The boots are well made and will last for a very long time, hopefully. The fit was a bit loose for me but fixed that with some inserts which made a big difference.

I needed a new pair of outside shoes for when the ground is wet from rain or dew and I was going to get a fourth pair of Bean's Gum Shoes but decided on these 6.5 inch Chelsea Bean Boots. Great choice on my part. The best part about these boots is that I can slip them on on the porch when I have to take our dog out (or whatever), I don't have to try and tie them before I leave the porch and they are comfortable. I have worn them with different weight socks and so far all do well in these boots. I can highly recommend these slip-on boots to keep your feet dry while easy walking or simple chores outside in the damp in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

My previous boots lasted several years and finally walked away to boot heaven after many years. The new ones are very comfortable, fit nicely and they look forward to at least ten years AND the new ones have a MUCH larger hole for my fat finger to fit in to. LLBean continues to 'Raise the Bar in every thing they do. Keep on Keeping on. .

Fantaatic boots! My husband has a back injury & these are so much easier for him to put on. We are hugs Bean Boot fans and have several different styles

This boot has gotten too expensive and LL Bean no longer re-soles them, which is a big disapointment.

Bought these boots as a gift for my husband & he loves them! He has lots of lace-up boots, but wanted something he could easily pull on & off. These work great & are very comfortable. LLBean does it again

Excellent item, which I use for running my snow blower. Has room for heavy socks, and of course totally waterproof. Highly recommended!

Being female, I wear a 10M. However, if I choose something from the Men's LLBean footwear, I can wear an 8M. AND, Bean has marvelous men's mocs. Recently, I noticed that my Bean Boots were wearing down in the hill. SOOOO, a great reason to get a new pair. As I browsed, I noticed these boots. OMB (oh my bob), they were just beautiful. I had to have them . . . and I did. They are everything I could wish for in a boot: sturdy, warm, comfortable. The bonus: a smaller size than the women's boots. I have had them for a few weeks and have warn them a number of times. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE! Everything I could wish for in a boot. AND, they are made in Maine. AMEN

Glad these were brought back for sale. Replacing the same boot that I have had for over 30 years. These are my go to boot.

These are as good as they have always been. Craftsmanship is excellent and they are extremely comfortable with the proper socks. Great option to slip on and head out to chop some wood. They do run large so pay attention to Beanies recommendations.

The boot is sturdy and well constructed. I wish that the top were somewhat tighter/more elasticized to provide an additional level of protection from water incursion, e.g. during beach walks.

Still high quality boot, but preferred the 8 inch original version. For best fit, order at least half to full size below your actual foot size!

Bought to wear in Maine winter weather, especially 3-5" snowstorms and clean-up. Replacing a no-longer-offered L.L. Bean Camp Boot that I loved -- finally wore them out after 15+ years and 2-3 sole replacements. Have had no significant snowfall since I bought them so hard to give an honest evaluation. Appearance and fit were "as advertised" by staff in Flagship Store shoe department. My size was out-of-stock when I visited, so had to mail order. Package arrived as-promised. Am looking forward to our usual end-of-winter snowfall in late-March-early April to wear them and make up my mind about a more meaningful evaluation. So-good so-far, but still a bit too early to tell ...

1. SO nice to open the box and the boots FIT!
2. I should have ordered a size UP instead of the same size as womens boots. Clearly there is no standardization between the two.
3. They fit better than my old ones but I can't step into them, or maybe that will come with use.
4. I conditioned the leather for waterproofing because I'm a slob in the outdoors.
5. I also replaced the insoles with shearling for insulation purposes...I have worn my other ones in sub zero temps and my feet were very cozy. (with heavy wool socks)
6. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give them a 9, because nothing is perfect.

The boot fit ok being a half size smaller than my normal 9 1/2. The only issue I have is that the heel does not fit snug in the boot. It is loose and slides up and down while walking causing the boot heel to drop and drag each step.

It is a great boot to slip into quickly but runs big and loose on size. I normally wear a 9 or 10. I returned one pair of 9's that were just too loose, and now have a size 8. They still slip a bit in the heel, but they now feel good to wear. And there is still room for heavy socks.

I take a size 12 shoe and purchased these in size 11 as instructed to do....one size below my shoe size. They are OK but still a little loose. I prefer a shoe/boot that "fits like a glove". They are also rather poorly padded. Their grip on snow and even some ice is outstanding however, and they are very easy to slip on and off. I would purchase them again.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Runs SmallRuns Large
Believe the other reviewers who say this boot is 1 to 1.5 sizes big. I typically wear a 10 E and landed on size 9 with these.
I also tried the size 10, which was comically loose. Bean says they oversize their boots to accommodate thick socks. You'd have to wear some really thick socks, but if you're up north that might be important. In mid-weight Smartwools, the 9 fits me fine.
About the width--they leave a little to be desired, but know they come with thick removable insoles. I dropped some superfeet in them and that actually helped a lot.
Probably not as high quality as my dad's Bean boots from the 1980s, but the design is hard to beat for general chore boots or errands in the rain.

Nice boot and nice fit in the smaller size but, the boots were too big in the ankles and his heel slipped out. Returned them for some lace ups.
