Unfortunately I have worn the Gaviotas forever and now the toe space is. Too big. Not bighuge. So dissatisfied and disappointed in this upgrade. All 3 pairs going back and will wait for next year.

I've consistently worn Brooks and wanted to see what all the hype was about with these shoes. I ordered a new pair of brooks and these shoes to compare how them. These were lighter, but way too wide and way too big. They lacked the support that Brooks has. I have plantar fasciitis and will be sticking with Brooks.

Glad I didn't buy wide because they are very big at the front. Feels like I'm falling backwards, like Im walking on my heels.Never wore those rocking, calf building shoes but I can imagine this is how they felt. I never pay this much for shoes and I'm just disappointed. Wore them to work one time.

For some reason the Hoka shoe is not a good fit for my foot. It causes me to feel pain in my foot when wearing

I bought my usual size. My toe went over the end into the weird rubber toe space and the shoe sole was huge. I returned right away

I am not a runner. However, I do walk a lot and have inflammatory arthritic issues in my feet, hip, and lower back. I first found the Gaviota 3's and they were life changing. The J frame and plush design helped keep my feet stable and kept pressure off my angry feet in all the right places. I have been buying them for years. I was really excited to try the 5's. Unfortunately, I was instantly disappointed. The lighter shoe is nice, but not at the expense of stability and cushioning that I need. I'm not a fan of the H frame either. I gave them a fair shot for a few weeks and noticed that my heals were not fully supported either. Almost as if they were popping in and out of the shoe. The only nice thing about the redesign is the colors. I don't like anything else about the Gaviota 5's and they were returned. I'm now on a search for something with the stability and cushioning that I came to expect from Gaviotas.

I need the stability of this shoe, but they keep making them worse instead of improving them. I am going to have to find a new shoe brand. The Wide Gaviota 2 and Gaviota 3 were perfect, super comfortable. When they came out with the Wide Gaviota 4 they were tight and hurt my feet so I bought three pairs of Gaviota 3 hoping it would get me through until the Gaviota 5 came out. When they released the Gaviota 5 I was excited and ordered 2 pairs. Unfortunately they added this weird side bump out/wing to the outside edges of the shoes. It's ugly, but worst of all the shoe is wider and my foot slips off my orthotic inside the shoe, which it does not do in the last Gaviota 2 and Gaviota 3 shoes.

Hi, I wear Hoka Gaviota. I wear size 10.5 wide. The gaviota 4 are great for my plantar fascities. I ordered Gaviota 5 - these shoes hurt my feet. My heal hurts - they are not the same shoe! I order 2 hokas about ever 3 months. I tried wearing the 5 but it hurts my feet which is causing me to limp. No one has contacted me!

I was very disappointed in this shoe. It is nothing like the Gaviota 4. The toe area is very boxy and my foot slipped around the shoe. Plus the shoe does not feel as long-my toe was right to the edge of the shoe. I've been buying Gaviotas for years and loved the comfort and support but didn't find this in the Gaviota 5

I hoped for a running shoe that would replace the Bondi 7.but just can't find it. It's even more painful than your new version Bondi 8! So sad because I have loved Hokas for yearssomething in the new engineering isn't working for me.

Front was so wide it looked like clown shoes. When I walked the fronts banged against each other. The insole was hard and stiff. It was so rough it hurt my feet. So disappointed because I loved the look.

Can’t really comment on exact fit since the shoes were shipped without any insoles. Came in a brown unmarked box, not a blue hoka box. Will be returning and ordering directly from hoka.

I have psoriatic arthritis in my feet and toes. The orthotics only held up for 2 weeks of being on my feet all day for my job. I was very disappointed in this style as I used to wear JOYA shoes all the time, but I needed a shoe with extra toe space for the swelling of my toes and feet from the psoriatic arthritis.

Im getting emails on how i am enjoying my shoes. I never received any shoes, I ordered them and got nothing but excited to just find out something went wrong with my purchase a couple of days later. So I tried again and same thing. I just said enough is enough and never got any shoes. I didn't want reorder a 3rd time just to probably be disappointed again. I honestly can't review this shoe.

They are comfortable when you first get them but they stretch out and flop on your feet after a couple of weeks. Big waste of money! I returned them.

I walk 3 miles a day. I was very happy with the Bondi 8. I wanted to try the Gaviota 5. And I am very disappointed because it does not have enough cushion and it's causing me to have shin splints.
