I bought these tights from Terry. I wear their medium bike shorts and want an unpadded tight to wear over shorts. I bought the tights in large based on size chart and customer service. There is no way these fit over bike shorts. Even without bike shorts they would be on the small side for me and the rise in the back isn't very generous for biking. Disappointed. Really like Smartwool products. Also your model shows reflector strips on front and back and my pair only had them on the front.

I wanted to love this product since it has been redesigned at the waist without the toggle on an elastic band. Unfortunately, this fabric slips downturning the slightest activity. I exchanged the tights for the Active Wind Pants and I'm super happy with those. The elastic waistband fits perfectly and keeps the pants in place.

I am so disappointed. I wore for ten years, given to me for Christmas 2014, my first pair of these tights. Loved them. Wore them out! My dear husband bought me a new pair for Christmas 2024. Upon first view - Lovely, warm, well made but NO DRAW STRING AT THE WAIST!!!! What the heck? Where is the drawstring? Unfortunately I was desperate to wear them and thought maybe they were cut to stay up? NO. One mile in to my run and I was pulling up the tights which had slid down 6" in the crotch. Sorry, these are the correct size so don't tell me I need to go down a size. . I am 27" waist and 36" hips. I live in Alaska and have to add a thin layer for winter running, have muscular legs and XS are way to tight as I have tried them on. I fit the parameters of the small. My last pair were a small and had a draw string at the waist and they stayed up! What stupid designer decided this essential feature was no longer needed? I have now worn my new tights and cannot return them. They are useless as running tights. I will try to find someone who can retrofit a sleeve into the waist to put in an after market drawstring. I should not have to do that. I am very very very unhappy. Beware to other considering buyers. These are no longer running rights.

These are warm and soft and I had high hopes as they also have the handy leg zippers and good pockets, but they constantly slide down without a drawstring which is annoying and distracting

The tights are warm and protect against the wind but they are not worth the price!
I am 5 0, 128lbs with an athletic build, and ordered both S and XS - I kept the XS.
The fit of the legging is all wrong. The S was loose and immediately slid down. While the XS 'fits', the waistband is quite rigid, and not adjustable. They are tight to get over the hips and then loose against my waist so they constantly slide down and have to be adjusted.
They are opaque on the butt! Do not squat/bend/do anything other than move upright in them else your underwear is visible.
Being Merino Wool I was expecting the fabric in contact with the skin to be soft. Alas, it is a bit scratchy and becomes uncomfortable after a short period of time.

I am so disappointed that the crotch thinned out instantly and now has a hole only after having it one full winter of wear. NOT worth $90+ just to last one year. Poor quality. I didn't even wear these doing anything athletic in it.

I bought these very excited to find a winter tight that had some wind protection. I hate wearing two layers in the winter and this seemed like the solution I was looking for. After reading reviews and taking my measurements, I ordered a medium. I'm a size 8 in most pants and my measurements matched the medium perfectly. However, when I put them on it was clearly quite quickly that these were too big and were falling down. I wore them out for a quick run, and went to go pull the draw string on the waist only to find out there is NO draw string!!! This seems like a major design flaw. I would be able to keep the medium and make them work if there was a drawstring. I don't want to order the small in case it is too tight and I'm not sure if I can try them on anywhere either. Great pant if it weren't for this one major flaw and slightly inaccurate sizing.

I walked 1.5 miles with 30 degree temperatures & my legs were freezing. Smartwool should stick with selling socks only

One Major Flaw.....No Drawstring at waist!! While it is a fitted waist and a great pant otherwise, without a drawstring, these pants slip and fall down during any activity. Any items placed in the side pockets just accelerate the drooping. I wanted to love these pants, especially after that price point but each time I wear them, they leave me frustrated and annoyed at having to pull them up and readjust so often. Very unfortunate.

Did not like the outer fabric-it made too much noise when I walked. Returned them.
