Overall the shoes looked great, they are just at least a full size larger than I expected. I thought I ordered womens 12 Narrow, these are 12 B which are too long and expecially wide.

The shoe is very nice looking. I ordered a woman's wide but it wasn't wide enough, so I reordered a men's wide. It should come in today.

I love the color and the support. I ordered a wide size but it was still too narrow.

From Year to year the fit varies slightly. This time they are slightly wider on the heel area where I happen to be the narrowest

The Gaviota 5 is a wonderfully stable shoe. I do find the toe box a bit large, larger than the 4.

Size was true and plenty of space in the toe box. I have a bunion and Morton's neuroma and always need an arch support insert. Even though they are very cushioned they still aggravated the neuroma so I sadly had to return them.

bought 2 pair. The one I bought at the Runner's Roost store are nowhere as comfortable as the ones I ordered on line. They are the same type, Gaviota 5 . Wish I would have bought them both online.

I have worn this Hoka style for several years and gave several pairs. This item does not fit righ or seem like the same quality.
I'd also recommend:

The shoes were super nice, but they made my feet hurt. I had to exchange them for another style.

I bought the sneakers a few weeks ago - wore them for the first time this weekend - purchased a 7.5 bc I tried a 7 on in the store - 7.5 feels a little big - 7 would have been perfect .. sad that these are bigger then I thought they would be but I love the look and feel of the sneaker

Really comfortable. A little higher/taller than I was anticipating which makes me nervous if I roll my ankle but overall, love them.

I'm on my feet all day in a medical facility, Hoka have saved my feet and legs from the pain I had before I bought my first pair of Gaviota 4's about a year ago. I bought the 5's thinking they would be the same, if not better, and I was a little wrong. The toe box area seems extra wide ( I do purchase wide ) and the arch seemed a bit more forward . I will be searching for the Gaviota 4 to have in the closet when my new 5's wear out!

I wear these shoes to walk/hike. They are very comfortable and my arthritic foot does not hurt during those walks.

At first the shoe is tight and uncomfortable, but after breaking them in, they are comfortable and feel light and cushioned. I wear wide, so the shoe does look big on my foot, but fits well, and comfort is more important to me than appearance

A friend recommended the Gaviota. This shoe was too large. Went to a Hoka hub and got the Arahi 6, my old go to.will stick, with the Arahi! Love the Arahi. The Gaviota would be great if I had a wider foot.

I discovered Hoka last year. I'm a nurse, so I spend a lot of time on my feet. I've tried many brands and styles of shoe, but nothing gives the comfort and support of Hoka shoes. I had the previous model of this show, and I honestly liked it better. The design is ok, and I like the color. I ordered the same size as I ordered previously, but they feel too big. However, going a half size down would almost be too small. I don't know why there seems to be such a discrepancy in size, but I already water proofed the pair I have, so, not they aren't returnable (not the fault of Hoka). I'd like to see more consistancy in sizing between older and newer models. Otherwise, I highly recommend these shoes!

I ordered the wide version and I'm happy with all the room my toes have. Maybe a little to much ...but better than to tight! I'm a lot on my knees and my toes need the room to spread. Since I walk all day on cement floors, I really wished they would have had as much cushion as the bondi but overall it is a good shoe

Pros = I bought the Wide size and they are perfect width for MY feet. My feet are wide and most shoes are not wide enough, so these felt great on my first run. These have encouraged me to try more Hoka's!
I wore them today on a run for the first time - and NO blisters!
Cons = I run 4-5 times a week and usually wear Nike, and it felt like the ball of the foot was too high relative to the heel. Maybe another style might feel different.

I'm an active 82-year-old. I wear only Hokas, for absolutely everything. An orthopedist recommended them for sesamoiditis, and I never looked back. Thank you, Hoka, for improving my life.
