I've purchased over a dozen Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes over the years, as well as other Salomons, and this pair isn't right. The arch support on my right foot is on the outer side of my foot, and it's also too far up, under the ball of the outer side of my foot. Left shoe is the typical, perfectly comfortable Salomon XA Pro 3D that I fell in love with a decade ago. I've tried wearing them to see if something inside will shift to normal, but I've had no luck. I'm so disappointed in this pair; I hope I am able to exchange. Even though the XA Pro 3D's have changed over the years, I've always loved them; but I believe my right shoe is defective.

I have been wearing Solomon sneakers for almost 30 years.I love the no tie laces. They are easy to slip into and comfortably take me shopping or hiking.

I bought these for a trip to Patagonia hiking. I haven't worn them in the rain but they worked well with a few inches of snow.
Shoes were comfortable right out of the box. They are heavier then the trail runners I use for hiking. But, they are so comfortable, I am taking only them for 8 days of hiking. I usually like to change my shoes, so that last statement was important.

I have labrador retrievers so out rain or shine every day. These shoes have been fantastic- shed water and comfortable to wear all day long. I have worn out the soles (1st pair) the cuffs (second pair) these are the third. I walk 3-8 miles a day on park trails

I have owned multiple pairs of Salmon's over the years. We have hiked many miles together! I have noticed in this current pair and the previous pair that there is little padding/support on the balls of my feet, which is unfortunate because I love everything else about them. I can't take them on long hikes because the ball of my feet become sore.

Wore these hiking in rain in Glacier. My feet were soaked. There must have been 2 Tbsp of water sloshing around my feet. I have been wearing xa pro for years and have many pairs. But the waterproof ones are not waterproof.

I have been wearing the XA Pro for well over a decade. They fit my feet and are deep enough to accept my custom orthotics. They provide stability and protection for my feet and are comfortable to wear all day, every day. The quicklime system makes them easy on and off...especially traveling through airports. If I have a complaint it would just be the recent color options. Current colors are a bit muted and icky.

When I find a shoe that fits my high arch with great footbed support and stability Im happy. Its not easy for me to find the total package in a shoe. I also like the easy lacing system so I never have to stop to tie a shoe! I wish the colors were a bit more subtle, but I like the gore tex material so I just buy what you have in my size. Please dont make any drastic changes!

I only wear Salomon trail and hiking shoes. These are a bit stiff but do a good job on the trail and have good traction. Would not consider them to be trail runners but a good solid day hiking shoe.

So here's the problem I have with some shoes, which I think relates to how they're made: If the style is first made for men, then adapted with smaller sizes for women, very often shoe manufacturers don't tighten the heel. These were overall just fine - until I started to walk in them and my foot kept coming up out of the heel. That's a no-go for me.

Fit was large, at least a 1/2 size to full size larger than all my other Salomon hiking, walking shoes. Realized this after I took tags off and walked outside with them. Definitely size at least a half size down when ordering. Wish companies would stay true to their sizing so there will so not be such discrepancies. Disappointed

Oh dear! Perfect almost - except that my heel kept sliding out of the shoe when walking. I'm guessing they didn't use a female foot last when making these, and just used the males'. So sad.

I always go for the XA Pro 3D. I dont normally go for the Goretex. As others have mentioned, this and other models are longer than in previous years. Ive always gone with the same size & had to size down a half size for all shoes this year. The Goretex liner is built into the upper tongue area better than in previous years - no more sock to slip into - or it wouldnt be an option for me. The toe cap & sole are key for features for me. Fortunately the sides (near the ankle) are lower - some of the previous Goretex models were too high. The lacing system doesnt seem as durable as previous models & I hope it holds up. Thats my only concern. The stiff soles (that I want) make them a bit less comfortable than some of the lighter shoes but these are great for legit hiking.

I have owned 8-10 pairs of the Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX over many years. I love them! I am not a runner but a hiker. BUT I just purchased the new ones (black with pink and red) in Oct. 2023 and after wearing the shoe only once, the quick lace came apart on the left shoe. I submitted a warranty and was told they will send new quick laces to replace the broken one. It is known that the laces eventually fail on these usually closer to 1 year, maybe after 2 years if you are lucky. I have had the shoes for less than 30 days and would expect a new pair sent to me (or at the least, to be able to return them for a refund) due to the failure which is clearly a manufacturer defect. Unfortunately, Salomon has failed me, a loyal wearer of this shoe. I will replace the quick laces, which according to reviews is a pain. But I hope this does not happen to other loyal or new purchasers of this shoe. I do hope the new version performs as expected after this incident.

This is my third pair of these shoes and each pair has lasted an impressive number of years. I have hiked many kilometers and summited many mountains in them. This version I ordered the same size and am dismayed to find the volume (not length) is huge compared to the older models. My feet slop around inside and the cuff seems to come up really high around my ankle. I still love these as an everyday shoe, especially in wet weather but can no longer run in them or do big hikes. Super disappointed to have to find a new shoe for these activities.

Used the shoe a few times, including a solid 3hr hike with a heavy pack. Well cushioned, solid traction, love the lacing system. Fits a tad wide, really have to tighten them to prevent foot slide. Haven't evaluated waterproofness yet.

This is by far the best, supportive, high quality shoe I have found so far. I have tried other popular brands and they cant even compare. True to size and great design!

I love the Xa Pro line and was waiting for the new ones. I find them very comfortable for everyday wear as well as day hikes and backpacking. I get the most out of every pair I buy. I'm a 7.5 and these are true to size for me, roomy enough to move my toes up and down but no sliding around. I was disappointed in the color options, but purchased the one with the most black on them. I'm not sure why the colors always need to be mismatched and weird. I didn't realize there was pink on the black and light blue ones.

Too narrow. Only tried one because the shoes were stuffed with some kind of toilet paper, pushed in so hard in the shoe that I could not get it out.

Very comfy but not as water resistant as expected. Wore them in a steady rain ~2 miles and my socks were pretty wet afterwards.
