I chose the Anacapa 2 Low GTX to replace the U Clifton L GTX I bought two years ago. I an an "urban walker" and the asphalt eats up the tred on regular walkers. In addition, the Goretex allows me to walk anywhere without getting wet feet. I chose the Anacapa over the current Clifton GTX as it is sturdy and has a better toe box for my foot. The only complaint I have is that the shoelaces are horrible. They are cut and color coordinated, but round and thick and DON'T stay tied. I am searching for another kind.

I bought these for an upcoming trip to Montana. I have been wearing them around the house a bit and overall they are very comfortable. I do feel that the tongue is a bit stiff, and concerned that it might cause a blister to form once I put them to the true test....hopefully not, though!

I was so happy to find these PINK+PURPLE shoes! They were everything I was looking for; waterproof, lightweight, flexible, good heel cushion, the best colorway ever. But throughout the week, my legs and lower back began to hurt and my cats helped me figure out why. As they were rough housing, they knocked these shoes off the shoe rack and I noticed them wobble in a weird way when they landed. I picked up a shoe and rolled it from heel to toe as if in a walking motion. The sole had been forcing my foot to roll from the outer heel to the inner big toe, completely ruining my balance and making my ankles and calves overcompensate for stability. This is a horrendous design. I tried on other Hoka shoes and noticed exactly the same sole pattern, must roll from outer heel to big toe. My love affair with Hoka has ended as hard and fast as it began.

Expensive yet for me worth it. Purchased water proof shoes to walk the dog in colder weather, to keep my feet warmer and so far my toes are staying warm.

What a great shoe! I have been a Hoka fan for over 10 years. I wear them for running & walking. I have not had a problem with plantar fasciitis since wearing Hokas. I had a previous pair of Hoka hikers, but wore them out! I find that Hokas fit pretty much true to size. However, I did buy 1/2 size larger to accommodate a thicker hiking sock.

Great shoe! Hiked 10 miles on the AT and no aches and pains afterwards. Didn't have to "break in" the shoe beforehand either!

Super grippy and comfy on first wear, no blisters thank god. Did a steep trail that had water running down it, zero water seeped through and did not slip even once on the slick rocks. Really appealing side silhouette and the coloring is rich.

Unlike other hiking shoes, these were comfortable and supportive right out of the box. They fit true to size in width, might be snug if you have a wide foot. Plenty of rooms for my toes. They run a tiny bit long, though. It's not uncomfortable, so I'll keep them.

The Anacapa 2 Low in blue is really pretty. The toe box seems just a little snugger than the Anacapa Breeze. I am returning the 2 because it's not as comfortable as the breeze on my feet.

Small toe box makes this shoe uncomfortable, narrow in both dimensions.

I have purchased several Hoka Bondi and Clifton shoes over the years in size 8 1/2 which fit me perfectly. I really liked the style and color of the new Anacapa shoes but neither the size 8 1/2 nor the size 9 fit properly and both were too small in the toe area.

Went through two pairs of the same shoes. Both leaked at the big toe on both shoes after walking a short distance through wet grass.

I ordered these to replace the worn out Anacapa Low GTX I bought last spring - which were not the greatest but at least decent. At first I thought there was some kind of mistake because these were not recognizable as being the same shoe. These have a tighter toe box, almost no cushioning, and soles that are stiff as a wooden board. I will never again spend so much money to essentially beta test Hoka's latest downgrade in quality. The Bondi 5s and 6s were amazing, but in recent years Hoka quality has gone down hill across every model I've tried.

I have had HOKA running shoes before (that I LOVED) so it is no surprise that these are also great. They are really cute and really comfortable, with seemingly great grip. I ordered both these and a pair of hiking boots to compare. Ultimately, I decided to keep the boots because I think I will need the extra ankle support for my hike (Huayna Picchu.. iykyk), but if I could keep both pairs, I would. Never took these on the trails, but if I am ever in the market for hiking shoes again, this is where I am turning!

This shoe was purchased because it was recommended for hiking for someone who has severe arthritis in the big toe. So far comfortable to put on, wear, hike and pull off

I ordered these hiking boots because I needed a waterproof boot with more cushioning at the ball of my foot. I ordered the boots on the 27th and they arrived on the 30th. Timing couldn't have been better, because on the 31st we had a foot of snow, so I was able to put these to the test. They passed with FLYING COLORS!!! They are the most comfortable and supportive boots I've ever had! There is enough give that you can wear a thin sock or thick ski socks and still feel comfortable. I've been out in the snow numerous times a the last 3 days and my feet have stayed dry and happy!!! HIGHLY recommend them.

I have had severe metatarsal pain (pad of foot) and these shoes feel so good! They are not squishy soft but have support just where it's needed. Firm feel with a slight padding heel area. I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 8. I ordered the 8 and they are a tad long but still feel solid. My heal does not slip out. But I have a LOT of room for my toes. I have a slightly slim foot. Anacapa 2 is my favorite new shoe.

Although I rarely use GTX version (Scottsdale, AZ! no rains and too hot), I can't get enough of Breese ( non-GTX version). I use these boots every weekend for extended trail and off-trail running with come climbing, which is a combination of rock, desert hard pack, decomposed granite, and occasional sandy washes. Light weight, good cushion, good traction, good grip, and superb lateral stability on rocks or cross-slope. There is one problem that I would say all trail running footwear are sharing: no protection from smaller cacti and their clusters on the trail. The entire small toe area and both sides just above soles are vulnerable to tiny needles piercing through the fabric. Also, I could not find Narrow models. Most of shoes and boots are for the feet with squared toes, and it is not working well for narrow pointy feet where all impact is concentrated on big toe, especially downhill. Tried to tie the laces as much as possible but it does not help in the toes area which is quite wide. Last thing: Paaleease- no speed lacing. I ditched salomon a while ago because of that speed lacing. Speed laces do not work. They loosen up entirely every 10 minutes, and do not tie well. Opting in to military style lacing would be a better option- it has been proven to work for the longest times and in toughest conditions. Lastly: when Anacapa Breese High or Medium will be back in stock?
