This is a shoe recommended by my foot MD who herself wears Hoka. It is very cushiony, but it's hot if wearing for an extended time. Also the top/tongue sits too high up on the top of my foot. I can "correct" that by pulling the laces out of the top 1 or 2 holes, but then it's a $175+ shoe. My first Hoka shoe.

Love the color. Love how lite they are. Lover the cushiness of the sole. My only problem is that I have a pretty high arch and these don't support my arch like I need them to. I will be trying a different style.

Use shoes to power walk. They provide great stability yet light weight. Love yellow color. Toe area has little too much material.

I felt the GAVIOTA 5 was not a good fit for me. Didn't seem to have the cushioning I was hoping for. Not to say this wouldn't work for someone else, just not for me.

I ordered a size 12 because the 11's were just a bit snug in the toes. I have two corns that I am trying to get rid ofone on each foot.

I definitely like the 4's better then the 5's. The arch is uncomfortable in these ones. I also ordered a half size bigger because the 4's were a little short.

loved the previous model of gaviota and love the stability of the arahi but these guys are just way too wide. even thought i had accidentally ordered wide ones because there was sooo much space in them. but was so excited for a stability shoe to have actually cute colors for once! returning unfortunately :(

The problem is when I wore them, my knee started to hurt and my leg. I had to return them. I feel they were too much for me, I had to return them.

I returned this pair and exchanged for a different style. The Gaviota was very wide in the toe area. It was much bigger than I need. For those who like wide shoes, this would be great.

I only gave these 3 stars because this style did not work for me. That being said they were very well made and light weight. Their return policy is assume that is why I felt very comfortable in trying them. I will buy another pair from Hoka because they are a great shoe otherwise. And you are allowed to wear them to make a decision on whether they are the right shoe for you without any consequence in returning them

Fabulous shoes but budget for a new pair every couple/few months if u can afford it. No other walking, running, hiking show is this comfortable but again, they don't last.

I loved my Gaviota 4 and these sounded great with even more cushion. The cushion is nice but the toe box is way too wide and I like a roomy toe box. I almost needed to go down to a 6 vs my typical Hoka 6.5 (I wear a 7 in Brooks for comparison). In addition to just feeling too wide, they looked a little odd with such a wide front vs the rest of the shoe. I wish they had made it a small bit roomier without swinging too far the other way.

They are very uncomfortable shoe ever purchased. Have a pair of Bondi 8 and they are very comfortable. Would have purchase another pair of Bondi 8, but can't find another pair in my width 2E.

The shoe runs super big and I even noticed that the EU size did not correspond to the US size. I ordered a US 10.5 and the EU equivalent noted 43.5 which is typically a US 11.5. This made the shoe unwearable and comically large. I returned and ordered Arahi's instead and feel much better with those.

I bought this to help with my plantar fasciitis. I do not find this helpful for my condition. My Skechers pickleball shoes have better support for my feet and at half the price I should have brought a second pair of those. Next time I might try the ON or brooks shoes.

1. Usually wear Bondis -toe box on these is really loose - had to check to make sure I didn't order these in a wide- can't tighten with laces enough to hold upper foot in place
2. Heel is just a tiny bit too big to fit in rowing machine at OrangeTheory-

They're just too narrow. I have no problem with most wide width shoes but these get very uncomfortable after a couple of hours of wear. I'm wearing them every now and then to see if they stretch out a little more but so far they're just not comfortable for all-day wear.
