I like the boat neck and color in the multi blue striped shirt. Good weight for cooler days or air-conditioned spaces. This is a Relaxed Fit so I ordered down a size to compensate, but it was still sort of boxy looking. I decided to return. Will try to remember not to order the Relaxed Fit anymore, just stick with Slightly Fitted styles.

I purchased my usual size, medium, but this medium was larger, especially in the neckline, than other mediums I have ordered from LL Bean. Otherwise it's fine. Material is heavier. Cut is boxier.

Very well made but the design feels very wide in the shoulders. Also shorter in the body than i prefer.

I love, love, love this fabric! It's softer than cashmere. I have two of these tops in med-pet. The neck opening goes almost shoulder to shoulder so unless you push your bra straps all the way to your shoulders, where they are not going to stay, they will be showing.

Cozy, but runs big. Super soft material and it washes well.

I have a few of the original LLB Mariner shirts. The fabric was thick/substantial and the shirts were well-constructed. This new version does not deserve the name "Heritage," as the fabric is very different. Thinner, more like a t-shirt, and baggier. It's not a bad shirt, but I was expecting something more like the original version, which has lasted for over a decade.

It is huge. My size has not changed since my first shirt, a medium. Now after sending back a medium and receiving a small, that is huge also but I am afraid an extra small might be too short, and lost the bag with the return label so will keep it. But seriously, I have sent all kinds of things back for being way too big in the last couple of years.

Great shirt but too big, mainly in the top third. Maybe order down a size? I ordered my usual size, but it was too big.

There is something about the bottom of the sleeves that is wonky. Not noticeable until you put it on......sort of like the opening is too large. I will probably do some ruching across the top which I hope will take care of it. Nice quality, and I like the top so didn't want to return it.

Like the look of this shirt, but the neck is binding, and the material is a little heavy.

Boatneck is pretty wide. But I like the rest of it and it's a good fit for my petite frame.

Love the bright color, the heavier weight & the fit (thanks to the reviews, I ordered a medium, usually wear large). The boat neck is a bit wide, don't like bra straps showing. A bit pricey. But as usual, I love the quality of LL Bean shirts!

I have had and loved previous versions of the shirt. Disappointed in the dolman sleeves on this version. I must have misread the description. Sadly this will go back.

I am 5'0", 110 lbs. I love the bright stripes, dropped sleeves and soft material. Bought size small and it is quite large. Disappointing.

Beautiful material but is cut quite wide and somewhat short. I am normally a ladies large in a top, but in this case I got a medium, and it still feels a little large.

It's cut wide, as a sailor's shirt would be, and it's a heavier material. Love the dark blue and cream. I am slender 5' 7" and ended up with a small vs my usual medium (had to return the medium), and it's PLENTY wide. I've gotten compliments. Nice look with white or blue pants.

I've owned many forerunners of this shirt. But this redesign runs large, I'm keeping it hoping it will shrink some. The quality is very nice but buy a size smaller.

I always wear a regular large but I swam in this. Exchanging it for a medium.

I'm still waiting for the original French Sailor's Shirt to come back! Why can't LL Bean make this happen? It was the perfect top for three seasons of the year. It was also very versatile. The Heritage Mariner top is the closest I've found so far; but It's very big and boxy, and the neck is too large. I had to return them twice for smaller sizes. I'm keeping the last ones. I'm still going to plead for LL Bean to bring back the original French Sailor's Shirt.

The material is not as substantial as the old version, but it is great to see this option back on the menu.

I was disappointed in this top. The fabric was very nice, the color was what I wanted. The fit was the problem. I ordered this in a small and it was very large, wide and boxy but short on me. I wish this top was just a bit longer and not as wide. I returned it.

Runs large. Should have deeper hem at the bottom, turns up. Soft cotton. Washes well. Color fast so far.

Just bought this top at my local store but have not washed and worn it yet. It runs large; I usually wear a large, but the medium is the same size as my large in the jewel-neck tee. My only complaint is that, like the Saturday tees that I can't wear, this shirt is on the short side. I have a long torso, and there's no way it would cover my rear like the photos show. It comes to a good length now, so I'll probably never put it in the dryer. But I do like how the thin navy stripes remind me of the French sailor shirt I had eons ago from Bean's.
