The forefoot is too tight for me, and my feet are more of a narrow width. In addition, the cushioning doesn’t compare to the bondi. I have a meniscus tear, and thought the atability of this shoe might be helpful. I prefer the Bondi 8, and it’s cushioning.

These shoes are certainly plush and provide great stability for my feet. However, I can barely tie the laces, they are so short compared to the Gaviota 4. Also, I regretfully went with a lighter color than my last pair, and the light gray really highlights the enormous width of the toe box, making them look like clown shoes. I wish I had gone with a darker color, or maybe tried the Arahi.

So many people recommended these to me. Found a discount on Cyber Monday and ordered. They are comfortable but not the best I have worn. Do not like the excessive amount of sole. Looks like I'm wearing snow shoes.

My first HOKA were th Gaviota 4 and I loved them as the comfort was great and not as clunky as other HOKAs. They completely changed the style and now they are very wide and round in the front not more comfortable and not very attractive. I kept them anyway because I have bad foot problems, and I desperately needed them but I won’t get them again please bring back the Gaviota 4!!!

I loved the Gaviota 4. Bought the gaviota 5 and first I don't like the look of the toe. To me it looks like "clown shoes" so big after the arch. Secondly I just noticed that the material at the back of the shoe to help pull them on is already frayed and hanging down!

I have a narrow foot and it seems there's too much room in the toe area.

Second pair of Gaviota 5 style I've purchased... this Second pair is stiff, No where near comfortable as the first pair. Shoe is much smaller than first pair even though they are the same size. Just not comfortable wish I returned but can't find them at stores locally.

I really thought these shoes would be better than my others but they haven't so far impressed me enough to buy another pair

I think these are wonderful shoes, but my poor deformed damaged feet don't think so. I tried the same shoe in different widths and all kinds of inserts and orthotics. They felt comfortably great... until I got up and walked. Sadly, had to always return them. Thanks for making the process so easy. I really loved these shoes and wish they had worked for me.

The wide shoe of this Hoka Gaviota 5 was WAY to wide, I returned and got this one in a medium width. They were to tight so back they go.

Sizing was okay, but I didn’t think they were at all cushy as others have said. The sole felt hard to me. Returned.

Because I am an avid Hoka customer, and I previously bought and had the Giavotti 4, I ordered the 5 from the Hoka website. Same size and width of my previous shoes (I'm on my 4th pair of Hoka tennis shoes) but these seem to be made bigger. Definitely not the same comfort and stability of my previous shoes. My feet hurt at the end of my work day. I definitely will not order shoes again, I will definitely go to my local shoe store, that's not very local to me.

This is the first time I’ve gotten a shoe too wide and I’m 71 years old. I have almost tripped a couple of times due to the width of the shoe. Maybe it’s because I’m only 5’1” tall with short legs but this style really didn’t work for me.

These shoes are great except they look like clown shoes. I ordered a wide and they are kind of wide inside but for the most part, they look like orthopedic shoes. I would prefer a more trim sole so the "wideness" is not so prominent.

At first glance, I thought whoa, these are huge shoes and are going to be so heavy. But once I put them on, for people like me with wide feet, doesn't matter how huge, they weren't heavy at all. And I didn't even use my orthopedic inserts for support. One foot was perfect, but the other started rubbing my toe wrong. I called customer service to discuss and he was very nice and we decided to try another style that may not have that much support. Still waiting for the new one.
The only other comment I'd like to make is Hoka should use a different system for exchanges or returns. My new shoes won't be shipped till they receive the return, so it'll be 2 wks before I have them. So many other options to use, Happy returns or once UPS scans the label, credit is given within 5 hours.

I had reoccurring stress fractures in my feet from walking and running my dogs, so my doctor recommended Hokas. These are comfortable, but the wear and tear on the soles seems to be unreasonable. I walk a lot, so i expect quicker wear and tear, but Hokas seem to wear twice as fast as brooks, and these were even worse. For the price, they need to be more durable than barely 2 months.

My wife likes the set I got her, but mine are too small. There was no return address on the label, nothing in the box, and nothing in my emails.

If I could exchange it for another one with more cushion I would. I have plantar fasciitis and pain on my heels so more cushion relieves the pain.
I like it's bouncing impact and easy to put in and off. Almost like a slip on.

They are THE ugliest shoes I've ever worn, and made for folks with paddles for feet. But they seem to be working.
