This shoes offers a spacious toebox and a great feel with each stride. I typically run in Hoka's but I will be switching to this shoe!

In addition to really liking the 4 MM drop, the Altra FWD Experience checks some boxes that are very important to me. Most importantly, I need a roomy toe box. I've read the reviews that mention how they are more narrow than the traditional Altra shoes, but I have no experience with them. The toe box is definitely roomy. I like a snug mid foot, and good heel lockdown. These shoes cover those things well. I also love the padded heal collar. The responsive feel is something I noticed right away. I've learned to appreciate that in my trail shoes, so this was a pleasant surprise. Finally, I switched to these from the Hoka Clifton 8. This shoe feels more stable, and likes to run fast more than the Cliftons do. This is a shoe that I'll wear for a very long time.

I find these shoes to be very nice and the right amount of cushioning as a training shoe and mileage shoe have run in Altra, Topo ,New balance, Saucony and others. These Altra FWD are one of my favorites. Only thing is the white shows too much dirt need more color choices!

Walking and working out but unable to run due to knee problems. Love the cushioning and the support. I have spent a small fortune on shoes but my search is over.

If you fit Olympus, Torin, or original footshape is perfect for you then do not buy. These actually feel significantly more narrow than my torin5s. Zero drop was killing my calves and Achilles tendon. I was super excited to try altra again when I seen they came out with this.

Comfortable with generous toe box. Easy transition from mid-sole strike and just enough cushioning. Weight seems appropriate for the shoe. Only 12 miles in, but they appear to be a solid training shoe. I previously ran in Nike and Brooks.

Altra read my mind! I run short distances (2-5 miles) and have always loved Altra shoes for trail running but wanted a slight heel to toe drop and a tad more cushioning for when running on harder surfaces. These fit the bill perfectly. I've run in these a couple of times now and I absolutely love them. The heel in the FWD feels significantly different than in the Lone Peak 7's. But not in a bad way. I really like these shoes.

I recently tried the Altra FWD experience running shoes, and I must say they exceeded my expectations in several ways. The roomy toe box is a game-changer, allowing my toes to move freely and comfortably. These shoes are not just great for running; they're fantastic for walking too, putting your feet in their most natural state. Compared to other running shoes I've tried, the Altra FWD experience stands out because of its unique design and the emphasis on foot comfort. The spacious toe box and zero-drop platform truly set it apart. I have many running and cross training shoes in my collection as current athlete and these have definitely made its way into my favorites based on sheer performance and comfort alone! The benefits of owning these shoes are immense. They promote better foot health, reduce the risk of blisters and discomfort, and enhance the overall running or walking experience. Their versatility for various activities is a big plus. I would definitely buy these shoes, and I plan to get another pair in a different color. I'm thoroughly impressed with their performance and comfort. I would highly recommend the Altra FWD experience running shoes to my friends and family, especially to those who are passionate about running or walking. These shoes are a fantastic investment in foot health and comfort.

This sneaker was surprisingly amazing! The toe box is wide enough to support a natural and healthy spread of the toes. It doesn't feel tight on your feet. It is so comfortable while walking or running. My father wears the same shoe size and I let him wear them. He said it is the most comfortable sneaker he has put on in a long time. We are both happy with the product.

This shoes are lightweight, comfortable as a cloud and provide stability when running. They have a wider toe than other running shoes I've owned providing more room for your foot to grip the ground.

These have become my new favorite long distance shoes. I'm very happy with the fit and the 4mm drop feels great. If Altra's shoes feel great for your feet as they do for mine, I highly recommend!

