I am so disappointed in these shoes. I LOVED the Torin 6 and was so excited to try the 7. I do like the new tongue and the heel is more comfortable. Unfortunately, in the redesign the toe box is smaller and more narrow. I even tried moving the laces up to give more room and it was too tight. My feet started to go numb after only an hour of wear. I will be returning these.

The Altra Torin 7 is an excellent update from the previous model! The extra stack height gave me more protection underfoot, which I always appreciate as a runner who carries high weekly mileage on the road. Though the Torin 7 sports Altra's hallmark extra-roomy toe box, the updated construction of the upper afforded me a more secure fit through the midfoot. The new heel collar more closely cradled my heel, and helps to prevent any slippage. And I'm sure I won't be the first to say it, but THANK GOODNESS for the update on the shoe's tongue: It's more comfortable and less invasive than its predecessor. Overall, I have been enjoying the Altra Torin 7 for light miles out on the trail or long days walking on my feet. In my picture here, my partner sports the old model Torin and I'm sporting the new for a full day walking at Disney World. It's truly the perfect shoe for being on your feet all day! It is breathable, comfy, and a solid neutral workhorse option for runners and walkers of all skill levels.

Such a great shoe! Altra did some great things with this one. As someone who wears mainly original footshape, it's more snug than I'm used to but still super enjoyable, fun everyday shoe for me!

I was given a pair of Altra Women's Running Torin 7 shoes in return for an honest review. After 3 weeks with them, I have to say... I really like them. I need a neutral running shoe; too high a drop and my IT band flares up, but it can be a challenge for me to find a neutral running shoe that has enough cushion (I'm not a spring chicken anymore and my joints needs a little more TLC than they did in my 20s) without also being incredibly heavy. Also, living in the city, I run on pavement more often than I do trails so I need a shoe that can stand up to a lot of asphalt. The Torin 7 checks all of those boxes for me. It's very cushy and springy when my foot hits the pavement; a very comfortable trip for my feet and easy on my knees and hips. While it's not the lightest shoe I've ever run in, it's definitely the lightest for the amount of cushioning it offers. And the insoles are terrific. When I get new running shoes I often switch out the insoles they come with for something better, but Altra's insole foam is GREAT. I feel no need to replace it, and especially appreciate feeling the support under my arch. Seeing as how replacement insoles can easily run $50 or more, it's nice that Altra provides great insole foam with the shoe itself. The zero drop keeps my IT band happy, and while I do more road running than trail, I found it a good shoe for the dirt trails in Central Park as well. If that weren't enough, it's also a great shoe for daily wear, too; I've worn them on days I've walked 10 miles and my back has felt fine at the end of the day. My only criticism of the shoe is that it can be a little warm (I like to run in wool socks with a bit of cushion), but I think the other benefits of the shoe more than compensate. This would probably be a plus in wintertime; I just happen to be trying them out in summer. I'm including a photo; I'm a little embarrassed about it as I managed to get them really dirty on my run today, but it's because they have been well loved the past three weeks. The Torin 7 is a really nice running shoe and I'm looking forward to continuing to run in them. I had not heard of Altra before this, and I am now a convert. I highly recommend them.

I received this product free in exchange for a review. However, I would absolutely spend my own money on them and definitely plan to get another pair. I have multiple other pairs of sneakers to choose from, but I have chosen to wear these non-stop since getting them. I've run, walked several miles, worked out, and worn them casually, and they've been amazing for every single occasion. I struggle with foot pain due to plantar fasciitis, so my feet end up hurting after wearing most shoes, but my feet feel exactly the same in these shoes. They also keep my feet super stable & secure with working out doing stuff like lateral walks, lunges, and jumps. I'm a 7.5/8 typically, and the size 8 fit perfectly for me (I don't wear socks with them).

These shoes were so comfortable in the toe box and in regard to cushioning. I like that they actually follow the shape of your feet. I wanted to keep them, but both shoes rubbed against my ankle bones. My normal shoe size is 9.5. Sometimes I have to get a 10 in running shoes, but the 9.5 in these fit fine. Sadly, I had to return them.

Lemme start by saying kudos on fixing the tongue, despite it taking way too long to do. I've been wearing Altra's since around 2014 and some of the core things that made this brand are being lost. I have a Neuroma so the natural tow box has been everything. The Torin has been my jam for a while, but after the Plush went away, I just can't seem to flake these work. I'm currently running in the 7's and the toe box is snug on my right foot but not too snug on my left. My foot goes numb after 4 miles and I have to wiggle it back. My feet are not wide by measurement - these shoes are just feeling like every other brand. Bring back the original fit please. Or at least offer a custom version. I'd pay premium for how things used to be.

