Extremely comfortable and durable for road running and trail. The more I wore them, the more comfortable they got. The laces lock in very tight which I like and the material dries out quickly when running thru water puddles.

Bought 2 pairs. Great shoes. Use them for workouts and casual use. Never run in them but I'm sure they would do great. I use the olympus for running. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I've owned. They are durable and the slimmer toe box is great.

I loved the Outroad 2s! They were as advertised, perfect for road and trail. Most of my training runs incorporate both of these surfaces and I had a seem less transition. The lugs were low enough that road running was comfortable, but high enough to give me some good traction on hills. They look good and feel comfortable.
The only problem I've faced was that they felt a half size too small. I'm a size 12 fit and always run in 13s. When I ordered these in 13,it was just a bit small. Even with using heel lock lacing, my big toe keeps hitting the front of the shoe. During weekly trainings, that was insignificant.
However, I ran a 50K over the weekend in them. It was mostly trail, but had about 9 miles of road. These shoes were the perfect ones for this race, except for the sizing issue. I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose a toenail. Based on how my feet felt during the race, I'm surprised it is only one. I am ready to order the next size of these. I hope Altra keeps making them! They're a great product. 4. 5 stars!

These are my favorite Altra shoe! One recommendation please: fix the color waves. Black please. The original outroad black was solid - I even changed out the neon green laces to black.

I ordered a half size larger. Perfect fit. Really great shoe. Haven't done any trail running with them yet, but are great on the pavement and treadmill.

I run mostly roads with my Outroads but they're more than enough for most trails too. I actually wore my 1st pair for a 50 mile trail race earlier this summer. I love them.

The Altra Men's Outroad 2 was provided in ordered to test run and review. The Outroad 2 had a more cushion than I was expecting. It provided a comfortable feel without overdoing too much lift. The traction was fantastic and gave a great grip of the trail. Overall, it had a good snug feel and was functional.

These shoes are so comfortable. I usually experience pain in the ball of my foot after wearing my shoes for a workout. I wore these all day with nothing but comfort. I highly recommend them and I will be buying this brand from here on out. It's nice to not have foot pain after and be able to have great support,with a little height,all day.

I had a small ankle injury before getting to try these out. But once I did they are sturdy and held up with no issues with my ankle when running or hiking. They are very comfortable and fit true to size.
They took some time getting used to as my other trail running shoes are very flat. These have more of a curve. But this is actually a good thing for these shoes. I think my old shoes may be the reason my ankle was hurting.
No complaints about this shoe. The color isn't my favorite but for the sake of wearing them for running, no issues.

I really love these shoes. They're a good mix between a hardcore trail running shoe and my road shoes.
In addition to these outroads I also have the Altra Lone Peak 6 and the outroads have a slightly narrower toe box (sill much wider than other brands) and these also feel about 1/2 size smaller than the Lone Peak (I wear a 10.5 lone peak and 11 in the Outroad and 11 in all other brands). The traction lugs on the Outroad are toned down slightly vs the lone peak but still more aggressive than road shoes. Where I run, I do about 2 miles on the road before getting to the dirt trailhead and don't mind running along the road.
Under foot these feel great, there's a decent amount of padding it's not a minimalist shoe where you feel any uneven terrain, but there's enough feedback that you can feel roots, rocks, etc to know how your foot placement is when on the trail. I love the wider toe box and feel like my feet are not as compressed as they are in other shoes. With time I may just use these as my road shoes too.

I tried the Altra Outroad 2 running shoes. I was very impressed with the style of this shoe. It was really eye catching and had very stylish color choices. The shoe compared nicely to my high end Nike running shoes. The Altra Outroad 2 had solid support on the instep and provided balance and stability on races up to 10 miles. I was impressed by the design that fit to my foot and limited the blisters I normally experienced on this length run. The shoe could have provided more arch support. I was overall very happy with this product

First off I have plantar fasciitis so shoes are very important to me. Comfort and arch especially in walking and running shoes. This is the first time buying this brand,I will say I will definitely be buying this brand again.
They have many different styles and colors to choose from. You will not go wrong with this running shoe.

I love these shoes. They fit really well. I have a wider foot and these are great. Running in them is great too. On the road I have the right amount of cushion. On the trail they have a good grib. I wouldn't go hiking in them. But they are great on a small trail run.

I was a bit skeptical of the shoe at first since it felt a little more snug than expected and I usually wear shoes with a little more drop. Within minutes of wearing these they disappeared on my feet and felt great. They feel equally at home on and off the road. The amount of cushion on my Hokas sometimes feels more fatiguing than a more minimal shoe, but I didn't have that problem with these. I don't believe that has a plate, so I could see it being an issue on very rocky trails, but there is a good amount of stiffness still. Great all-round running shoe.

I was surprised how comfortable the shoes are. They fit snug which you want for running shoes and they have a nice spring feel while walking and running. They look good and are of good quality. Consider to buy more in the future. I would recommend to family and friends.

The color is definitely light blue, which surprised me based on the web photos. I literally had to watch a YouTube and painted them myself(oddly fun). I have been buying Altras for 10 yrs and this was surprising. The shoe is phenomenal as usual and I'll buy them again.

I wear an Altra women’s size 9.5. The mens size 8 is more like a mens 6.5 or 7. Didn’t love the yellow soles. Guaranteed to look dirty fast.

This fit great right out of the box. Walking and running in the was comfortable. They have a nice spring to them with every step. The colors are good, not super vibrant which is my preference.
The one downside I saw with these are that the front shape is very odd. Maybe it's a preference thing, but I found the front of them to be unnecessarily large and "club" like.

Shoes are very well made, light weight and excellent quality materials. The sole is made very well and would seem to last a long time. I love the color scheme as well, the only issue I had was the shoes were a bit too narrow and tight on the top of my foot. The length was perfect, just tight at the top of the shoes. Great brand non the less!
