I loved the previous Paradigm. This version feels hard without much cushion. The shoe looks great, but does not deliver.

The fit was good. But the cushion inside was too thick and flat. I did not feel like I could feel my steps. Also the sole extended out too far on sides (near heel). I wanted to like these.

Extremely uncomfortable if you suffer from plantar fasciitis. I experienced a lot of heel pain with these shoes. TOPO are now my perfect brand shoe for walking with ease.

I love Altra shoes, but this pair after wearing them twice, a hole has appeared where my big toes hit. I have owned at least a dozen pair of Altra's and this has never happened before. Trying to get in touch with customer service is a joke. May have to rethink my shoe brand for running shoes.

The new model is terrible! Loved the 6 and bought them while I could. Sadly the 7 has less cushion and is so stiff. My feet hurt badly after each run. Tried to give them multiple chances because they were new but they still kept making my feet hurt. Going to have to find a different option.

I have run in altra's for a while. These are TERRIBLE. They are so hard and uncomfortable and I can't stand them. Bring back the 6 mid sole. Did I say these are TERRIBLE? There is NOTHING worse than finding something you love and a mfg changing it.

I ran 3 long runs in these sneakers. 1st one was great. 2nd one, the sneaker was digging into the base of the front of my ankle. The third run I barely finished and couldn't get the sneaker off fast enough. My tendon is bruised and swollen. Altra needs to redesign this shoe for the next release.

Comfortable shoe BUT the tongue is not wide enough. When walking, the tongue keeps sliding to the side, resulting in the other side of the foot being exposed to the laces. Very disappointing. Expected better quality for this price.

I don't know what happened to Altra shoes in general, but I've now returned several different styles over the last month. I just returned the Paradigm 7 pair that was delivered today. They do not fit the same, there is no cushioning and there seems to be not enough fabric so they are tight across my toes. I used to wear Paradigm all the time, but the 7 is a whole different animal.

Love the Paradigm 6. This style does not fit correctly and the toe box is too small. Please bring back the 6 style as it was loved by many.

I have run in Paradigms for a few years - loved the toe box room and ample but not over the top cushioning. Just got the Paradigm 7 and whoa - not the same shoe. Super hard underfoot - none of the cushioning of the prior versions. My feet were tired and sore after 3 miles. I get it that designs change but then put a big warning on it - THIS IS NOT THE SAME SHOE AS V6.

I have ordered these twice now. The first time I got the pair one was a size 9 and the other a size 8. So I sent them back and ordered again and the same thing happened :(

This was comfortable and I loved it: except for the constant squeak. I have two pairs of Altra Paradigm 6. One pair squeaked when I got it and the other did not. I foolishly thought the squeak would go away when they had been broken in but it did not. I will never again keep a pair that squeaks so back these go...

I don't care for this shoe I have walked 68-10 miles a day. They feel like geriatric shoes too spongy and bulky! The very reputable store tried to tell me I needed a stability shoe. I was wearing the AltraTimp 4 x 4 pairs and loved them. They sold me this pair . What a waist of money. They watched me walk and told me this was the shoe for me! . Geeze I wish I could have gotten my money back!!! I even have custom orthotics which did not improve the shoe at alll - they were like MUSH!!!
Don't let anyone talk you into these shoesif they don't feel right walk away. This youngster watched me walk for 2 minutes and said I needed a stability shoe. Sadly the stores are coached by the manufacturer and stores. Be your own judge and don't listen to these folks in the stores who think " they know what shoe fits you best". So wish I had my money back!!! I had 4 pairs of the Altra Timp 4 and they were the best!!!!!! Altra is a good company. But go with what your feet say, and ignore the young sales expert!!!

I loved my Paradigm 6s. The 7 version is awful. Gone is the feeling of running on a cloud. Gone is the room for my high arches. Gone is the perfect running shoe. Altra ruined the Paradigm.

I came to the Altra Paradigm by way of several runners' articles, which recommended it for sesamoiditis -- a painful foot condition. The recommendation was based on the shoe's substantial cushioning.
I've got chronically fractured sesamoids, as well as bunions, a hammertoe, and stress fractures. All of these are due to my high arch.
The Paradigm could *not* accommodate my high arch. Nor was it particularly wide. The shoe has the Altra "Standard" footbed -- which is markedly more narrow that its "Original" footbed.
Customer Service at Altra was truly helpful, and steered me towards their (very few) shoes with the "Original foot shape." These widest shoes are also much higher than the Paradigm, necessary for my high arch. The shoe-word for this height is "volume."
I returned the Paradigm and purchased the Via Olympus. Both the Via Olympus and Via Olympus 2 feature the "Original" "foot shape." I ordered my shoe a full size larger than my routine size, in order to accommodate my toe spacers and orthotics.
If you have a high arch and attendant foot problems, I recommend the Altra Via Olympus shoes.
But it's a shame that the most common width at Altra is *not* the widest one they make.

I researched shoes that had a wider toebox because of my bunions on both feet. I had NEVER heard of Altra
. When I tried on the paradigm 6 last year I feel in love with this perfect shoe for my feet. I bought 3 pair immediately! Loved the roomy toebox, cushioned insole, and the 0 drop shoe. When I tried on the paradigm 7, I was soooo disappointed! Narrow toebox, stiffer insole. Totally different shoe! Nothing like the paradigm 6!!!! Why can't they leave a good shoe alone? I am now searching for as many paradigm 6 shoes that I can.

I'm not sure how many pairs of Paradigms I've had, but my feet didn't like the new 7s. Fronts of feet were warm and uncomfortable when walking. I'm not sure why ... Maybe the cushioning, new material, or slightly narrower toe box.. Anyway glad there were still some 6's available in my size

I had to send the back because after I rubbed big blisters on the back of my heels after my first run. I think the issue is that, for me, they come up too high in the back. I didn't feel it when i was running but when I stopped to walk it was pretty bad. I know people that love them so just an issue with my foot and ankle shape. They company was GREAT when I reached out and helped me with the process to send them back! SUPER customer service.

I loved my original Paradigm 6-I put over 600 miles on my first pair and my feet never hurt post surgery. Decided to try the new #7 2023 shoe and returned it. I got blisters on both feet and nerve pain as they made them more narrow. So I picked up another #6 in dark teal before everything sold out. They are great as well!! I should be set now for over a yer. Then what will I do?? Scary thought!!

I own several Altra shoes. Mostly paradigm. I've had 3 paradigm 6 and the redesign for the paradigm 7 has taken what was a comfy cushioned shoe that could wear all day, to really uncomfortable bottom which is really hard. Wore these for two walks and a short run and my feet were really sore. I loved the design of the 6. Wish they'd leave a good thing alone. The overall look of the 7 is ok.
