaters feet and ankles up right.
So I got a size 10 and it was completely floppy on my foot and thought no way. But I have been able to break them in and make them work. You must use the moc laces. Tighten them pulling from the back to front and pulling them tight. Where them around for a day, stretch things out, and tighten again. These have really broken in and I've been able to tighten them enough to conform enough to my feet. I love them! But wish the fit was a little more natural for my feet.

Mike and his crew did a wonderful job on the mocs!
I always order 1 and half from my normal shoe size. Works to perfection.

I have written the last 3 years to Bean asking that they make a shearling lined Moc. No response. They made it for women. It would be a very nice addition!

Updated version of a classic. This is my 3rd pair in 40 years. Fit is difficult due to the lacing pattern. Missing is the fleece (?) foot bed lining that used to come with the shoe. Durability: to be determined.

Bought a pair for my husband who needed a quick easy slip on when going outside in wet or slippery Michigan weather. Hard to find shoes that work for him as he has high arches and limited motion.
There was a disclaimer when buying the shoes about sizing and I thought I followed the direction but if wearing regular thickness socks the shoe is too big. If wearing thicker socks, golden. Will draw the laces tighter to see if that solves the foot flop problem.

I've had three pairs over a 20 year period. Great for spring and fall out in the yard or fields. Not great for very cold weather. Sizing is crazy large. I wear a 13 in every other brand. an 11 is a little loose for me in these things.

I bought these to replace Bean boots used for many years and worn out. The mocs fit differently and I find my heal slightly slipping out vs. the boot. I downsized to 9 from a normal 10 to 11 shoe and sneakers. This is not a big issue if you downsize enough but takes getting used to.

Have had these rubber mocs now for almost 1.5 years. Just noticed that the threading has ripped and the back leather of the shoe has ripped apart. I use these shoes to walk every day in a grass field that is always damp. But I am about to order another pair.

I finally had to replace my 20- plus year old Mocs. I ordered the size recommended by the fitting chart after speaking to customer service. I called them because my old Mocs were size 10 and the recommendation was size. The 12's were too big, so I returned them for 11.5, still a little large, but I'll keep them.

A fine product , but they ran too large. In my normal 13EE the shoe was too big. 12EE was the ticket.

This is my second pair of Rubber Mocs. They are comfortable and easy on and off. My only dislike about these shoes is their width. By the time I tighten the laces enough to keep them on my feet the tongue of the shoe wads up. It can be uncomfortable.

I have been looking for my "duck shoes" for years. They are exactly as what I remembered! Due to a foot injury years back, the right shoe rubbed painfully despite trying out different sizes and thick socks.

The quality workmanship is there. However the "chain tread" is MUCH too shallow. They wear out too quickly.

Sizing is weird. I almost always need 9.
For this crazy shoe I'm wearing 7.5!!! A 7 might have worked better.

The reviewers in March 2024 all make good points. The boots are a little loose in the heel even when worn with thick socks. Just don't expect to climb a mountain in them. Stick to slogging around in the street, the yard, or a field. They are very comfortable, functional, practical for light duty walking/working. The updated footbed allows for more control to help compensate for the loose fit. But do heed the sizing recommendations. Order a full size down, and get yourself some soft, heavy socks. The materials and the construction? : Superb and classically keeping with the Bean legacy.

Loved the usual expected quality but not the style. I returned them and bought bean gum shoe boots as I had a previous pair for over 35 years. The only reason I replaced the boots was because the soles were warring out

First off, I really like the look of these. They're so weird I love it. I just don't understand the sizing policy though. I ordered 1 size down and it was still too big. I always wear a wide and got that here too, and they were a good width, but my foot kept coming out the back every step. I had to exchange to size down 1.5 so that issue is solved, but now they're a bit too narrow at the toebox. I gave up and am just dealing with it hoping they stretch a bit over time though I'm not counting on it with rubber. Great for quick trips outside in rain/mud/snow without lacing up boots, which is exactly why I got them, but not something I can wear for a long period of time sadly.

Be careful, this design is so old I think it's time for an update. Notice how high and narrow the heel is with no ankle support, this results in lots of "roll-overs" that can become a bit painful, they are also provide little to no arch support and become uncomfortable to walk in for any length of time. Getting the mail, firewood, shoveling a small amount is all they're good for. Don't expect to be able to take a walk in them.

Well the good is they seem well made so far and the tread is ok when it is new for the ice / mud. They do not leak. The things I wish were different are mostly that I am not sure how well the tread will wear, the heel is somewhat narrow so they roll a bit and the tongue is on the outside so the way the laces tie is weird / uncomfortable. They are kind of garish but they were on sale so, you know... I purchased a size 13 and was able to tie the leather laces to account for my narrow feet. I use it for daily chores with animals in the yard / field / barn in Virginia. They are lighter than my boots and not as slippery as Crocs. They seem to be well insulated from the cold ground. I have not walked out of them yet in the mud but I think that is coming as you can either tighten them so they stay on or let them be a bit looser to let you slip them on and I usually like to slip them on.
