Ultra runner preparing for a 100-miler. This is now probably the 5th or 6th pair of Altras that have completely ripped on the sides. No more Altras, too bad as this is a good shoe just not durable

Some days they are great, and other days they squeak insanely. So irritating.

I made the switch to wide toe box, zero drop, barefoot shoes about a year ago. Absolutely love the fit an function of that style shoe, with the exception of almost no cushioning under foot. Thus, I was very excited to be chosen to receive my first pair of Altra shoes thru BZZAGENT. Altra is known for their zero drop, wide toe box designs, but with added cushioning!
The shoes I received are the Outroad 2 model. Unfortunately, they fit about a full size too small, and the wide toe box is almost nonexistent. The Outroad 2 is of the slimmest design offered by Altra. The slim fit takes away nearly all of the wideness of the toe box, almost back to a regular athletic shoe.
Between the shoe being way too short, and no wide toe box, needless to say I was very disappointed. Unwearable for me.
Thus, I can only comment that the Outroad 2 runs quite small, and do not expect the usual wide toe box fit Altra is known for.
Luckily, a local running shop let me trade the Outroad 2 for the Altra Lone Peak 7. True shoe bliss!

I started buying altars for the wide foot shaped toe box. Over the last 3-4 years I've had problems finding shoes that fit and have noticed all your shoes are so narrow now amd the shoes you offer a wide size are always sold out. Stop making narrow shoes. Go back to making wide shoes for who are active and have natural shaped feet. I'm tired of buying and returning several pairs to find one that fits.

Purchased at a local runners roost. Shoe felt great in the store. Love that they accommodate wide feet. Can't use a shoe that doesn't lace though. 1/5 for bad quality.

This show is not true to Altra. I've been a long time customer and when I saw a hybrid shoe that was for road and trail, I thought how perfect that could be. Well, it's far from that. First the good, I like the arch support. I can feel that support during my runs. I also like the tread, it's not super aggressive but great for gravel, limestone and hard dirt. That's about it for the likes. Now the dislikes. This is a stiff shoe, hard to feel the ground below on the trail. I like a shoe that's a bit more responsive to the conditions. The upper feels extremely thin and I instantly thought the durability would hit last with this shoe. It is also extremely warm and doesn't allow your feet to breathe. It also doesn't help that everything is super tight. No wide toebox in these shoes. By mile 7 my feet were screaming to break free. Lastly, the laces. They are at least 4" to short and it you want to use the heal lock method, forget about it. All in all, of you're a Altra runner, these shoes are not for you. Too tight, poor durability and not responsive.

This is truly bad. I bought these shoes at over $130. I have barely put a few hundred miles on them and they have tears in both uppers. These are all purely road miles. What the heck! And now I have to go through the Kafkaesque monkey dance of putting in a claim? Notwithstanding, I am out of here. Making running shoes in the hopes that they won't be used is low. Never again.

I purchased these shoes. They start to fall apart after 7 months. I submit a warranty claim. The company says that's just normal wear and tear. I write a review complaining about the quality of the shoe and the warranty. Altra gets back to me saying "We would love to talk more with you about your experience. We will have a representative from our Customer Care Team reach out to you". What does Customer Care say? We stand by our products, here is how you submit a warranty claim. What a joke. Don't purchase these shoes.

I normally love Altra shoes but after about 7 months of light use they started to tear on the side of the shoe. I submitted the shoes for a warranty claim and it was determined to be normal wear and tear. You can't make a shoe that can last a whole year without starting to fall apart? Add Altra to a growing list of companies where higher costs don't correlate to a quality product.

Very disappointed in Altra. I have used these shoes occasionally since purchasing them in July 2023. In the 5 months of owning them I have put less than 130mi on these shoes and the lateral side of the right shoe has come apart.
I contacted Altra's customer service team but was told this was 'normal wear and tear'.
If this is the new normal for Altra I will be moving on from them with my next shoe purchases after many successful pairs previously. Avoid these shoes - they are very fragile. Probably time to avoid Altra as they no longer stand behind their products.

I have owned these 9 months and not only did they immediately squeak every step, but they developed holes in the back heal area. I contacted Altra and they said they can't honor the 1 year warranty because this is "normal wear & tear". I am very disappointed in Altra. I have purchased multiple pairs of shoes the last few years and have never had an issue until these shoes. I'm going to stop supporting Altra since their warranty is obviously non-existent! BUYER BEWARE!
