I love this Sweater Fleece. Sadly I have to return it because it runs small. I would definitely order one size larger.

Ok so I have ordered several coats from different websites and even a few from here all to return them in disappointment. I am 3x plus sized, and apple shaped and this coat is perfect! I get hot easily and this doesn't over heat me. It's not stiff and I have room, not too much or too little. The fabric doesn't feel cheap. The cut is as flattering as it can possibly be and the zipper works great. Another thing is if you have bigger arms like me and have a hard time finding sleeves long enough, this coat won't disappoint you. They're actually a little long but I like that. There's also plenty of arm and back movement. It's a flexible coat and one I'll be buying for as long as LL bean makes them! I give 4 stars because my ONE complaint is LLBean PLEASE make more color choices for plus size! Why stop at grey and black for us? I would have ordered an olive green over black any day if I had the option! Thanks :)

I wanted to keep this so badly. I love the weight , the quality, the length, the colors. BUT, it is way too fitted. I prefer loose clothing.

Love the fabric but this does not allow for wearing much of anything underneathSadly, I returned it. I don't think a larger size would help. I feel this is a 'jacket, and as such, it should easily fit over a light to medium weight shirt-this fits just a bit too tight.

Sent it back. Made for tall thin people which I'm not.

I've owned a few of these over the years and LOVED them. I left my old, creamy heather colored sweater fleece coat somewhere and missed having it to run errands and walk on cooler days. I bought the green in XL, because I like it a bit roomy around the hips (in pants I wear a 14 or 16.) It was a little tight and the color is drab and I returned it. If they start carrying the oatmeal heather again I will give it a try. But, honestly, I've had to return the last 3 or 4 items I've purchased, including fleece vests and a down jacket. Maybe they've changed where their clothing gets manufactured, but in my opinion, the quality of their clothing has gone downhill. It's unfortunate.

I like the length and the two way zipper, however it is not as warm as the jacket version that I purchased several years ago.

This coat is thoughtfully designed in multiple ways. I chose it for the coverage, hood, and zipper pockets. Here's how it could be better: 1) align the sizing with other Bean products. I normally wear a medium in Bean. I needed to exchange for a large. 2) Don't skimp on pocket design!! The pockets should be fleece-lined! Other Bean fleece jackets have fleece pockets. Whose bright idea was it to put pockets with no warming ability in a fleece coat? And spend the money to sew the pockets down! They should not be flapping around inside the garment. I expect better quality from Bean.

Odd fit. I have a short one and love it although don't like the pilling. This longer version fit quick and wasn't what I wanted once I tried it on because of the fit.

Love the fabric and the fit through the body is enough for a light layer. However the sleeves are so narrow that you can't get a layer underneath, so all you can wear is a tank top. And no, my arms are skinny not fat. Why did you make the sleeves so tight?

The color was nice but it was straighter than I thought it would be. The hood is also big. I ordered a petite large but should have ordered a medium.

The jacket is a very nice length. It is not bulky at all. The biggest drawback is the zipper. It is very hard to pull up and down. I don't think it's because of the newness either.

I already have 4 of this from a few years ago and I love them. I decided to order this color and don't know what happened, It's smaller and the material is 1/2 the thickness of my other 4. I returned it. Such a shame.

I returned this item as I did not like the way it fit.

It was way too small. I returned it. The sleeves came way up on my wrist. I could not wear a shirt with it.

Love the coat. The zipper is horrible. It is hard to get the zipper to line up and if you don't , it won't zip.

The coat is a good fit, attractive, great pockets, warm for the pre-winter season. However, after wearing it for just 2 weeks, it has started pilling on the sleeves, in the front by the pockets, and above the pockets. Makes it look old and tatty. I will continue to wear it because I need a longer jacket/coat sort of garmet to get me to winter weather. Because of the extensive (after 2 weeks) pilling, I probably won't wear it again after this season.

I purchased this a month ago and wore it three times. I think it would be well-liked by others, but the sweater texture was not what I expected (not because of the description, but my interpretation). I regularly take my measurements, as I'm trying to lose weight. The size I ordered should have been larger/roomier than a fitted look for me. It was not. It could have been this specific garment, but the measurements did not feel true to size. I wanted to like it.

I found that the fleece stuck to my clothes such that it was hard to put on. I now realize that I prefer some kind of lining that will slide over my clothes. I was wrestling with it to get it on and in place.

The large fit exactly the same around the trunk of my body as the medium. However, the sleeves were long enough for a 6'3" man.

I love this sweater jacket! It is comfy, warm and fits well. However, I cannot rate it more highly because I am having trouble with the zipper. When I contacted customer service, they told me to rub the zipper with waxed paper - but I don't think that will do the trick as the problem is that the bottom portion of the zipper does not seem to sit properly and the two left hand parts of the zipper do not seem to be able to receive the right hand part in order to zip up the zipper about 60% of the time!

Three stars because of the sizing problem. I would otherwise give it five because it seems like a really nice item. Usually I am swimming in LL Bean clothing, have gone so far as to order extra small to get it to fit, so I expect things to be cut big, because they always have been. So I was very surprised when this item, size small, arrived and was too tight. I'm writing this review to warn other ladies about this, because I had to return it and ended up paying $6.50 (return postage) for the privilege of trying on an item for one minute. If the sizing is going to be radically different for one item from other sizing, it should be noted in the description. I was afraid to order a replacement because now I don't trust that things will fit as expected. This also kind of puts me off ordering in the future. Again, this is nothing against the product itself. It seemed very nice, and I wish I could have kept it.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I got the blue color on sale. I was excited to receive it in the mail. But once I wore it a couple of times, I realized I liked the sweatshirt for the warmth, color, and length. But the one huge disadvantage is the hood. When I put the hood up it only goes to the top of my forhead and kind of tilts up, long story short is the hood is uncomfortable slides back which doesn't give enough coverage. That is the only reason it got 4 stars. Otherwise it's good for the dog walks but I really wise the hood was better.

I was disappointed in the overall quality of the coat. The fabric is not as thick as the fabric on the sweater fleece jacket I ordered several years ago. The lining for the pocket is very thin. I ordered Mallard blue and the color was not as bright as the color in the photo. It looked more like a navy blue than mallard. I returned the coat for these reasons.

This was a nicely made polyester fleece jacket. However, it was too form fitting with narrow sleeves such that one could not layer underneath it. So, I sent it back and got a refund. Perhaps if one were to buy one size larger than what one normally wears a layer could be fitted underneath.
