I bought the Thundercross model a month ago to use on my trip to the Dolomites and Innsbruck. I have been using Ultraglide and Ultraglide 2 for the past two years but will default to Thundercross. They shoe feels more formidable and has better traction. What I have learned the hard way is that no Salomon or Hoka works on Scree.
The onlu issue I have with the Thundercross is that there is to much material in the forefoot - compared to Ultraglide. A smaller size is not the answer.
Overall - a great trail shoe that made it through the Italian and Austrian Alps in all types of challenging conditions.

I have bought 3 pairs of this shoe model in the last two weeks.
I love the cushioning in the soles. They are really comfortable for both walking and running.
I love this type of shoe lacing system. This lacing system is one of the reasons why I am such a Salomon fan!

OK, bought the Thundercross with the hope of getting a bit more cushion and it delivers! I love the Salomon Speedcross line but wanted to try these shoes. The Thundercross is wonderful shoe that I use to train with, and excellent grip as well!
The only gripe I have is the softer toe bumper. Not as strong as the Speedcross line. I stubbed my toe last week on a run and I was not happy. That needs to changed if this is supposed to be trail shoe.
Other than that, love the shoe!

I was on the hunt for new shoes and after much research and decided to give the Salomon Thundercross a shot. I will add that these are my first Salomon trail running shoes. I took them on a 20km test, and they performed great. Comfortable, light weight, responsive, and they gave me great confidence on my run! This was my first time using the quick lace system and loved it, this was also the first time I did not have to adjust my laces which was nice. I like the Thundercross so much that I purchased a second pair in a different color. It was suggested I try a 10.5 but ordered both a size 10 and 10.5 and do feel they fit a little big as the 10 seemed perfect for me. I am a little worried about the lugs durability as I did see a little wear on them already and I was not really on a rough trail, but wear is to be expected and we will see how they hold up in future runs. I recently did a 25km race and they performed great yet. Really pleased with the Thundercross, the lugs and outsole kept me from slipping and I have now tested them on a variety of terrains including some technical terrain and they performed great! I was impressed I could take these out of the box and go a nice mid-range run with no issues, no hot spots or rubbing, feet felt great after my first run in these shoes. Excited for the next trail run adventures in my new Thundercross shoes.

I've been hoping Salomon would make a trail running shoe like this for a long time. Finally the right amount of lightweight cushioning for the trails I rune i9n the San Juan mountains. I had been running in speedgoats previously and really appreciate the width of the toebox in the thundercross.

So far these shoes are incredible! I wore them once on a 10 miler then used them in a 21k trail race. This is just what I wanted, something like the Speedcross shoes but with a wider toe box and more cushion for longer running distances. Super comfortable and fit like a glove.

This is the type of shoe I've been waiting for from Salomon. I've always loved the traction in the SpeedCross, but needed more cushioning than what they offered. ThunderCross is the answer! Fantastic traction and exceptional cushioning.
I did find my normal size felt a little bit roomy, so will try on a half size smaller in my next pair.
The only potential minor improvement I would like to see is possibly going with an upper that breathes and drains a little bit better.
Overall though.no complaints and these will be my go to shoe for soft, muddy trails and snow.

Trs beau produit, bien fini.

Salomon made a high cushion distance trail shoe with great grippy tread. This shoe is high stacked, yet stable and secure for miles of running on trails. A rocker to help speed you along and breathable enough except on the hottest days.

This shoe combines great cushion, without compromising speed. I feel like I can run a road 5K in these with the responsiveness. The lugs are great for muddy trails and mountains. I was very impressed how they performed when things got steep and slick. No issue climbing! Descending through a boulder field, they gripped with no issue! Highly recommend!

I just got the shoes and have taken 'em out on a few runs over various terrains. They're super cushy and fit true-to-size. The uppers seem to breathe extremely well in the Alabama heat and humidity! The Thundercross is a good cross between the cushioned feel of the Ultra Glide 2's and the grippy traction of the Speedcross. Looking forward to putting these through the ringer!

The Thundercross is a perfect blend of soft squishy comfort and responsive stiffness. For having the stack height it does, the shoe corners impressively confidently compared to other trail shoes with a little more stack.

The new Thundercross features the just right cushy Energy Foam that I'm really loving for longer days out on the traiils this summer. On top of that Salomon made the toe box a bit more roomy for the toes to splay more naturally, making this a super comfortable shoe with a great tread pattern on technical terrain...the colorway is pretty rad, too!

I used to run trails and mountains in zero drop or very minimal cushion shoes and it was great for a long time. As I started to get into my mid 30s that wasn't making my body happy anymore. As someone that's 6'2 220# this kind of cushioning is what I like these days to stay healthy. These shoes are legit!

I found the Thundercross after looking for a cushioned show with minimal drop that had a full one piece outsole. It seems other brands dont have a full outsole and do this to save weight. I had a pair that had the outsole separate during a hike
and left me with nothing but foam as traction for the remainder of the hike.
The Thundercross fit well when first trying them on and with my favorite insole they were like a slipper before tightening the lace system. I can wear them loose in perfect comfort and minimal slipping. When tightened they are like a glove, no slipping anywhere. The tread is great. The foam is great. Ive walked 30k steps around DC on concrete and backpacked 40 miles in 3 days in Glacier NP. Both use cases saw great traction and comfort. I also trail run, hike and hunt in the Thundercross. I likely have 200+ miles on my first pair and they have zero flaws in the upper, the rubber on the outsole is worn, but not much. Ive purchased two more pairs. One is for rotating and the other is a backup incase Salomon makes changes to the design fit I dont like.

This is my third pair of shoes with the same tread. It is comfortable and really good on the trails and hills. Once they start to wear out I use them for cutting grass. I have a hill in my yard and even when the soles are worn they still grip very well.

This is my fourth pair of Salomon shoes and I'm really digging how they feel on foot. They are perfect for the types of trails I frequent in north central Florida. Usual run includes sand, water, various kinds of mud, tall grass, short grass, gravel, limestone chucks and hard track. As with Salomon shoes, the built quality is superb. Can't recommend them enough and would purchase again.