The Men's Altra FWD Experience is the best running shoe I have ever owned. As an avid but aging runner, I am always looking for shoes that allow me to keep running with minimal discomfort. The compression foam helps with shock absorption while running while also providing a comfortable feeling, minimizing fatigue. I absolutely love the lightweight design and large toe box, which is unique compared to other running shoes and gives your toes plenty of room to move. The rocker shape and low drop of the shoe make for a seamless heel-to-toe stride and feels as if it gives you assistance on your toe-off. I used these shoes for both road and trail running and definitely noticed a positive difference in my performance and running fatigue. Oh, and not only do they perform well but they also look amazing as well. These will be my go-to brand of running footwear going forward and I would highly recommend them!

kindly Altra gave me this Altra FWD Experience Running shoes for free through the BzzAgent sampling program so that I could review it. Altra shoes are the best on the market for walking, running, and daily use. The wide toe box, low heel-toe offset. They let your foot do what it wants to do and is perfect for running as your feet expand over a run they do not get uncomfortable. These shoes are lightweight and has a roomy toe box, which I think is why they feel so comfortable. Taking steps in them, you can feel the cushioning with every step. With AltraFWD Experience our feet will be healthier and also the rest o f your body. I Will definitely buy again and recommend it.

Absolutely in love with this shoe. Bought it as recovery shoe. Decided to go ahead and take it out for a run. Throughly enjoyed it. I will add it to my rotation of runners to mix it up a little bit (only run in zero drop besides these). I guess I will go ahead and buy another pair for recovery and casual wear. I recommend getting the same size you get in the Torin 7. Thanks Altra! Just make sure you don't stop making zero drop.

I have used many other running shoe brands through my life and I am truly impressed with the comfort and support of the AltraFWD Experience! The shoes are extremely comfortable with tons of cushion and they still provide perfect support that don't leave your feet hurting after a long run. The low drop and rocker shape provides an effortless running experience and the large toe box is really helpful to reduce the pain after a long run. I am really impressed by these shoes!

Overview: The AltraFWD Experience is a fresh take from Altra, stepping slightly away from their trademark zero-drop design by introducing a 4mm heel-to-toe drop. It still keeps the brand's signature wide toe box, which I've always appreciated for the natural foot splay it allows. On the flip side, my usual go-to, the Hoka Clifton 11, sticks with its established comfy upper and abundant cushioning, offering a plush ride. While the AltraFWD feels lighter on the foot, the Hoka Clifton 11 provides a more cushioned, yet still light, running experience. Pros: Lightweight: Right off the bat, I noticed how light these shoes felt during my runs. The new compression-molded EVA surely plays a part in this, making short runs feel snappy and long runs less of a chore. Natural Foot Shape: I've always been a fan of Altra's foot-shaped toe box design, and I'm glad they've kept this feature, allowing for a comfy, natural toe splay. Rocker Shape Geometry: The rocker shape aids in a smooth transition through each stride. Especially during longer runs, this feature helps in keeping a good form even when fatigue kicks in. Cons: Heel Durability: I did notice that the outsole rubber in the heel area could use a bit more coverage, especially for those who tend to heel-strike more. Adjustment Period: Transitioning from a zero-drop design, there was a slight adjustment period getting used to the 4mm drop. Bottom Line: The AltraFWD Experience is a delightful mix of lightness and a minimalist yet cushioned feel, making it a solid choice for those who like a slight heel drop with their natural foot mechanics. It's quickly becoming my go-to shoe for daily training. On the other hand, the Hoka Clifton 11, with its plush cushioning and comfortable upper, remains a reliable pick for those long-distance outings where underfoot comfort is key - especially if walking is more of yoru thing. Your preference between the two would likely hinge on your comfort level with heel drop and cushioning.

I put these on my feet (there are dedicated ones for the LEFT and RIGHT foot). They go between my foot and the ground - which is helpful, because the ground is sharp and my feet are soft. In all seriousness, They support my [considerable] weight, give me bounce, and are honestly the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I have chronic plantar fasciitis, and these shoes really help. Long-wear comfort.

Altra FWD Experience is an amazing shoe with great heel and midfoot lock down, plenty of toe box space, and a midsole that reminded me of Quantic used is Torin 4.5 and Timp 2/3. I've been running solely in zero drop and didn't even notice the 4mm drop. I like rotating this shoe the Vanish Tempo. It felt peppy, comfortable, and secure. Overall, awesome shoe that I hope is as durable as it is comfortable, time will tell.