If you are looking to replace your Torin Plush 4.5 this is not it. It's closer, however the toe box is as shallow as your ex-partner. So shallow that my toe pokes into the mesh while standing still with thin socks. Also the heal is too deep in my size causing it to hit my ankle bone with every step. Ouch. The photos are of the Torin 7 vs the Provision 7 in a women's size 6.5

I had a pair of Torin 6 Wides that I loved, but after walking several half marathons along with the training for each it was time to replace them. Bought the Torin 7 Wide & within 2 miles on a paved trail my feet were in severe pain from being squeezed in a shoe that's too narrow. Barely managed to get back to the vehicle. I will promptly be returning these. I'm very disappointed that these are not truly wide shoes!!

The shoe is much narrower than the Torin 6. The WORST part about this shoe is it's VERY hard around the ankle. It goes up too high, right on my ankle and the shoe is like rock hard on that spot. So sore

I've been wearing altras exclusively for a while now and they have slowly evolved to being the same as every other shoe in the store. They use to have a wider toe box, they've shrunk it to the "standard" fit. I now have to order a wide to get the same feel in the toe box and then my heels slip. There's also only one color in the wide option and it's usually not the prettiest. I just received a pair of the torin 7s and they are stiff and rigid. I couldn't bend them. They are narrow and not anything like what altra was. They are going back and I'm looking for a different brand.

Too stiff and narrow, Altras are no longer true to their origins. They hurt and this is the second pair like this, the other one I had to send back for the same reason were the Escalante.

Why can't Altra leave shoes alone? First it was the tongue 2 versions ago or so, now its the ankle. The cut out that goes under the ankle is ... hitting the ankle. Altra, if you want to change something about the shoe, change the dang color or laces but leave the dang design ALONE. So tired of this ....

I am getting more and more disappointed with Altra. These shoes out of the caused numbness and pain through the top of my foot. The only relief I can get is taking the insoles out of the shoes. However, I bought the shoes for added cushion and taking the insoles out defeats the purpose. While I have loved other Altra shoes (mainly Superior 5), I will have to switch from altra altogether. The width of the shoes keeps decreasing. I can get just a wide shoes from other companies that have better quality. Disappointed all around.

When the clerk suggested these, I thought they looked ridiculous, but when I tried them on they felt great and have been terrific for my toes that felt crushed in other shoes.

After multiple foot and ankle surgeries these seem to be the most comfortable out of all sneakers.

I absolutely love these shoes. They are incredibly comfortable and the look is great, too. I had to size up to a 9 in these when my usual size is 8.5.

I have never written an online review until these shoes I LOVE them. I run ~30 miles a week and these serve as my easy running / every day training shoes. I was nervous about going into a zero drop but have had no issues. I primarily run pavement but have also used these on trail. Will be repeat buying these.

I have been wearing this Altra Running US women's Torin 7 shoes for my daily runs and love how supportive they are. They are very lightweight, breathable and cushiony and my feet don't hurt even after wearing them all day. I also love the footshape comfort design that fits my feet like a glove.

I have worn Altra shoes almost from the very beginning of the company. The new "standard" foot shape does not work for me. After a lot of trying different models and sizes I settled on the Torin in size wide that I am making due with. The heel slips a bit- because I just need a wider toebox, not a wider shoe. The only high cushioned truly running shoe with the Original fit is a rocker - which I can not use. Is anyone listening to customers response to shoe changes? Will everyone else who is not happy with the new footshapes please write a review? The foot shape is what made Altra what it is, I am beyond disappointed with the changes made by the new owners.

I love Torins, but these uppers are so ridiculously flimsy for their price point and the colour ways are either boring or hideously ghastly. That salmon colour is disgusting.

Why can't y'all bring back the Torin 4.5??? I started wearing Altra with this shoe and it's had thousands of positive reviews. Since the new styles they are mostly negative and only in the hundreds. Just bring back what you excelled at! Call it whatever whatever you want just bring the shoe style and design back !!!!

I purchased these for walking/running. I have had bunion surgery on both feet without complication. These give me plenty of room in the toe box, and the arch support is great. There's a slight difference in the heel height versus the rest of the shoe but very comfortable. They remind me of earth shoes from back in the day.
