I've hike in both the Terraventure 3s and Ultraventures so I was pretty excited for the release of the Terraventure 4. So far they have exceeded my expectations! The best improvement over the 3s is the redesign of the side straps which on the 3 could be uncomfortable on the side of your foot and also the tongue seems to be much more comfortable. I'm very thankful that Topo didn't change the sole as this is the grippiest shoe I've ever owned. The mesh fabric seems better on the 4 but I'll need to hike thru some creeks to prove that. The 3s were an excellent shoe that served me for hundreds of miles of trail with no blisters, no foot pain, and without ever slipping on a wet rock. I expect no less from the 4s. Note to Topo: we like the small improvements but there's no need for major changes, especially to the toe box shape or outsole...thank you for keeping true to your philosophy and keeping this shoe awesome!

These are a step down from the Terraventure 3's. They don't feel like they have any cushion at all, very flat/firm feeling. The 3's felt like they had a little plush despite the short stack height. Supposedly, they changed the foam and insoles, so I'm guessing that's what went wrong. Also, the rock plate feels non-existent compared to the 3's. I love the 3's rock plate and sweared by it. Unfortunately, this one provides little to no protection. I just got done hiking a rocky trail and they felt no different than their mountain racer 3 with no rock plate. Bummed out, but will stock up on the 3's.

I love Topo's, and I love the Terraventure for trail running but the 4th version is different than the previous versions. I can feel every rock with the 4th version and I routinely get blisters during long runs. The product description says these shoes have a rock plate, but I cannot tell that it exists. I loved the previous versions of this shoe, especially the 3rd version. I've worn out 2 pairs of Terraventure 2's and 2 pairs of Terraventure 3's. The 3's were by far the best model. I'm about 5'11" and ~210lbs. I log 20-30 miles/wk. The 2's lasted about 300 miles. The 3's lasted about 350-400 miles. My first pair of Terraventure 4's were completely shot after 130 miles and I had heel blisters on any trail runs >15 miles. I replaced my first pair of 4's thinking I might have purchased a defective pair. On my first long run with the new Terraventure 4's I felt every rock and got horrible heel blisters again. I hate to abandon this shoe, but the 4th version is not working for me. Bring back the 3's. I'd buy a lifetime supply.

I never want to take these off, and I am buying a second pair. They are so stable and supportive and are the only shoes that don't aggravate my SI issues. Great fitting, comfortable right out of the box. They fit exactly as expected for my standard women's 9.5. I need a wider toe box than most women's shoes provide, and this has a little itty bit wider than I need, but feels really stable still because the upper is so supportive without being constricting.

10.5 Wide, this shoe fits my foot perfectly. Room to reach inside the toe box and an amazing footprint for secure steps. I've backpacked (35lbs), day hiked, done gym workouts, played golf, traveled, walked the dog and cut the lawn in them, they have changed my footwear game completely. I bought this for hiking and backpacking, it is the best shoe I've experienced in that environment (multiple trips to YNP and GNP and other Montana hikes) and they've held up perfectly. I now own 2 pairs. Easy break-in. Secure in the heel and wraps well with a positive arch support that makes finding good footing on trail intuitive. This same securement provides confident descents. I have had zero blister issues or hot spots. If the shoe fits your foot, it is a bit of a unicorn.

I wore a pair of terraventure 3's into the ground over the past couple years, so I got these ones, and they didn't disappoint! The grip on them is insane, great for keeping traction going downhill. #sweepstakes

Second pair of Topo trail runners and loved them both. This pair more than saw me through training for and completing a GC R2R. I use Topo gators and they're awesome. Only mod I've made is I prefer a molded insole which this shoe accommodates well (and no, as most customizable insoles aren't the bigger toe box shape, I only notice the difference the rare occurrences when I don't have on socks).

I just finished hiking 400kms on the Camino de Santiago - the first part of the del Norte and the Lebaniego. Lots of rugged terrain and mountains. The Terraventure 4s handled it all. Highly recommend!

I'm on my third pair of these and I still have the first pair in rotation for outside work. I think I bought my first pair about 6 or 7 years ago. I wear them for everything. I love how there is plenty of room in the toe box but the midsection is nice and snug so my feet firmly where they need to be. The lower heel is also a plus for me because I don't like a lot of cushion and try to maintain as close to ground as possible. #sweepstakes

I love these shoes!!! So comfy. I need a 134e in New Balance. Just a regular 13 from you is perfect. It wasn't my feet-- it was the manufacturer. These are the best!

I have Morton's neuroma in 1 foot. All 4 of my Topos have been great for this condition. 3 of the 4 are in 12 wide. Perhaps in the future Topo will make a few of the more bold colors in wide hint hint. I'm sticking with Topo. My feet NEED them! Lol

I love these shoes! I sent back 4 pairs from other major brands in this category, more expensive ones too, and was so happy when i finally got a pair i love with the Topo Trail Adventure 4. The toebox and midsole support are amazing, and i really love the navy blue color i got too.

Just took my new Topos on a trip to England and Iceland and hiked and scrambled a lot. These are awesome, great materials and a proper sticky Vibram outsole. These are like Altras but better in every single way. I had never heard of this brand but am happy I found them, I hope the quality stays this good.

I have been trying for years to get my husband to quit buying cheap shoes that are not comfortable or good for his feet. He wouldn't, so finally I bought him a pair of TOPO and he can't believe how much better his feet feel. His legs still bother him some when walking, but his feet no longer hurt.

I use them for hiking and walking. I like how comfortable they feel. They're light, roomy and I like the foot plate because I don't feel sharp rocks when I'm hiking. I also like walking in town with them because they look so good

I can't believe I waited this long to get a pair of Topo's. The toe box is amazing...never knew what I was missing till now. The Vibram sole is so grippy...overall I could not be more pleased with these trail shoes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these to anyone tired of slippery, toes squeezing shoes. I love them. If you've never tried them on, you have no idea what you're missing. Was tempted to try Altra but they don't use Vibram soles. I'm a fan for sure.

This is my new favorite trail running and backcountry hunting shoe. I've been impressed with how secure the midfoot feels, even after a few hundred miles.

This is my third pair of Terraventure trail shoes. I've used them on short runs, long runs, ultra marathons and OCR races. On dirt, gravel, sand, mud and snow. My feet always feel secure and stable and the tread seems to last forever. With the roomy toe box and breathable material my feet feel decent after many miles. Getchu some!

I have very wide feet and have had difficulty finding shoes that don't cause pain and discomfort. This shoe is by far the most comfortable that I have worn yet.
We like to hike on rocky uneven terrain and the Vibram sole gives great traction. So far I really like these shoes!

The Topo Terraventure 4's and the Traverse are true Altra killers. I've been wearing Altra's for several years and it's been a love/hate relationship due to Altra's inconsistent fit between models/series and overall degradation in quality. I was finally able to try the Terraventure 4's (and Traverse) and they are the best fitting, most comfortable, trail ready shoes I've laced on me feet in years. I've logged 75+ miles in both pairs and the Terraventure will be my PCT shoe of choice in 2025!
