I have a very wide foot, and hoped these in the regular width would help. Despite my wide foot, these shoes were too wide. I feel that if I ever needed a roommate, they could live in the front of these shoes. I'm sorry they didn't work for me.

I have the Gaviota 4 and they are not as wide as the 5. I have a regular but still wider than the last model so my foot moves around. Bit too much.

We've read and heard about this shoe being the best for feet pain. I got mine and within 4 hrs I had to take them off, I couldn't cause I was at work. Only worn them for 8 hrs and they've been sitting by the corner of my room. Now I have to go repurchase the sketchers I should of bought in the first place. This shoe has no arch support. The shoe looks like I should be walking on clouds since is sooo freking huge, but the inside is what counts. I can wiggle my toes but my toes aren't the ones shooting pain to my back. It made my heels hurt. I thought my old shoes were hurting but my feet welcomed my oldies instead of Hoka. I'm wondering if I can return them.

I was much happier with the Gaviator 4. The toes area and sole are too wide. I feel like my feet are swimming in the shoe.

I bought this shoe for the large platform. I have a ruptured Achilles tendon and am wearing an orthotic brace. Bought this pair in a half size larger size and wide width to accommodate the brace.
Feels fine but I could not sneak up on Helen Keller with this loudly squeaking shoe/brace combo. Brace is quiet with any other shoe. Wasted almost two hundred dollars. Mistake on my part, expensive mistake.

I ordered the same size that I've worn in the past but these were way too long and wide. After I went down a size, they fit and feel great. Return was quick and easy.

I’ve worn a 7.5 wide in the Gaviota 3 and 4. I tried the Gaviota 5 in the same size but they were huge! Tried size 7 wide but the toe box still made me look like i was wearing clown shoes. They dwarfed my 7.5 wide in the Gaviota 4. Never thought I’d say a shoe was too wide! I have bunions so finding a comfortable shoe is a challenge. I go for function over looks but I just couldn’t do the clown shoe. I tried the 7 regular. No longer looked huge but a little snug in the toe box. Guess I’ll wait for the Gaviota 6. I will say the 5 has nice cushion in the heel.

I have worn various Hola models over the years and have been a solid size 8.5 regular Homa shoe wearer. I bought the Gaviotta 5 in size 8.5, but they were soo large. Too wide and too long, so probably a half size too big all the way around. Tightening the laces and using a heel lock didnt help. I also feel like the shoe didnt have as much cushioning as Im used to with Homas, because my feet and my knees hurt more running in these shoes. They are going back, sadly.

I bought these shoes (along with 3 other shoes) in a size 9. The arch of the shoe was oddly placed and dug into my foot in a very painful way. I typically wear an 8.5 regular. The 9.5 was definitely a better fit, and much more comfortable. it gave my toes the wiggle room they needed The stability is great I felt that my foot was supported and had great grip on the floor, However, the frame of the shoe was digging into the arch of my foot. I decided to find a store that sold Hoka brand and try them in-store to see if the other sizes or regular/wide would be better. I tried 9 pairs of shoes from this brand and they all did the same thing. I started to think I was going crazy and maybe my feet were just weird. I had my mother and friend try the shoes as well and they had the same complaint that it dug into their arch. I recommend if you want to buy this brand that you find a store and try it on and save yourself the hassle of paying hundreds+ of dollars and having to return it. Like I did and play a game of ordering more and returning them. I would not recommend this shoe if you have not tried it before. After trying to see if this was just a few people's issues I have found multiple complaints and Readit threads about this issue.

I've owned the Hoka Gabiota 4. Bought the Gabiota 5 and you've changed the toe box and most importantly the shoe drop. Can't wear the new design.

This shoe has a SUPER wide toe box. It was too wide for me so I had to return them. Cute sneaker, reminded me of the Bondi. Very sturdy if you need a wide toe box this shoe is for you.

Sadly. The HOKA's just don't fit my foot well, I have very long narrow feet and it seems the toe bed was just very big but yet with my insoles they rubbed my bunion. I have always heard such wonderful things on Honas and esp for flat feet like I have, my husband had two
New pairs and loved them! Hopefully I'll be able to find some in a 13 narrow sometime and find a pair that works!

construct their shoes have changed (Asics, Brooks). So, I did the same with these Hoka but OMG they looked like clown shoes on my feet!!! I have big feet so it takes a truly ridiculous shoe to make me say that. I had to look at the box and the tongue to see if they sent me a men's shoe. It was so wide in the toe box and the entire shoe seemed wide, and was definitely too long. I tried on this same shoe a few months ago but I guess it must have been my normal size. This one is definitely going back and I'll reorder my regular shoe size. I do have to say I could tell the cushioning was awesome. Fingers crossed that a smaller size will work.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance, Brooks, Asics

I was hopeful about this shoe. Reviewers talked about Hoka with a shoe that didn't have a toe box too small. That has always been my fit problem with Hoka. But for my foot the whole front of the shoe is too wide. Even sizing down a half size I keep tripping on things because of the front width. Couldn't make it work with different socks and insoles.

The shoe runs warm and causes my feet to sweat. I do like how cushioned it is and the width. Also it tends to want to roll right. I don't like how heavy the shoe is.

I hoped the Hoka's would ease my plantar fasciitis, unfortunately they did not. They didn't make it worse either. Nice shoe overall but didn't help my problem.

I've been looking for a few years now to find the perfect shoe for all my foot needs. I finally ended up buying Gaviota 5 and I think I will probably keep it because it's way better than anything else I've come across on this current search. Having said that, though, it may be better than everything currently available but it's just nowhere near as good as Gaviota 2 was. Now, that was a shoe! If I had a time machine, I'd go back in time and buy up all the Gaviota 2 shoes that I'd need for the rest of my life! Since that's not likely to happen, I wish Hoka would just go back to their best shoe ever!

I love Gaviota 4 and would keep buying it. The Gaviota 5 seems to have less fusion at the heel but was only option so I tried it. Still good just like version 4 better.

I love the Gaviota 4 and was excited to get the 5. Very disappointed. They changed the shape and now they look the Bondi 8 with the (very) wide and rounded toe box. Still the most comfortable shoe though.

I walk 50 treadmill miles a week, and I keep track of how many miles are on my shoes. The Gaviota 4 is my 6th pair of Hokas, and while they're super comfortable, no complaints there, the inside of both heels is suddenly disintegrating. The foam padding came completely off this morning, leaving the hard plastic heel cup. In the past I've had several pairs of Bondis that I got up to 1000 miles on before replacing. These have only 489. I'm going back to Bondi because they're the best, even though they look like orthopedic clown shoes. Not sure how I'll get by until the strawberry color is available again!

I give them a thumbs up for comfort. I had to send them back the first time because they sent me a wide width. But even the regular width is too wide. Even with my orthotics in them. I had already took the regular insoles out and couldn't find them or I would have sent them back. So maybe down the road when I can afford to order another pair I will give a different style a try.

I bought several pairs of the Gaviota 4 over the past 1-2 years. They released Gaviota 5 recently, so I decided to give it a try. I think it is a lot different than the 4th generation. The sole of the 5 at the ball of the foot is about 1/2 inch wider than Gaviota 4 in my size. The are comfortable but look really bulky. I still like HOKAs so I am going to go to a retailer to see if I can find another style I like. I chose Gaviotas because of their stability so I am hoping I can find something comparable.
