I have few Arc'teryx jackets in my closet but the beta AR is the hardshell you must have.

I just renewed my Arc'teryx Beta AR after having one for the last 10 years. This is my go to shell jacket for winter skiing, hiking and also motorcycling. This reliable, resistant, waterproof and windproof jacket is the best on the market.

I mainly use this for getting around the city on foot and on bike. Pairs really well with a light down layer for temperatures from 0C to 10C. I used this as my shell when climbing Mount Fuji in the offseason/winter and it held up perfectly.

I have bought the Beta AR a couple years ago and the quality of the jacket has never failed me. The weather protection it provides and the fitting has been amazing and I would purchase another one in the future.

The one and only jacket I can trust to do the job every single time. A timeless piece that is versatile but light. A must have for my adventures.

I bought this jacket two weeks ago and the fit was phenomenal! I have a lean fit and this jacket was excellently articulated to my body type! Best jacket for all-round adventures!

I've been nothing but impressed with this shells performance. The perfect mid range shell that performs in the back country but also just on the day to day stuff. Pairing this with an atom is the best combo for staying warm and dry and still feeling like you're wearing a light jacket.

Purchased in store after trying various models. I personally really like the collar in comparison to the storm hood. Will be a standard item in my winter wardrobe for years to come.

I bought a beta ar jacket about 2 months ago and I love it! It's perfect for anything from walking around town or backpacking with friends. Also it works very well with the Atom Lt jacket for layering. The jacket is very light but durable. Would 100% recommend this product to anyone!

Got this jacket a few months ago and I can say this jacket is a beast of a jacket. I own a lot of jackets, from marmot, or, Patagonia, and Arcteryx. I keep finding myself go for this jacket every time. It's durable, sleek, and of course water resistant. You probably will not ever have to buy another jacket. I know they can be pricey but they hold their value and will last a long time. They are also backed by and Incredible warranty.

Love the revised fit, extra room allows for more effective layering which really extends the seasonal use I can get out of it and general versatility. With a good insulating layer, this jacket can take you pretty far into a Canadian winter.

Bought this 4 years ago after a few years of thinking and using different jacket for all season. Been wearing this exclusively, 365 days a years since I bought it. Clean enough for the city and perfect for the mountain or pouring rain. -30 c still perfect with appropriate layers.

I like almost everything about the design - the collar, the fit, the weight. I liked it so much I bought two. Compared to the Rush, which I wear for skiing, this is a much better fit even for layering in winter

The Beta AR Jacket is a great waterproof and windproof option for mild temperatures. I am 6'0" and 145 pounds and really like the fit of a medium. The Black Sapphire is a fantastic color. I hope Arct'teryx continues it as a basic color. For me, this jacket does not provide much warmth. On a cloudy, windy, 50 day the Beta AR stopped the wind, but I still felt cold with just a long-sleeve shirt underneath. Going forward, I see my Beta AR as a waterproof jacket on mild to warm days. or as a waterproof shell with an Atom or other mid layer. As far as design, the velcro closures at the wrist are fine, but there may be a better option like what is found in the Atom jacket.

Light weight, good at breaking the wind and in light to moderate rain. I like the colour but it stained immediately. I wore it coiling a dirty rope so that's my bad, whoops. Went out in moderate rain having the jacket for a week. The hood and shoulders were beading water nicely, although the first layer of material around my climbing harness was soaking through a bit. Still kept me dry but if the rain was any heavier I'm not confident it would have.

Jacket is cut well and fits without extra material. The feel is a little stiff but I assume that's due to the the waterproof membrane. It is not as thick as the Sidewinder it replaces and I hope the bonded areas will last longer, as that is what failed on the previous 2 Arc'teryx jackets. It is a simple jacket without lots of extra pockets and that seems to keep the weight down and make it easier to pack. I was undecided about which version to get - the stormhood one or this one and went with the separate collar version. I've yet to really use the hood in a downpour so I can't say if I made the right choice. I do like the collar on this one and that the hood lays flatter when not raised. Color choices were meh, so I went with the basic black sapphire. It's nice and understated but I've found recent Arc'teryx colors to be less interesting than when I first was attracted to the brand. All told, this seems to be a good functional and flexible waterproof shell with good tailoring. I hope it grows on me as I use it more, but I'm a little underwhelmed to start.

After 20 years spent with my old Beta AR 2005 which I loved, I only just upgraded to the 2025 Beta AR. I can't really give an honest review as I only have it for two weeks, but compared to my old jacket (made in Canada) the new one feels much lighter and I hope it will be as durable (time will tell but I really doubt). The design is also very different: compared to my old one, the 2025 version feels very baggy (which will be more convenient for layering), with longer arms as well. It also sits much longer on the back, I have to pull it up a bit when suiting for example.

This is one of the first Arc pieces I got. The quality of the shell is unmatched. Wind proof, water proof, taped seams, perfect pocket placement, and I like the collar.

I just got this Jacket to replace a torn Patagonia Jacket. Technically speaking this is the Cat's Meow. I ONLY use this to Ski in. But.... This Jacket is way too short. Needs to be longer..

I've been a loyal fan of Beta AR jackets, valuing their top-notch durability, functionality, and design. Over the years, I've updated mine regularly, but the recent trend of dual-tone designs and overly muted, dull colors has left me disappointed. The lack of vibrancy is holding me back from purchasing newer models.

The jacket is very comfortable, quiet and very light. No matter how heavy the rain or snow is, it keeps you completely dry. It is also completely windproof. The collar provides additional protection when you don't need the hood.
