Since I've had both my knees replaced, I basically use my shoes for mostly for walking and in the gym. Sometimes I walk 3-5 miles daily and pride myself in having my shoes to compliment my outfit. I have been a long time fan of Hokas and have introduced them to many of my friends. I have purchased well over 15 different pairs for myself, both women and men versions. I started out with the Bondi and then I later discovered the Arahi, the Clifton's and really fell in love with Gaviotas because they seem to work best for me with both of my total knee replacements and flat feet. During my visit to Hawaii, my Hopara quickly became my preferred shoe of choice for all the hikes and extensive walking. They were fantastic especially during my water aerobics, our hikes and my everyday walking during our trip to Hawaii. However, after being disappointed after my last Bondi purchase, I just purchased the Gaviota 5 which I will have to return also because the new makeovers does not feel the same either. The toe box is much too wide and the arch area is cut weird and it hurts. The new style not only is big in the toe box but it makes your foot look so much bigger than they really are. I am so disappointed and I have to return this one too as I did with that new Bondi. Please bring the old style back. I feel they were so much better and more comfortable. I'm a bit afraid to order another pair for fear it will not fit and I will have too return it too.

Standard choices did not apply on fit. I suppose they fit fine if you want to walk on the side rails of the sole digging into the arch of your feet on both sides. Very painful. Had to return. Second time I’ve tried this brand in the past several years. Same issue then.

The Goviota 4 are so much better than the 5's. The 5's are so soft and mushy, also the 5's look like clown shoes. Very, very wide looking. Not sleek at all.

Not very comfortable. Caused a flare up of my plantar fasciitis. Definitely will stick with the Bondi from now on.

I can see how they could be the greatest shoes, but not for me. Good quality, but fit for my feet not good at all, made them hurt more, unfortunately. Will try on at a store instead of buying on-line

The back of the shoe on both is coming off. It is not built of anything strong and so going down the stairs. It's taking off the back of the shoe, the rubber is not rubber. I have loved Hoka and I'm very disappointed. My last pair did the exact same thing. I am looking for a Hoku that has reinforced backing.

I returned the shoes because I have 3 pr of Gaviota that I love. When i rec'd this pair they were not like the prior 3. The front half of the shoes was wider & the sole was even wider, giving them a funny look.

I can't say the sneaker are not good, they're not good for me. I have a previous leg injury which has led to problems with my foot and ankle . My foot Dr recommend these Hoka sneakers for me. Since I'm wearing them my body aches very badly, is it because the sneaker are trying to correct my walking? I honestly don't know , but I didn't have these pain before wearing the sneakers.Dr wants me to wear them as many hours a day as possible, I've been wearing them about 9-10 hours a day but honestly my boy can't handle it. I saw the Dr he says pain is not from sneakers, when Ive rested over night and get up in the morning the only pain I still have before putting the sneakers on is I feel like I have shin splints. I don't know what to do about the sneakers I hoped they would be soft and cushy inside, but they're not. I really had high hopes for the sneakers.

Had to return because the toe was so wide. I comp it to my 4 and it's about 3/4" wider at the toe. They were perfect the way they were I don't know why they would do this.

I've been wearing Hokas for quite a few years (since the Gaviota 2) and am a fan. Unfotunately the Gaviota 5 (and Clifton) no longer fit my foot. Hopefully the changes work for other wearers.

My daughter normally fits a 9.5 perfectly, I received an email due to a large volume the order for the shoe took longer with expedited shipping. When she finally received the shoes they were a wide fit which I didn't select, and she needed it for her shin splints. So, I didn't send it back because of fear it would take even longer. She has to wear extra pair of socks just so they can fit.

Nice color, well cushioned, it fits but it looks big on me because it's too wide, I wanted to return but I don't have time, so I just use it and I get comments like, too big on you

The color of the shoes was beautiful. The support and cushion could have been very comfortable. I would have loved wearing them. However, they were gigantic! Literally looked like clown shoes on my feet. Why is the sizing so off? With the added width of the sole all around, it was like walking with swim flippers on my feet. Sadly, they had to go back. I do not understand Hoka sizing and proportion at all.

I wore these for two days at work where I stand around a lot. And it actually hurt my feet. I work in an airport and see these on sooooo many people, I knew I had to give them a try. But it had a reverse effect on me sadly. My arches had no support. The top of my feet would get sore for whatever reason. The soul was comfortable but with everything else factoring in, it just really hurt. If you are interested in buying these, I highly suggest going into a store to try some on first before making the big purchase. Cute styles though. I got the black and white ones.

I have a pair of Gaviota 4 which are among my favorite HOKA styles. I was disappointed when I ordered a pair of Gaviota 5 shoes, as the toebox is now wider and the shoes feel less supportive around the arch. Unfortunately I had to return them.

I had heard great things about Hoka and wanted to try something new for my long day on my feet working in an ER. I spent a really long time at a specialty shoe store having my gait evaluated and trying on different shoes and paid a pretty penny for these. Unfortunately I find myself grimacing in pain before my shift is even over. They felt great in the store- plenty of room and good arch support, but I had to go back to my previous brand. I'll try these for running but for my personal feet they are agony midway into my 12.5 hr shifts.

The Gaviota 3 was a godsend to me. Having heels spurs and years of feet issues I finally found the perfect shoes. I went through several pairs and bought more when some colors went on sale. I wish I had stocked up on a ton of them. I have tried the Gaviota 4 and now the 5. Both do not work for my feet any more. The new one feel too narrow in some place and too wide in others and tries to curve my feet an odd way. So sad they changed it so much. Thankfully. I still have a few pair left of the Gaviota 3 I'm trying to make last. Please go back to the way Gaviota 3 were. I will purchase many pairs.

Gaviota has always been my go to stability running shoes, however, the 5s fit weird. The left shoe the arch insole is higher than the right shoe insole causing an imbalance. I'm really not happy with the quality this year. Maybe the 6s will be better.. sending my 5s back.

I love my Gaviota 4s, so I ordered another pair of 8.5b. I just received them today and they're HUGE. They're super wide, especially the toe box, like a mens shoe. Hokas are great for my feet, but you have issues with your sizing.

The Gaviota 5 is very wide - although it fits, the base of the shoe has a larger area. Did not like them.

I have very wide feet and normally wear a WW. I ordered a half size down after reading reviews, in a wide. I walk a lot and don’t mind having a wide shoe. I have never seen shoes so wide in my life. I did not think I could ever say that a shoe was too wide for my flat wide feet. Alarmingly these shoes appear not to have any rise in the ankle area at all. In fact they slip off the ankles because there is no ankle support and the shoe angles down in the back like a slider. I don’t know what happened to Hoka and I would like to return these, if I can, I’ve only worn them once. $175 down the drain!

I've been wearing Gaviota for years and this 5 runs really big! Don't get me wrong i love the toebox area since inhave a wide feet. But i have to size down 1 full size! And still feel too big I got it on size 8.5 which was my normal size, had to returned it to size 8 and still too bigreturned and got the 7.5 and still big! I will try this for another week and see how i feel. Comfort wise is very comfy, love the foot bed but the design is different with my old gaviotas.
