I returned this product! This was my third and least comfortable pair of Hokas. I wore them one day, while yard sailing, and they rubbed my foot raw , nearly blistered all along the arch due to the seam not being smooth along the insole.

I bought a pair hopeful I'd find the shoe that I could do some real walk/running in that would be kind to my feet because I am prone to arthritis. These were clunky and my foot kept falling into my instep. The size chart didn't help. These things need to be tried on in person. I'm sure they are great shoes, but I didn't find what I was hoping to find.

I returned these shoes. I had the Gaviota 4 and loved them but with the new changes to these shoes, the Gaviota 5 felt unsupportive and painful. I was not able to walk in them for more than 15 minutes. Even with a wide size, they felt uncomfortable. I do appreciate that HOKA has more wide sizes in various colors; however, my feet could not handle these shoes and the new frames. I ended up getting another pair of Gaviota 4 on sale.

I asked many co-workers who purchased a pair to their style & feet so I gave it a try well for me it hurt my feet & not just my feet but my arch as well brought back pain on my shins for I work at a place that I need to be on my feet for 8 hours 5 days a week And I needed that extra support but I been using it for about almost over 3 weeks And it sucks I asked my husband to buy them for me knowing it was going to be expense now I'm stuck with wearing a pair of hoka's that hurt my feet

These shoes are extremely comfortable, but for some reason I have extreme back pain after wearing them. I don't normally have back pain so it is definitely caused by the shoes. Also, the fabric broke between the top two holes for shoe laces the first time I laced them up. They still work, but the quality was disappointing.

This new version is way too wide and doesn't feel anything like the 4's. If the regular fit is this wide, then there should be a narrow version.

I cant believe the difference in this Gaviota 5 and the previous version Gaviota 4. Has anyone had the same problem? The material on the front half of the shoe is just too much, it wrinkles and puckers and looks plain ugly and sloppy clown like. This is the worst pair of Hoka I have purchased so far. I needed the stability and cushion but this particular shoe was built all wrong. I do not leave bad reviews if the shoe was nice, but not for me, but this one should not have gone through inspection. I purchased the Gaviota 4 somewhere else because Hoka doesn't have them here. They came in the Deckers box from Deckers so they must be able to get them. Its a shame, these are do expensive but I was so excited to get them based on the description. I will stick with the Gaviota 4. How disappointing.

I have worn nothing but Gaviotas for the past 4 years--for running, walking and sometimes even for work. I really liked both the substantial cushioning and also the stability since my feet will pronate/collapse without the support The new model doesn't work for me at all unfortunately because they are much too wide for my feet. The fact that people are writing in the reviews about how they usually need to wear a WIDE shoe but in the Gaviota, they can now just wear a regular size sums it all up. Great for people with wide feet, but these shoes no longer work for my regular width feet. I can't wear the Arahi's as the heel cup is too shallow. I'm very disappointed that the Gaviotas no longer work for me.

I laughed out loud when I tried these shoes on! They are enormous and look like clown shoes! They definitely run bit and are VERY wide. I have worn the Gaviota in the past but this the absolute worst model to date. Stick with the Arahi.

My shoes are 3 got in April 22 yes they are not new. Don't run and have only walked occasionally. Warranty is out, but I notice the fabric from the shoe laces to the toe is shredding. To Mr a pair of shoes should not come apart like this. These are very expensive shoes, or for me they are. When they are not used to run or walk miles a day, is this the life of the shoe suppose to be.

I purchased the Gaviator 3 last year. Love the fit and comfort. I purchases the Gaviator 5. It is 1/2 inch longer and 1/4 inch wider that the Gaviator 3. Too sloppy to wear. I ordered the next size down and they are too short.

Uneven size. Right longer than the left. Uneven size and plastic at the bottom, makes it hard to walk. Too bad as it was recommended by a physical therapist. I'm trying to return but unable to find the return label as it was not emailed. Difficult return practices as they come from the UK. I've found UK products to be always inferior to U.S. as you get a lot less for your buck

Bought this after it being recommended since I am on my feet all day. It feels WAY to wide on the side of my feet. It fits ok, but I didn't get the extra width, and it feels like thats what I was sent even though its not listed as being a wider fit. Length is fine, just insanely wide to the point I can move my whole foot in the shoe. Past the return date so I am stuck with them. Wasted money on an expensive pair of shoes.

I exchanged my shoes because I had an issue with the Gaviota 4 and was hoping to get my same shoe but they didn't offer the 4 anymore therefore I was forced to get the 5 thinking that can't be much different but boy was I wrong. The support in need was more some in my heel but the 5 give more support in the front of my feet instead. I wish I could get the 4 again because the support it gave my back was outstanding. I am an avid runner and they were great for me but know I don't even run in the 5 because its just not the same support where I need it. The 5 also fits to small on my feet

I heard nothing but great things about your shoes. Maybe if I didn't already have issues with my feet, I would be a happy buyer as well. I did the "find your shoe" and purchased the ones that were recommended for me. Wearing these I started having more issues with my feet...

I hate these shoes. This all-new version of the Hoka Gaviota is horrible. When I walked around my living room, they seemed fine, and I was so pleased with the nice wide toe box. But the first time I wore them outside, the right shoe slipped off my foot. I had to stick on one of those heel protector foams to keep my foot from slipping out. And then I noticed the very aggressive arches. They are aggressive and huge, like Oofos. I have Oofos, which worked great for a year, and then I started getting pain in my knees and hips. It was those Oofos sandals! I was so enamored with these Hoka toe box, I didn't notice the aggressive arches until I walked outside on concrete. The huge aggressive arches causes me to kind of fall back onto the rear of my feet, which started hurting. So then I had to use a thick foam insert. But that still wasn't enough. I had to add lifts. This was all to basically raise the footbed so that the aggressive arches could be lowered when hitting my feet. I thought all this doctoring would work, it felt pretty good. But after walking around in the mall for a couple hours, my knees needed to recover for a day. They basically put Oofos arches into these Hokas. It may be good for some people for recovery after a run, but it's bad for everyday wearing. I hate these Hokas that I spent $175 on.
