Love the fit - and I appreciate how the waist cinches to make sure they don't fall down. ***HOWEVER....the snap WILL NOT stay snapped, rendering the cinching useless. These pants do not stay fastened, especially with active movement / bending over / climbing. These should have a loop/hook closure, or an actual button. Anything would be more effective than a single snap.
Arc'teryx - can I send these back to have the snap swapped out for a buckle or something else?

Ok pair of climbing pants
Bought this last month. It's my 4th of 4 pairs. They've changed the snap around the waistband and now the snap on my most recent pair pops open whenever I'm doing a dynamic movement. Very annoying. I think they also changed the cut as the thighs feel a bit tighter than previous pairs.

Very disappointing purchase. Not a durable item as advertised. Many horizontal lines of imperfections in the fabric appeared on both thighs after the first laundering. Not what one would expect from an Arc'teryx garment.

Ok, some ladies are mad that the rise went up, others, like me, are happy. I'm not fat, but I AM curvy. I'm 5'7 and when I was 110 lbs and my hip bones were protruding, the smallest size I could wear was a 9. Now, many years later, I definitely carry more weight & its not as firm. However, my hips will NEVER fit within the boyish figure parameters. I need that higher rise, and would appreciate a little more room in the hips & thighs for better range of motion and breathability. Product lines need to start looking at WHO is buying their garments. We are curvy and tall and slim and short and busty and flat, etc. PLEASE develop lines to accommodate our differently-shaped bodies, and if you realize that a product line is always sold out, for the love of God, make more!

I love all of the Arcteryx designs and fabrics but am continually disappointed by the rise length in the short version of all the pants offered. I have tried all three current hiking styles (Gamma, Gamma LT, Hantun) and the rise is so long it creates this unattractive bunching of extra fabric when I sit or walk. Like a saggy crotch look which is very uncomfortable and unappealing. Everything else is perfect. For short people please consider a shorter rise. I don't know many short people with a 29" inseam and a 10" rise. The Palisade pant was great but you don't make them anymore. Those were an 8" rise. I really enjoy this technical fabric for year round hiking and the pockets, drawstring at hem to tighten over boots, and the waistband for backpacking. Please adjust the rise in future version so I can enjoy them too!

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I have purchased the Gamma pant before and loved them. This pair is however cut slimmer through hip and leg also rise is lower and this color is just ridiculous. How such a great brand changes its styles and makes them worse is beyond me.

These are not water resistant at all. Bought them for my everest trek, it rained the first day these were soaked thru in under 10 minutes.. my trekking partner had a 15 dollar pair of trekking pants that were not only water resistant but water proof. I bought these on lots of recommendations these are the pants to take, I will be buying the same 15 dollar pair my trekking partner has she bought off of one of the vendors here. If you want them to feel soft they're great but these are not for trekking, it's more aesthetica

I ordered this new style and returned right away. I need two pairs of these pants for winter hikings, but I really don't like the style and belt design of these revised Gamma Pants. I constantly search for inventories of older version, but not much luck so far...

Sizing Inconsistencies.
I tried on a revised size in store. I went home and bought that same size online the same day, marked as revised. When it arrived, it was very much not the same size. It is unwearable and embarrassingly baggy. This is a shame, I loved the fit in store. I was able to confirm that I was sent the unrevised version.
I explained to customer service and since it's outside of the 30 day return window, they will not do anything. He advised that I "always check the model number" on products in store and online. Um...what? Or just not buy from a company who misadvertises their products anymore.
