I am fairly new to off road trail running and after numerous shoes, founds the Brooks Cascadia 16s. I loved them and own 4 pair. I was excited about the 17s but they are much narrower and I just could not get them to fit right on me. They were too tight mid foot and lacing them up almost hurt. I couldnt imagine doing a 5K in them let along a 25K.

I have a lot of trouble finding shoes that fit well and it's been so nice that I can rely on the Adrenaline narrow sizes. I would love to be able to get a trail runner in a narrow size as well!

Oh man, I really wanted to love these. Ive been wearing Cascadias for years and have had a love/hate relationship with the different versions. I was really hoping the 17s would feel more like the older Cascadias (the 16s were way too blocky and clunky for me), but Im really disappointed in these. I pulled them out of the box and immediately thought they looked like Hokas. The bottoms are super wide and yet they somehow fit oddly narrow in the upper. I have a narrow foot and ankle and the heel pads hit me in a very strange spot. I wear the Cascadias for my burlier trail runs and backpacking and I could barely wear these around the house before I got a hot spot on my heels. I tried two sizes and they both had the same issue. Such a disappointment! Please go back to making a solid all around trail shoe and stick with the designs that have been popular and worked in the past rather than chasing the next fad.

Unfortunately, these shoes were extremely narrow and uncomfortable. I got my normal size and WIDE and I still couldnt wear these for longer than a couple miles. The 16s are a much better design.

Sadly, the toe box was too narrow for my feet. Loved the cushion, but had to return them.

Ive had multiple pairs of Cascadias over the years. Some fit perfectly and were comfortable right away and a couple broke in nicely after just a couple or wearings. The 17s pinch a bit in the toes it seems. Dont pay much attention to me though, Im 75 and only use them for walks of a few miles and general daily use. Theyre fine. Maybe next years model will fit me better.

Used the shoes to backpack part of the appalachian trail. No foot or knee pain with the shoes despite carrying an additional 30 lbs. Traction was good on the terain and no water seeped in when crossing up to 1 inch deep creeks.

After about 60 miles, the back of the heal spilt. The shoe is great beside the heal.

Want to love them but I've already got a hole in the heel after less than 50 miles running.

Toe box was round and not shaped like previous ones, so it rubbed on great and pinky toes. Also, there was not the same heel drop as previous models. Felt like it was shifting my hips which created a strain on my spine. Had to return them

The fit was fine, but the shoe is so hard and stiff, it's a little like walking on two planks. I walked around the house in them and could not get them to feel comfortable even though the fit felt right. The tongue of the shoe seems awfully short as well. I'm so sorry to that I feel the need to return these as I am getting quite desperate for a new pair of tennis shoes.

These fit narrower than the Cascadia 16s. Also the colors were much brighter -- not autumnal orange, traffic cone orange.

So disappointed. I'm a 40's woman, 130 lbs. size 7.0, neutral, 50+ miles per week off road but not rugged trails, some pavement. These shoes were so hard to get used to and the soles feel hard and rigged. I was hoping for a cushioned runthat is not these shoes. In defense, I've never found a trail shoe that I've liked. I had to put different insoles in just to wear them to work. I wear ghosts 14 & 15, which I love but wanted a more cushioned sole. The support is ok, traction is excellent, construction will hold up well.

The 16s fit perfectly; the 17s don't. Why take a successful shoe that women everywhere love and change it. Look at these reviews! "I have worn the Cascadia or x model years and now the 17s don't fit." C'mon, Brooks.

The Cascadia 16 fit perfectly. The 17 has a different last and different toebox, the B width is wider giving a sloppy fit, and they messed up the nice high-traction sole. Why?

These shoes were very stiff. They are very uncomfortable. They felt true to size and width but not easy to walk in.

I have loved 4 pairs of Cascadia 16s to death on mountain trails just tried a 17 and it stayed in the store. What was a phenomenal grip surface is diminished, footbed is changed in some weird way that is just plain uncomfortable, and toe box was binding on the top of my one problem big toe - seemed like it's modified into something a bit like a European toe and I have a square American foot. I wouldn't have even thought the 17 was still a Cascadia. Such a disservice to repeat customers to change so much, and none of it for the better. Very sad. :(

Most uncomfortable shoes I've tried, base is so narrow for a size 11 shoes. I think 1D is not a good width. The side is obviously better or even N, but the 1D can cause you blisters. There's no room to adjust, lace too short. Overall not satisfied, first time in Brooks shoes or other shoes. If this was my first Brooks, I will never buy any other Brooks products.
