I have been buying Merrell shoes for many years. I like the clogs and slip on shoes. I purchased the newest version of Encore Ice and I can tell right away that the manufacturing is different. Not in a good way. The sole feels very floppy like wearing rubber boots. It used to feel firm and stable under foot and fit like a glove. Now they are sort of bendy and flex and sort of flop around when walking. Not nearly the fit or support of the older models. I purchased another style and sadly its the same problem. So disappointed as Merrell was always my go to shoe!

I have owned many pair of the Encore Ice. Every time the name changes to Encore Ice 4 or Encore Ice 5 the quality, fit, fur and sizing change. Who knows what I loved at this point? Plan old Encore Ice?? Wish I could purchase the "original", superior in all ways. Kept trying the new versions in the hope Merrell went back to the original quality, I now know it is a lost cause.

Not the same shoe that I thought Iwas ordering. I had a pair for last 3 years, and these were not the same quality

A full size too large, no real support. Purchased to replace 5 y.o.pair. Will wear as house slippers, not outdoors, too floppy. Must have switched factory to save money. No quality control. Order full size down.

I had the 2's but the tread finally wore out and this is the replacement. I still have my older ones so I'm able to do a side by side comparison. - They have definitely gotten narrower. In the picture you can see a significant difference in width. I am hoping these will stretch laterally as Merrell says. I am disappointed because I feel like this has happened with nearly every shoe I've tried to replace. - There I definitely more arch support in the older one. In fact, this was a shoe that I bought to help me through plantar fasciitis. That arch support is completely gone so I'm glad the plantar fasciitis has resolved. - The sole otherwise feels the same. - The treads have changed as you can see f on the pictures. - The style looks like it is trying to imitate another brand of clog rather than stick with a more unique look. In summary I would have rather had a new pair of the 2's, but we will see how it goes.

Ordered a black pair same size as my 4 other pairs over the years. Huge! Label says "42" as others but made larger, slide off my feet. Took picture. Not thrill. Manufacturer change?

Ugh!!! I have been wearing the Merrell Encore (breeze and ice) for YEARS. I have always found them to be supportive, cushy, and perfect for my daily long walks with my dog. I just got the encore ice 5 and they are awful!! They actually hurt to wear, as there is almost no cushy goodness in the heel. I actually had to take them off after walking 3 miles, and put on my old worn out Ice 4s, which still have more cushion and support than these brand new shoes. I can only surmise that Merrell is making these on the cheap and not using the same quality/quantity of materials. They look the same from the outside although the heel on the 5 is noticeably thinner than the 4, even with my 4s having a couple hundred miles on them Looks like I need to go find another go-to walking shoe.

This is probably the 7th pair of this shoe that i have purchased. I have recommended this shoe to family and friends. I have always found it to be the most comfortable shoe and a shoe i could wear all day long with no pain. Which is why i am surprised and frustrated that the insole is no longer removable and i cannot put my orthotic insole in. I have tried to remove it to the point that i think i will damage the shoe itself. So now i am stuck with my final pair of what used to be my favorite shoe. It is not as comfortable to wear all day and no longer a shoe i would recommend.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I've worn the Encore Ice for decades because I loved the thick lamb fur lining that keeps my feet warm .Unfortunately that shoe seems to be gone. The fur lining is skimpy and almost missing around the top.

These are extremely comfortable and fit true to size. They are also very warm. This is the 5th pair I've purchased over about 10 years.

I have owned several pairs of these clogs for many years. For some reason this year they hurt my feet. I don’t know why but they were crippling. Not sure if it’s my age the shoes, but I could not wear them.

Eight years ago I purchased a pair to wear as indoor house shoes--my podiatrist said 'Get something with good arch support/nothing flat.' These were great; feet never hurt. This new model looks nice, but the inside is so hard and flat that eventually (after a month, to give it a chance) I had to insert arch supports. Since I've been wearing them every day I will keep them, though these are the last.

I had bought a previous pair which had a thicker lining. And I just felt they were better made.

The quality of the lining has gone down and the round M stamp is gone. The soles no longe last forever....and the sizing is slightly irregular in some of them. I am only referring to encore ice my favorite.

I've worn these shoes for years and years. They are my go to winter shoe. I have them in many colors. However through the years the quality has declined greatly. They are not nearly as sturdy as they were. Also the sizing is off many times. Disappointing

The shoe is cute. The fit is great. BUT, they don't have any support at all. After what I spent on the shoes, I'm not happy that I now have to order supportive insoles so I can actually wear them.

Did not get the product I thought I was getting. The shoes I received are very white. Not quite the quality of other shoes I am trying to replace.

I really like the shoe, however these are not the same as older ones. The new do not have the same support as older versions.

I am trying to replace an old pair of Merrel Ice winter clogs which I LOVE. The Ice 5 looks like a good winter clog, but I can't get the right fit. I first ordered the same size as my old pair, except I don't think they came in different widths. I have returned 2 pairs now, both Wide. Maybe that is my problem. But otherwise, the winter clog looks great: substantial, warm, of course easy on/off, etc. Wish I could get the right fit.

The shoe fit well. Not as comfortable as I remember these being. Materials seem cheaper.
