I usually wear a size 6W or 6.5 - 7. I tried on both the 35 and 36 in this style and ultimately went with the 35 (I have two other pairs of Birkenstocks in this size). For both pairs, there were some minor visual scratches (not actual dents) in the leather. However, I used Collonil Leather Gel (I use this on my designer handbags to clean and protect leather) and that helped to make the leather a consistent color. Before you think there's something wrong with the leather / quality, I recommend treating the leather. I have only worn these around the house to break them in and so far they are comfortable. Looking forward to see how long these hold up for.

I would love to have several pairs of Gizeh in the big- buckle style. However, unless you have a very high arch or a chubby foot, the strap across the instep will be too long. If you punch another hole in the strap and put the buckle in that hole, you will pull the T-strap off-center. Finally, I think the high-shine black leather looks like plastic, not leather.

Perhaps they would relax with some wear; however within 5 minutes I had a blister forming on on one of my right toes.....Not for me.

The fit and size was perfect. Didn't love the white sole or the gold buckle as much in person as I did from viewing the picture.

These sandals are super cute! I would say they are true to size and can’t wait to wear them out! I can’t say yet how comfortable they are because I haven’t worn them much. I’m very happy with my purchase!

I've owned 6 pairs of gizeh birks previously, but these black and cognac are my first big buckles. Reiterating other reviews, these are 1. NARROWER than other Birks/Gizeh (i have borderline wide feet, but dont quite need wide shoes), 2. STIFFER than usual out of the box and 3. The toe piece rubs and hurts at first. Typically I grab my birks for farmers markets and errands, but due to the above reasons I'll wear them only for shorter excursions like dinner out now and I need to exchange one pair for the regular buckle gizeh. Bottom line: Cute, but not fitting like other Gizeh sandals.

I've loved the Gizeh for years. The big brass buckle on this version looks great against the oiled leather. The footbed, which in this big buckle model is a dyed leather instead of suede, is hideous. A total style mismatch with the oiled leather straps. Another reviewer noted that the footbed dye stained her feet. I'm keeping the shoes and hoping that the leather in the footbed will be worn to a patina asap. Hey, Birkenstock, don't mess with the suede footbeds!

Cute but just too clunky and overwhelming for my short toes.

I've loved Birkenstocks for years, but unfortunately, the fit is still off for me. The raised edges and insole do work well for my feet. I am so disappointed as this is a gorgeous, versatile sandal. It's absolutely beautiful in person.

I love the big buckle style! Wish they had more silver buckles available.

The 38s are exactly the same length as my older 37 Gizehs, and narrower in the heels. So narrow they hurt, sadly. I don't have super skinny heels, but I have never been made to feel like I have fat heels!? they seem to fit in pretty much all med. width shoes, and in reg. old Birks. These are really adorable; not sure I can go back to the old Gizehs after seeing them. What the heck with the new footbed?? I really wish they fit.

For me the only negative in the big buckle is the footbed. Maybe I haven’t worn them enough, but the foot beds are squeaky and I’m not a fan. I really love the look of them.

This is my second pair of Birkenstock Gizeh. I like that they don't buckle the shoe for me so I can get it fitted how I want it. The suede is still getting used so it will take a while to get softer. Its comfortable and colorful and can't wait to use it all summer.

This was really uncomfortable between my toes and only on one foot. Such a disappointment because these shoes are really beautiful and otherwise comfortable!

TTS (if you know your size - I find I must order a full size down). Lovely color. Comfortable as always.

They do take some getting used to. Insoles are nice, smooth leather. Finally, after years of sweaty and smelly suede insoles. I hope Birkenstock will make a lot more styles with the smooth leather insole. I ordered a second pair in black. The first black pair they sent were defective. I called Zappos and they are sending a replacement pair. Defective pair is being returned. The cork was crumbling behind the heel area. The first pair that I bought about a month ago is now having an issue with the white sole coming apart. Hopefully a bit of Superglue will fix it. I wear these as summer slippers in my home and in my back yard on my patio. Once you get used to them (I haven't worn them in many years) they really are very comfy!

These fit smaller than all my other Birkenstocks. Still deciding if I want to keep them (and hope they fit better when broken in) Because the style is so cute!

They say that this shoe runs narrow but it's not narrow enough for those who are a true AA or AAA. It's a super cute shoe and I love the hot pink but I sent them back and ordered the Arizona narrow in hot pink and kept those instead.

These are so cute! The buckle on my right foot rubs a sore spot, but I believe that will go away once they are broken in some more because my other Gizeh’s don’t do that . Fun color too.

I REALLY wanted these to work. But I have VERY narrow feet and while I see how some with slightly narrow feet could wear these, sadly, I cannot. I had to pull the strap all the way to the smallest opening and even then I could have gone tighter. Now the strap is buckling from being pulled so tight. So these will have to go back. They are SUPER cute and my husband even commented that he liked these best.

It’s a beautiful shoe but I did end up returning it. The toe strap was very stiff and hurt when I walked. Since I didn’t know how long it would take to wear down to the point where it would be comfortable, I decided not to take the gamble. I’ve been wearing Birkenstocks for years. This is the first that I’ve had to return due to comfort.

loved the color and comfort of the cork footbed. The wider strap was not flattering. The toe bar hit me in the wrong spot. I ear an 8 and the 39, recommended, was too big overall for me.

Absolutely love this sandle. Color is awesome, fit is great....however, if you have shorter toes this style is not a good choice. The toe strap is too wide. Couldn't see much of my toes and was worried the strap might rub the tops of my toes. I was really bummed I had to return. Arizona style is a much better choice if you have shorter toes.

Although the sandals are wonderful, the soles seem too bulky and I feared I might trip with them

They take a little breaking into but have great support. I have wide feet and they fit good. I am happy with my purchase.
