I tried adjusting laces and tried different socks, but these shoes just hurt my feet. I gave them away. They look good. I got compliments.

Too long but too tight. Material and sole stiff. Size 8 is my normal Brooks shoe size 1/2 up from my measured 7 1/2.

Purchased these because I needed a waterproof shoe for my hiking and nature walks. Incredibly comfortable once I got used to them. I walked 4.5 miles in them with no foot or ankle pain.

Brooks are so supportive, that with my experiences with wearing the shoes I have purchased , I could honestly make a commercial for brooks! Prior to buying these o bought Hokas and Brooks out weigh Hokas on any given day! The tread , the podiatrist support that the shoes sends off and extremely supportive to my feet up to my ankles , further up to my calfs and up to my knees! These are the best darn shoes I have ever purchased by far. Thank you the creature of Brooks! Im beyond satisfied

The cascadia 17 are a little heavier then I'm used to. I wear them only for trails and off-roading. They are very supportive and do well in keeping my foot placement neutral.

Look great. Overall feel supportive, love the traction. My heels hurt after awhile. This is disappointing. Did not feel this with ghost. Will have to wear now everyday due to cost.

Returned. The new Cascadia 17 runs a little longer than the previous Cascadia 16. Would be nice if it came in a 5.5 wide, waterproof edition with better color selections. Hard to find shoes to fit a wide small foot!

I liked the feel on the trail, smoother transition compared to the 16s. However the heel seems wider and my rear foot was not well secured. After 2 runs I had to give up. The pain in my right foot shut me down for a week.

I love my Cascadia's! Been my go to trail shoe for years. Amazing traction and good cushion that can handle all levels of terrain. The 17's have a larger heel cup than the 16's. I've had to use a lace lock, which is tough as the laces aren't quite long enough to accommodate. It's been hard to find the right tie with such short laces and after my 20 miler today, my right foot is pretty sore. All in all, they're a great shoe, just working out the kinks with the new version.

So I bought these as my second pair of shoes for a three day trail race I had on very rocky terrain ( rocks, mud, snow) . I finished using these shoes for the whole weekend. They are very comfortable, stable and help when running on rocks. Love them and I am so happy with my choice of purchasing them.

The design of the shoe has changed from the Cascadia 16. The shoe was definitely more narrow, and the tongue of the shoe is shorter. It does not come up very high on top of the foot, so it is uncomfortable. Also, the shoelaces are a couple of inches shorter as well! It is very clear that they cut corners with the design and quality of the shoe, which impedes its overall performance and comfort.

I really wanted to love this shoe. It is basically the only wide width option of the trail shoes. The width feels great. There is enough space in the toe box to feel comfortable and it is wider than most of my Merrell wide hiking shoes. I had two problems with the shoe, which is ultimately why I returned them. First, there is not enough cushion. Even with an orthopedic insole, the shoe did not feel cushioned to me. The second issue was with the material around the ankle on the back of the shoe. It felt like it was pinching my ankle. It was not terribly noticeable, but I have tried to deal with that issue on other shoes and I never end up wearing them. From the description of some of the other trail shoes, it sounds like Brooks offers a couple other options with more cushion. Unfortunately, they are not in the wide width. I initially purchased the Cascadia 17 GTX because I really wanted the GTX version. That was not wide enough. It did feel a little more cushioned than the Cascadia 17. Though, that may have only been my foot feeling too squeezed. Brooks - please make wide GTX options. Not just a single pair of wide for each category, but actual choices within each category. Ladies with wide feet (or pregnant feet) also want to have wide choices in trail, GTX, colorful, and neutral looking shoes.
