I've been running exclusively in the Paradigm for nearly 10 years but the Paradigm 7 is so awful, I am done. The toe box is so tight it hurts the sides of my feet by the base of my toes. I just got back from a long run and they rubbed a huge spot on my foot raw through my sock and bled all over the shoe. I kept trying to make them work but they're going in the trash at this point. The shoe overall is so stiff it makes my arches and ankles hurt. It feels like I've got planks strapped to my feet rather than bending with my foot. I bought the Torin 7 and experienced the same problems. The Torin 8 I recently got and they've removed the overlay on the toe box so it's like the Paradigm 6 toe box, doesn't rub on my feet, and the shoe flexes with my foot so it'll do I guess. The experience line has the toe box I like but it's got a 4mm drop and the sole wears out very quickly. I don't understand why Altra keeps making all their zero drop models with more narrow toe boxes. It's incredibly frustrating but I need the zero drop or I feel it in my knees. I've wasted so much money on various new Altra models I can't use for running at all.

The wide tie box is wonderful. But the “zero drop” caused significant discomfort in my legs as this positioning changes the stresses on muscles.

These shoes are quite comfortable, I have hallux rigidus and really enjoy the support. The problem is that I bought black because I wear them all day at work, these are NOT black. Mine are dark green! Laces are weird and stretchy, but so far don't cause a problem. Excellent to walk and to run in, but sadly, I'll have to find another shoe who can deliver on the colour. I love Altra, I've been running in this brand for years. Have I mentioned the colour is way off :-(

I ordered these in Black and they are dark green. They have some black accents but they are NOT black. Disappointed in the color. I will have to wait a few days before I can tell the comfort. I would not recommend based on if you were looking for Black.

I have worn these sneakers for years, run multiple marathons with zero issues. But the 7s for some reason give me the worst blisters on the inside of my foot. Love my altras but please fix!!

I love my Paradigm 6 shoes but they are no longer available. The only similarity between the P6 and P7 is the wide toe box which is standard for all Altra shoes and one of the reasons i tried them in the first place.
The P6s are well cushioned and my feet feel great after running or walking. The P7s feel like hard rubber without cushioning. After a 5 mile run, I had a blister on the sole of one of my feet and a blister on the side of my foot. Walking 5 miles was not much better. Furthermore, even wearing them during the day to run errands or a simple sniff and stroll with my senior dog causes these shoes to hurt my feet. I'm so disappointed that Altra made the change to remove the excellent cushioning in the P7s.

I love Altras and ran a marathon in an older generation of Paradigm. However, these shoes, although comfortable in the store, have left me with blisters every run. I thought I just needed to break them in a bit, but 50 miles later it's the same :( Inside edge blisters (see gross Pic). I have wide feet and got the wide version, but the midsole isn't right.

I got these shoes in size 10.5Wide in womens size and an equivalent 9Wide in mens size. Both pairs felt exactly the same. The footbed of the shoe felt too narrow and my foot was "spilling" over the sole, which would typically cause pain or even blisters on the bottom on my feet. At the same time there was too much fabric on top of the shoe like they were made for someone with regular width feet and very fool top of the foot. I see this being a good option for a person on a heavier side or someone whose feet significantly swell. My feet were swimming in these shoes while spilling over regular (narrow for me) footbed. Unfortunately this is the issue with the most shoes marketed as "wide". The toe box is nice roomy.

Ordered according to how I fit Brooks and the paradigm 7 was way too large. I look forward to trying them in a size smaller. Return was super easy.

The difference between the 9.5 and 10s is ginormous. I feel like I'm flipping around in them

Good sizing (went up about .5), but ripped at the heel within a couple months. Sad that the quality has gone down hill on these.

I've purchased the Paradigm for years and have always loved the fit and feel of this style until the 7 was released. I bought a pair as soon as my local running store had them in stock, but found out within my first 5 runs in this shoe that the footbed or quality of materials had changed. While I still feet arch support, the edge of footbed insert sits under my foot instead of slightly to the side like a glove. After this realization, I would alternate between my favorite 6 and this pair of 7s hoping it was a fluke, but sadly it was not. I kept them too long to return to my local store, and I didn't keep the receipt anyway because I was sure I would love them. Oh well, fingers crossed for going back to the 5/6 style drawing board when they release the paradigm 8!

I was so excited to get a better shoe but the fit in the forefront of the shoe is too shallow. The 6 version was way more comfortable and I hope they bring it back because I am so scared my old ones give out and that I will have to wear the newer ones to work.

I ordered the regular size because my feet tend to be narrower, but even then the size seven was too narrow. I felt the hard edges of the shoe digging into my arches, so I will return and order a size 7 wide. I don't agree with the reviews about not enough padding. In fact, I'm not sure what they're even talking about. There's so much padding. I bought these as I'm trying to change my stride so that I have a midsole/forefoot foot strike and the padding in the forefoot area along with the wider toe box really supports and encourages my new midsole/forefoot foot strike. I haven't tried the wide yet, but here's hoping that one works out because I love the rest of the shoe.

This shoes feels so comfortable when walking. However the material is much too thin and wears out easily. These shoes are not economical for their durability.

I loved these but had to return. The back of the shoe comes up too high and rubs like crazy. Hoping to find something else that works.

I've purchased this model of Altra for my last few pair of running shoes. This newer version is way too hard and causes pain in my legs. Please go back to how they were.

I ordered the Black-- These are more dark green. These are also way bigger than the same size Paradigm 6. I've worn the Paradigm 6 for several years.

These are not black!! I have another pair of these in the light blue. They are probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I have high arches, narrow heels and a problem with my little toe that requires a wide toe box. These are the only shoes that don't hurt my feet. They are ugly though. I thought getting black would at least minimize them. But it turns out the black ones are not black, they are forest green! I don't get why they are labeled as black. I thought at first I'd received another color in the box labeled black but there are none that are forest green so... apparently Altra thinks green is black. Sigh. Photo attached to show the difference between the shoes and a pair of black leggings.

The toe box was wide & felt fine. I did not like the thin laces. Also, the tab at the back ankle rubbed. This is why I had to return.

I am with everyone else the shoe itself is great BUT Altra made these too narrow. The insole cuts into the inner part of my arch. Huge bummer Altra is moving away from the roomy toe box/shoe. I wish they would also make the black ones in wide so I could try them out. Onto the search of a new shoe

Very comfy-love this shoe. Was wearing OnCloud before. I use for walking 3-4 miles a day. Disappointed after a month both sides have holes in them. For 150.00+ should last longer
