These don't seem to have as much arch support as my other Topos, but other than that I am happy with them.

These shoes are great! Running in the snow in Wyoming my feet are dry and warm. I agree that these shoes have more heel slippage than the non winter versions. I have to tie my shoes differently to secure the heel. However, I'm very happy with these shoes overall. Topo, could you make a fun color of these? Grey is like bland pre run oatmeal.

Fit is right. I think the water proof makes them a little stiff. The grey is pretty and goes well with lots of colors.

I have worn Topo's for years, walking, running, hiking...this was not my shoe. Maybe Topo WP is just not my brand, it is way too narrow and short in my regular size, going up in size was not a remedy. I have returned to the other brand of wide toe athletic shoes for WP shoes. I have 2 other pairs of Lone Peaks that I love and wear regularly.

Unfortunately it rubbed my ankles on both feet, even though I undid the top laces. Very stiff and I don’t think it will loosen up

I have been using Topo Athletic trail runners for years. This edition matches the others in good tread and good space in the toe box. However, something feels weird in how your foot rests in the shoes. Almost as if your foot will slip out of the shoes because the fabric between the soul and your ankle is too short.

I bought the Terraventure mainly for the waterproofing and better traction for hiking and walking. I have the Phantom 3 which are so, so comfortable. Was rather disappointed that the Terraventure was not as roomy as the Phantom around the toes. Could hardly wiggle my toes in the Terraventure. The heels could do with more cushioning - my heels hurt after walking in them for 4+ hours. Can I have the Phantom 3 fit with waterproofing and better traction?

Very disappointed. I've worn Topo Athletic shoes for years because of the toe box room. Unfortunately this Topo style is narrower both in the toes and the over all width. I really wanted them to fit but they don't.

I wear a 10 in most shoe brands and this ran small and tight except in the toe box. Toe box nice and wide as advertised. Good cushion. Waterproof membrane is like almost sock-like inside the shoe, looks like it would be very waterproof, though makes a bit of a swoosh sound when walking. It says minimal heal to toe drop but it feels almost like heel is lower than toes if you're used to typical running shoes. If you like minimal drop shoes and want waterproof give it a try but probably need to 1/2 size up.

I have the Terrain and really like them, so took a chance on the TerraVenture for a WP version. Pros: low profile, normal gray color, responsive feeling when wearing. Cons: like most other shoe manufacturers, it appear Topos also failed to take into account that WP materials typically fit tighter/smaller. Shoe fits, but is very tight in the toe box compared to my other pair. Plus the materials used make a loud crackling sound across the toe box, which doesn't affect the fit, but is just weird.

Felt half size too small. Maybe you're supposed to wear minimalist shoes without socks but I no way am I doing that so maybe it's a me problem. However, on one side only the cuff around the ankle dug in really painfully. I returned them and got a pair of Xero trail runners instead. I will say that the Topo build quality felt sturdier and would probably last longer, but that doesn't do much good if they hurt to wear.

The fit was ok. I normally wear 6.5 and that is what I ordered. Didn't like the "orthopedic shoe" look to them, and although my foot is on the wide side, I did not care for the wide toe box. Someone else compared them to Earth Shoes of the 1970s, and I agree. Heel seems lower than sole. Also are stiff, which I guess is because they are waterproof.
Not what I was going for, which is a comfortable stylish hiking/walking shoe. They are much boxier in person than in the photos

I ordered the Terraventure 4 WP to compare to the non-waterproof version (which I love) and these fit shorter and tighter. If they had the same forefoot volume and a tiny bit more length, they would have been "keepers."

I've owned 2 pairs of terraventure shoes before these. Bought the waterproof for taking my dog into the wet grass in the mornings. My feet get wet after about 20 minutes. Comfortable though.

I own 2 other pairs of Topos, the Ultraventure and Mountain Racer. I bought them for the wide toe box, the narrow heel, and the fantastic grippy tread. They fit me beautifully. I was excited to receive the waterproof Terraventure and took them straight out for a hike. Unfortunately, the fit is not consistent with the other Topos shoes I own. The heel on the Terraventure is not similarly narrow, and it has far less padding than the Ultraventure and the Mountain Racer. As a result, the shoe slips considerably for me in the heel, which makes them basically useless. I'm disappointed with the lack of consistent fit across models, and with the lack of response from Topos customer service (emailed 12 days ago).

I used the shoes only for morning dog walks to keep my feet dry on forested and off-road terrain. After about 3 months (only ~300 easy miles), the waterproofing failed on both shoes right where the sole meets the shoe box. Water poured in from both sides of the shoe, but once it got in, it couldn't get out. I couldn't even keep them for dry conditions because they really stank. I had to dispose of them while practically new. It's a shame because otherwise they were a great fit.

I wrote a very positive review for these shoes shortly after I got them. I mentioned the wide toe box and the excellent waterproofing. Now 4 months later I have a different opinion. My shoes are no longer waterproof. Even walking in wet grass will leave me with wet socks. Equally troubling is that one shoe is starting to rip open near the toe box. I walk most on the road and smooth dirt trails. These shoes have not been used roughly. I doubt I will be a return customer.

I find Topos to be very inconsistent. Some, I adore, and live in and some just don't work. I was hoping these would be my new wet-weather shoes but they were too tight across the ball of the foot.

I love TOPO and have many pairs of Terraventure 4 in berry color, and was looking forward to these Terraventure WP but they're defective. The left shoe is definitely not a 3mm drop, it's more though right shoe is 3mm. I cannot wear them, it hurts and my left foot goes numb. I know Terraventures very well as I purchase new ones every 6-8 months as I wear them daily for hikes, walks and the gym.

These are fairly comfortable but far less so than other topos I own. Purchased for rainy day hiking when I don't need a full boot but absolutely it watwrproof. Water seems to seep in where the shoe meets the sole.

I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my usual size, based on previous reviews. Unfortunately, that didn't help. The toe box on these is narrower than all the other Topos I have worn. They have some sort of padding inside the shoe that squeezed my toes together, so this pair has to go back. I have ridiculously wide feet, so this may or may not apply to others.

For reference, my other pair of Topos are the Ultraventure 3. My local store didn't sell the Terraventure WP so I had to take a chance and buy online. I was shocked by how narrow the cut is - the shoes are so tight, my toes fall asleep. The shoes are also very stiff; I tried running in them and it was jarring. Traction is good, so that's something, and they feel like quality construction, but overall, surprised and disappointed.

I'll start by saying the vibram sole is a life saver. I stuck to pine needles and bare granite like a mountain goat whereas before I would slip frequently. However, in the first two weeks of using these shoes, during which I put 40 miles of hiking on them, the fabric around the shoe lace holes has completely worn away. Everything else is in great shape still except for this spot, which looks like it'll render the shoe trash way before the rest of it wears out. I switched to these from Altras for improved durability and they did not deliver. I will try a different shoe next time.

I've had my Topo's just over a month. At first, they were great. Felt good, good traction, breathable yet waterproof. Unfortunately, there seems to be some padding between the outer and inner layers of the toe box. The padding has bunched up, making the fit of the shoe uncomfortable and pinching my toes. Also, I feel every rock through the sole of the shoes. The rock plate doesn't seem to do much. The shoes aren't wearable anymore after just a monthI have Topo trail runners that are great, but these hiking shoes are sadly disappointing.

I recently received a pair of these for Christmas. I wore them for one afternoon, about 4 hours. My left foot has been in severe pain ever since. It's been a week since I had them on and Im afraid to wear them again.
