Sizing was okay, but I didn’t think they were at all cushy as others have said. The sole felt hard to me. Returned.

Because I am an avid Hoka customer, and I previously bought and had the Giavotti 4, I ordered the 5 from the Hoka website. Same size and width of my previous shoes (I'm on my 4th pair of Hoka tennis shoes) but these seem to be made bigger. Definitely not the same comfort and stability of my previous shoes. My feet hurt at the end of my work day. I definitely will not order shoes again, I will definitely go to my local shoe store, that's not very local to me.

This is the first time I’ve gotten a shoe too wide and I’m 71 years old. I have almost tripped a couple of times due to the width of the shoe. Maybe it’s because I’m only 5’1” tall with short legs but this style really didn’t work for me.

These shoes are great except they look like clown shoes. I ordered a wide and they are kind of wide inside but for the most part, they look like orthopedic shoes. I would prefer a more trim sole so the "wideness" is not so prominent.

At first glance, I thought whoa, these are huge shoes and are going to be so heavy. But once I put them on, for people like me with wide feet, doesn't matter how huge, they weren't heavy at all. And I didn't even use my orthopedic inserts for support. One foot was perfect, but the other started rubbing my toe wrong. I called customer service to discuss and he was very nice and we decided to try another style that may not have that much support. Still waiting for the new one. The only other comment I'd like to make is Hoka should use a different system for exchanges or returns. My new shoes won't be shipped till they receive the return, so it'll be 2 wks before I have them. So many other options to use, Happy returns or once UPS scans the label, credit is given within 5 hours.

I had reoccurring stress fractures in my feet from walking and running my dogs, so my doctor recommended Hokas. These are comfortable, but the wear and tear on the soles seems to be unreasonable. I walk a lot, so i expect quicker wear and tear, but Hokas seem to wear twice as fast as brooks, and these were even worse. For the price, they need to be more durable than barely 2 months.

My wife likes the set I got her, but mine are too small. There was no return address on the label, nothing in the box, and nothing in my emails.

If I could exchange it for another one with more cushion I would. I have plantar fasciitis and pain on my heels so more cushion relieves the pain. I like it's bouncing impact and easy to put in and off. Almost like a slip on.

They are THE ugliest shoes I've ever worn, and made for folks with paddles for feet. But they seem to be working.

I have a very wide foot, and hoped these in the regular width would help. Despite my wide foot, these shoes were too wide. I feel that if I ever needed a roommate, they could live in the front of these shoes. I'm sorry they didn't work for me.

I have the Gaviota 4 and they are not as wide as the 5. I have a regular but still wider than the last model so my foot moves around. Bit too much.

We've read and heard about this shoe being the best for feet pain. I got mine and within 4 hrs I had to take them off, I couldn't cause I was at work. Only worn them for 8 hrs and they've been sitting by the corner of my room. Now I have to go repurchase the sketchers I should of bought in the first place. This shoe has no arch support. The shoe looks like I should be walking on clouds since is sooo freking huge, but the inside is what counts. I can wiggle my toes but my toes aren't the ones shooting pain to my back. It made my heels hurt. I thought my old shoes were hurting but my feet welcomed my oldies instead of Hoka. I'm wondering if I can return them.

I was much happier with the Gaviator 4. The toes area and sole are too wide. I feel like my feet are swimming in the shoe.

I bought this shoe for the large platform. I have a ruptured Achilles tendon and am wearing an orthotic brace. Bought this pair in a half size larger size and wide width to accommodate the brace. Feels fine but I could not sneak up on Helen Keller with this loudly squeaking shoe/brace combo. Brace is quiet with any other shoe. Wasted almost two hundred dollars. Mistake on my part, expensive mistake.

I ordered the same size that I've worn in the past but these were way too long and wide. After I went down a size, they fit and feel great. Return was quick and easy.

I’ve worn a 7.5 wide in the Gaviota 3 and 4. I tried the Gaviota 5 in the same size but they were huge! Tried size 7 wide but the toe box still made me look like i was wearing clown shoes. They dwarfed my 7.5 wide in the Gaviota 4. Never thought I’d say a shoe was too wide! I have bunions so finding a comfortable shoe is a challenge. I go for function over looks but I just couldn’t do the clown shoe. I tried the 7 regular. No longer looked huge but a little snug in the toe box. Guess I’ll wait for the Gaviota 6. I will say the 5 has nice cushion in the heel.

I have worn various Hola models over the years and have been a solid size 8.5 regular Homa shoe wearer. I bought the Gaviotta 5 in size 8.5, but they were soo large. Too wide and too long, so probably a half size too big all the way around. Tightening the laces and using a heel lock didnt help. I also feel like the shoe didnt have as much cushioning as Im used to with Homas, because my feet and my knees hurt more running in these shoes. They are going back, sadly.

I bought these shoes (along with 3 other shoes) in a size 9. The arch of the shoe was oddly placed and dug into my foot in a very painful way. I typically wear an 8.5 regular. The 9.5 was definitely a better fit, and much more comfortable. it gave my toes the wiggle room they needed The stability is great I felt that my foot was supported and had great grip on the floor, However, the frame of the shoe was digging into the arch of my foot. I decided to find a store that sold Hoka brand and try them in-store to see if the other sizes or regular/wide would be better. I tried 9 pairs of shoes from this brand and they all did the same thing. I started to think I was going crazy and maybe my feet were just weird. I had my mother and friend try the shoes as well and they had the same complaint that it dug into their arch. I recommend if you want to buy this brand that you find a store and try it on and save yourself the hassle of paying hundreds+ of dollars and having to return it. Like I did and play a game of ordering more and returning them. I would not recommend this shoe if you have not tried it before. After trying to see if this was just a few people's issues I have found multiple complaints and Readit threads about this issue.

I've owned the Hoka Gabiota 4. Bought the Gabiota 5 and you've changed the toe box and most importantly the shoe drop. Can't wear the new design.

This shoe has a SUPER wide toe box. It was too wide for me so I had to return them. Cute sneaker, reminded me of the Bondi. Very sturdy if you need a wide toe box this shoe is for you.

Sadly. The HOKA's just don't fit my foot well, I have very long narrow feet and it seems the toe bed was just very big but yet with my insoles they rubbed my bunion. I have always heard such wonderful things on Honas and esp for flat feet like I have, my husband had two New pairs and loved them! Hopefully I'll be able to find some in a 13 narrow sometime and find a pair that works!

construct their shoes have changed (Asics, Brooks). So, I did the same with these Hoka but OMG they looked like clown shoes on my feet!!! I have big feet so it takes a truly ridiculous shoe to make me say that. I had to look at the box and the tongue to see if they sent me a men's shoe. It was so wide in the toe box and the entire shoe seemed wide, and was definitely too long. I tried on this same shoe a few months ago but I guess it must have been my normal size. This one is definitely going back and I'll reorder my regular shoe size. I do have to say I could tell the cushioning was awesome. Fingers crossed that a smaller size will work.
