Happy but also sad. I loved this jacket it did preform really well, BUT it wetted out by the end of 1 day skiing in the mountains. Truly and all around jacket, BUT if it's snowing all day, you're gunna get wet. At least I did. My assumption is if it hadn't been snowing this would have been a 5 star review. But I'm glad it did and just think it's valuable information bc making decisions on $$$$ jackets can be a life savor or deal breaker, you decide.

It feels lighter than other Goretex Pro Arc'teryx jackets. It does not have a ski pass pocket. It does have Recco. But I have had the jacket for less than a month and I am still getting used to it. I expect it to perform as intended but probably won't have enough information for a valid review. I would suggest, a 1 month, 6 month and 11 month review process.

Just hit the slopes with this for the first time today. Felt great! By far my favorite jacket Ive worn thus far. Great wind proof capability and of course, very waterproof. Got a lil warm at one point and even had to shed some base layers thanks to this jacket. 10/10

This is a heavy-duty, well-built hardshell. I use this jacket when I know conditions are going to be epic and really wet.

Use during the spring and fall when weather is not so intense. Works well also on colder summer days because of the vents under the arms. On feature I dislike is the hood that is designed for a helmet. Hood ids way to big using otherwise. Would be nice when purchasing the coat to have an option of a standard hood. Love the smooth operating zippers. Not sharp edges like the standards zippers of other clothing! All around excellent product. (This is my 3rd coat!!)

I found the jacket as described on the website. I reviewed the sizing chart repeatedly before purchasing, and it turned out to be correct for me. The fit was perfect, which has been a challenge. I'm 5'10", 195 lbs, with a chest of 46-47 inches, and long arms. It's light, well designed, with very functional pockets, and a collar that's separate from the hood. All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I really like this jacket. It has been with me through the snow and rainy seasons and all the outdoor experiences. I am very grateful for the protection it provides me.

Ive had this jacket about a year now, only one winter. When layered properly this thing is solid in the snow. Rest of the year I wear it on its own when it rains and its perfect. Doesnt get better than this!!

This shell is an amazing rain jacket. I bought mine in 2021. Recently, on a 6-day, 5-night spring Smokies Mountains trip, it rained hard every day except for the days when it was snowing! Needless to say, it was cold and wet. Out of our group of 8 hikers, I was the only one with an Arcteryx jacket (the Beta AR), and I was the only one in the group that stayed dry throughout the trip. After the trip I noticed some delamination on the sleeves, but Arcteryx warranty is excellent and they covered the replacement cost of the jacket. Buy the jacket, use it, enjoy it, and wash it more often than you think you should.

Purchased this product 2 months ago so I haven't needed to wear it very often so far in the summer months, but living next to lake superior in upper michigan on the cold windy/rainy days it hasn't let me down. Weather it's MT biking in the rain or fishing off shore. It's a wind blocker for sure.

Love this jacket and exceeded my expectations. Living in Alaska I am constantly hiking and camping and on the boat in the rain and I have never experienced being wet with this jacket. Also doubles as my ski jacket and does a great job blocking any thing that comes its way.

Just amazing! Cause everytime i wear this on a rainy day, the rain stops and I end up dry and comfy. Thats how great it is.
Kidding aside, this is very much worth the money.

This is my fourth purchase of the Beta AR jacket. I've worn them for well over two decades because they are simply so versatile. The jacket is great gear for wet, snowy or stormy weather, bush-tough, and with an solid guarantee. Excellent value for the money.

I've had the same Beta shell for 10+ years, it was time for an update. The new AR looks and fits great, excited for the new stand-up collar & drop hood, and another decade of protection from the elements.

This jacket is amazing! I knew it would be but aside from the quality and durability I am very grateful for their customer support. My jacket was stolen off my porch before I even got home but they hooked me up with another one and for that Ill be a return customer. 510 190 pounds and got an XL for a good all mountain look and to accommodate for mid layers.

I have owned this jacket for a few months and am already regretting my purchase.
A few days after getting the jacket, my partner noticed a weird stain around the collar. This stain does not go away, you can wash it was some detergent (have to be careful with the Gore-Tex) but it remains. I have to follow review guidelines so I can't speak more about this.
Other than my particular issue, which to be fair, could likely be avoided by picking a darker color, there are some other issues. Like one reviewer mentioned, the sleeves are really long and the overall fit is weird. It's tight in the shoulders and chest but loose everywhere else. But, if you are a lanky skinny fat guy then this jacket might be the perfect fit for you.
The DWR is the worst I have ever experienced. After a day or two of moderate (not heavy) rain, it already wore off. I was unable to refresh it in the washer/dryer so I had to apply a new DWR coating but that didn't work very long either.
Because of the way the jacket fits, the "storm hood" isn't really that functional. If you are wearing anything on top of your head, or have long hair, you will still have to unzip your jacket in order to put the hood up, which kind of defeats the purpose. Then, because of the way the hood is shaped, it is impossible to get it tightened correctly so it doesn't keep flying down when you're in...a storm (or even moderately windy weather). Having a more traditional integrated hood would be lighter and better.
I have also noticed patchy areas on my arms and chest where even though it is a 3 layer shell, the water can come through at parts where there are seams. I have not had this issue with other shells, except when the membrane started failing, not in a new jacket. The overall construction appears much lower quality than other shells I have had from Arcteryx or any other brand.
There are other things I think you should know but I have to follow review guidelines so I won't. This jacket should be and easily could be much better for how much it costs.

I bought this a month ago and I am a big fan of the drop hood design. The fit around the chest and shoulders is a little tight but not uncomfortable. Overall a great product.
I have a zeta AR model and I noticed one thing missing was the waist tightening straps. I have a wider chest but narrower waist (athletic type would be best descrition) and wish the Beta Ar had the waist tightening system to better fit the midsection of the shell to my body. It's not a big concern but I worry that the sides catch on something since it is wider than my waist.

I was numb to receive my jacket, replacing my last Arcteryx BETA AR. It was not the same quality material as the last jackets that had been replaced over the years. If possible, I would like someone to get back to me to sort this out. I really love the material the other ones were made from. This one feels cheap. Thank you for taking the time and taking care of a loyal customer.
Cheers

The shell sound like a plastic bag very loud.
Shoulder very tight but sleeve to long...
Nothing like my 2013 alpha sv... that delaminate for no reason... and that was not replaced as it was logically supposed... not impressed with the quality for the price.
