There is so much to love about this shoe: lightweight, flexible upper, toe protection, incredible grip and I mean the colors are so fun! I love to add this shoe into my trail running rotation with the ultra glide, especially on muddy, snowy runs!

This shoe is my go-to for technical + long runs. Over 300 miles in them & they're still kickin'. I put this shoe through the ringer during the HURT 100 and am pleased to say that I escaped blister free, with *surprisingly* happy feet. Traction on technical descents & in muddy areas was superb. The heel lockdown was great, upper felt secure across top of the foot but roomy in the toebox - also found the upper to be very breathable & did dry quickly after stream crossings. Midsole felt supportive & responsive throughout the entire race.

Love them! First try the fit is perfect. The support is good for a non-plated shoe. Good grip and good feeling on the ground even if its a cushuning shoes.

Seems a well constructed shoe! But after decades of being able to just order Salomon's and know that they fit and that I'd love them, after trying on a few sizes and a few styles it seems there is nothing in the salmon lineup that fits anymore! Sadly, for the first time in over 20 years, I'm looking for a new brand, as Salomon no longer makes what they've made. I'm not alone in this. Look ar conversations online like Reddit...many others like me left in the dust. I hope the new customers make up for the loss of all the old diehard loyal ones. I tried maybe 7 or 8 different styles between online purchases. Literally have a huge pile of Salomon shoes in my house. I have 3 very old ones that are still falling apart that I wear daily, as none of my new ones work. Please make a legacy shape!

Wore these shoes to hike Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon. These shoes probably weren't broken in before the hike. They did not have any flaws throughout the hike. No blisters, no sore feet and overall very comfortable. I'm looking forward to running and hiking more trails in the Thundercross in the future. Very satisfied.

Lacing system allows for minute adjustments to tone the shoe to your foot for a comfortable fit. Grip levels through mud, rock, root, or road. Tons of cushioning to ease the impact of stepping on acutely angled rock.

This is my 2nd pair of Thundercross and I couldn't be happier. I figured I'd better buy another pair before something changes. These are wide enough in the toe box and have great grip and cushioning for trail running and hiking. They are also my go to shoe for just wearing around since they are so comfortable. Keep up the good work!

My go to for softer terrain. My issue with soft ground shoes is that they are often stiff and uncomfortable but these are the exact opposite. Soft upper and very comfortable to run in for extended period of time

57 miles into the shoes so far-a mix of snowy and muddy conditions mostly (winter trails in Boise) and I find these shoes to be impressive and holding up well. The shoe feels surprisingly plush for a Salomon (not quite hook level, but close) with padding around the ankle collar and the energy foam midsole feeling soft on initial step in. They feel lightweight and the traction has been awesome with the 5mm lugs being super clutch for days I couldn't get out to run until the snow had already melted and left for sloppy trails. The material around the toe bumper keeps feet from getting wet in snowy weather and although I likely wouldn't race in this shoe (too heavy) or wear it a ton in the summer (same protective material over toe looks like it would trap heat) I find it perfect for the current Nov-April weather in the northern hemisphere. Durability goof thus far and lugs show no noticeable sign of wearing or midsole of compressing.

Having a foot on the wider side I'm not able to run in a lot of Salomon's, but man am I glad I can fit this one. Tested them in some nasty technical muddy sloppy trails and these shoes are fire. The fit is almost glove like, snug in all the right places with room for toe splay. Definitely my go to shoe for nasty weather ultras this year

Great shoe. Was disappointed when the Wildcross was cancelled but this is a great replacement. Similar to the Speedcross but bigger toe box, which I need, and more cushioning. Very please with it on the trails!

A great choice for mix terrain, offers both grip in the mid and a level of cushioning on harder surfaces. Not a specialist shoe for either so you have to compromise a bit but my go to shoe when I'm not sure whether I need deep lugs fr the mud of 6mm of cushioning for the rocks. I went a 1/2 size up which works fine. Gusset and lacing system makes getting shoe on a bit harder but feels snug and precise once you are there.

Ran a very wet and technical 50k in Duluth MN in these bad boys and they were amazing. Compared to a lot of the other runners out there, I was slipping the least on rocks and roots/wood. These shoes were also very comfortable over the whole race

I've been waiting for Salomon to make a low drop version of the Speedcross and these shoes do not disappoint. The Thundercross have a similar amount of grip and similar upper with a slightly wider toebox and the same speed lace system. I've run a couple of 50K trail races in these shoes and there is plenty of cushioning and grip for even the most technical sections of trails. I would definitely recommend the Salomon Thundercross and I will be purchasing another pair when this pair finally wears out.

I've admired Salomon shoes for their appearance for a long time, but it's been difficult to find a trail shoe in the Salomon line up that has room in the forefoot. I finally found this in the Thundercross. It has what I'd call Mid-Max stack, low drop, and a toe box that allows me to move my toes. First run I did in the shoes was 12 miles and felt perfectly comfortable during and after the run. My US12 weighs in at 314g which is also a plus. Many trail shoes in my size and similar stack height are 350g and above. Lastly, this shoe, and depending on your location, could be worn all winter. My first run was end of summer, and my feet did not overheat, but I don't know how well it would do in really hot weather.

Great Mountain running shoe I've covered around 50 miles on varied terrain and it's perfect for everything especially Rocky Mountains like Tryfan Much better for me than the Speedcross Love the 4mm drop and the advertised lateral traction really worked on some large slabs Extra toe box over the speecross works perfect Feet have never felt fatigued and the cushioning is bang on but you still have ground feel

I love these so much I had to buy the Gore-Tex version as well. I have a bunion and these provide plenty of room, and are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I haven't been able to trail run in years, but these shoes have allowed me to start running again with zero pain. Also, these shoes look super cool. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
