I bought these pants in the purple/pinkish color last spring and they quickly became my *favorite* pant to guide in. I guide single pitch rock climbing in Acadia National Park and these pants are the first outdoor pants that have fully fit my waist and booty without bagginess AND with plenty of stretch for my bendy needs. I bought them in black too for when I am bleeding and I got the "light" version in orange. I like the OG gamma better than the light version but both are hella comfy. My only qualm is the belt buckle thing comes undone a lot when getting moved by the harness, but the pants stay on anyway so it isn't a huge deal. They have a gusset in the crotch so they are comfortable without underwear on, which is pretty epic on hot summer days or if you need quick pee access to drop your pants while wearing a harness on a multi-pitch climb without wanting to deal with the hassle of also getting underwear back on under a harness They dry super fast. I have a pelvic floor dysfunction and have literally peed myself wearing these while on a big alpine route and they dried out in 20-30 minutes with wind. I have worn them doing a lot of climbing, including crack climbing and chimney climbing and they only have a few minor rips on the pockets where I either had good luck rocks or my phone inside to provide a hard surface for the outside rock to rub against and create a tear in the fabric. My legs be bruised but the pants are going strong. Will definitely be buying more in other fun colors.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
These are great pants for hiking, travel, you name it! They are really pricey but the quality aligns, with the exception of that useless snap. If you sit it will pop open. This can be fixed by using a belt but $200 pants shouldn't require the use of a belt to stay closed With that said, they are durable. I've worn them for both hiking and travel. Quick dry, water repellent They're a bit heavy for me for my regular hiking since I live in a very warm climate so I'd like to try the lightweight version I do wish there were more colors, like foliage and maybe the bright pink that is currently in season I ordered a 14 (my measurements are 35" w, 44" h) and they fit as I would want them to (comfortable and not tight) For reference, I can wear both a 12 and 14 in the Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants, a 10 in Lululemon leggings, a 12 in Lululemon casual pants, and a Large in Nike leggings.

Lightweight and very comfortable throughout! 4-way stretch is perfect for my 27" thigh and 17" calf circumferences! These are tight like leggings which I prefer. I can still wear Arc'teryx Essent leggings as base layer just fine. Plus, it allows for me to buy perfect size for waist while still fitting snuggly at my narrow straight hips and flatter backside. There is no give at the waist belt but the material is still comfortable if it fits. It would dig in if purchased too small. I'm thrilled with the fit overall!

I am updating my earlier review now that I have had time to wear the revised version. I also own the original version. What I like about the revised version: As with the original, the fabric in the revised version performs well in dry or wet, rainy weather conditions and holds up well through muddy/wet, sometimes prickle bush lined trails here on Vancouver Island. I also like that I can layer leggings under them in the colder months, as is during the shoulder seasons and I can cinch up the bottoms in summer, making this a durable, all season piece. If I had to choose 3 pieces of Arc'teryx clothing, this would be on the list along with the Atom jacket and Beta shell. What I like about the original version: The design. The leg is less tapered and the result is a more tailored looking and feeling pant rather than simply a functional one. The Arc'teryx logo belt elevated the Gamma pant to my absolute favourite hiking pant for its function as well as its design. I hope in the future, Arc'teryx designers will consider bringing these elements back.

Miss having the belt that came with the Gamma LT ones that I bought in March 2023 and the snap on these ones doesn't seem to fasten as tight as my last pair. I have taken the tags off now so hoping the snap stays snapped during my walks.

I've owned the Gamma pant for a couple years, and I am thoroughly impressed! These pants are a perfect balance of comfort, durability, and performance. The fit is fantastictailored yet stretchy, allowing for a full range of movement during outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, and even casual use. The fabric is soft, but it still feels tough enough to handle rough terrain and unpredictable weather. What really stands out to me is how versatile they are. They're breathable enough for warmer days yet still provide enough warmth for cooler temperatures. The water-resistant finish has held up well, keeping me dry during light rain and damp conditions. Plus, the pockets are well-placed and practical without adding bulk. Overall, I can see why Arc'teryx has such a strong reputation. The Gamma Pants are a top-tier option for anyone looking for a durable, functional, and comfortable pair of pants for outdoor adventures. Highly recommend!

I was nervous to get these pants initially because Arcteryx seems to fit tall and skinny, however as a curvier human, they fit fairly well! I find that they are not overly low waisted and the built in belt is great. Being 5'1 I'm sure I could have gotten the short version, but the regular isn't overly long and I just cuff them.

These pants are comfortable and true to size. I ordered a size 8R for my height of 1.62 meters, and they fit perfectly without feeling too long. I also noticed invisible mud stains after walking in the rain. The Yukon color looks even better in person! Carrying a cell phone in the pocket may feel too heavy while walking.

Perfect pant for hiking, climbing and really anything outdoors. The material is lightweight and has a really good stretch for movement. The size runs true to size. I was able to wear a light base layer underneath and movement was not restricted at all. Zipper good, buckle is good. Great side pocket for my phone. Love the color. I wore these for a ferrata climb in Norway, Trolltunga. They were absolutely perfect. When I returned home, i purchased the same pant in two other colors. Great quality for the price!

Terrific cut and overall fit (they allow plenty movement and flexibility while hiking). The material is extremely soft and the double stitching and partially hidden zippers denote attention to tailoring details, which I am quite impressed by as compared to others in the same price range. I particularly appreciate that the logo is conspicuous: I have not bought clothes at times because I do not like to be a walking advertisement or worse yet a bragging user of more expensive clothes.

I've had the Gamma Pant for three winters. They are my go-to pant for ice climbing, alpine rock and any adventure that will require me to be in mountains for multiple days, because they are the perfect balance of breathable, dexterous and water resistant. They layer well with a thin base if it's chilly, or with a shell over the top if it's super wet. Aside from a few small crampon punctures, the pants are still in excellent condition. After my first season of ice climbing with the Gamma Pant, my partner was jealous and got a pair for himself.

These are the best summer soft shell pants I had in a while! I use them in the mountains in alpine terrain while guiding and they are durable, water-resistant/ quick drying and warm enough for snow travel and cold climbing conditions. I would LOVE to see these pants in the exact same cut and colors in a lighter version, more applicable for summer rock climbing, similar to all the options that men have at Arcteryx!

I wear my Gamma Pants arguably too much, but there's so great for so many situations. To work, bouldering, hiking, camping, traveling. I love that they are water resistant, have good pockets, and look good!

Love these!! I am 5'9 and the regular length fits me perfectly. I just wished the snap button at the waist was more sturdy because my pants keep unbuttoning when I crouch down quickly like when lifting a box.

I bought this pant size 2 regular. They fit a little bit different to compare the previous Gamma. A little bit fitted. I liked the previous model for the bel. So, it fit very good on me.

This is one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. I wear this for activity, fitness and just as a comfortable casual piece. The simple design makes it a classic look that is clean and comfortable at the same time. I have worn the Gamma pants in a variety of settings and temperatures. I have worn my Gammas with warm base layers on - 20C runs and on +20C hikes in the summer to keep the bugs off of my legs. I love the flexibility of these pants. The material is water repellant, breathable, flexible, soft and durable at the same time. This gives me the ability to do anything and everything I want to do in my training at any temperature. Also, these pants are comfortable and look good. I love wearing these to do my everyday tasks. From taking my kids to school, soccer practice or just hanging out with friends and family. It doesn't feel restrictive and fits well. I love ability to micro-adjust with the belt and the draw cords around the ankles ensure the pants fit just right. I feel confident about how I look in these pants and they allow me perform in my training and fitness to be my best self.
