I have had severe metatarsal pain (pad of foot) and these shoes feel so good! They are not squishy soft but have support just where it's needed. Firm feel with a slight padding heel area. I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 8. I ordered the 8 and they are a tad long but still feel solid. My heal does not slip out. But I have a LOT of room for my toes. I have a slightly slim foot. Anacapa 2 is my favorite new shoe.

Although I rarely use GTX version (Scottsdale, AZ! no rains and too hot), I can't get enough of Breese ( non-GTX version). I use these boots every weekend for extended trail and off-trail running with come climbing, which is a combination of rock, desert hard pack, decomposed granite, and occasional sandy washes. Light weight, good cushion, good traction, good grip, and superb lateral stability on rocks or cross-slope. There is one problem that I would say all trail running footwear are sharing: no protection from smaller cacti and their clusters on the trail. The entire small toe area and both sides just above soles are vulnerable to tiny needles piercing through the fabric. Also, I could not find Narrow models. Most of shoes and boots are for the feet with squared toes, and it is not working well for narrow pointy feet where all impact is concentrated on big toe, especially downhill. Tried to tie the laces as much as possible but it does not help in the toes area which is quite wide.
Last thing: Paaleease- no speed lacing. I ditched salomon a while ago because of that speed lacing. Speed laces do not work. They loosen up entirely every 10 minutes, and do not tie well. Opting in to military style lacing would be a better option- it has been proven to work for the longest times and in toughest conditions.
Lastly: when Anacapa Breese High or Medium will be back in stock?

My job requires long walks and constant stepping in and out of trucks, which used to leave my feet sore by the end of the day. These shoes completely changed the game. My feet no longer hurt, and it honestly feels like I'm walking on a cushion. Very comfortable and supportive for long workdays

These shoes are perfect when my actual "snowshoes" are too much. I can walk on streets with confidence. I would for sure buy them again.

These shoes took a little bit to wear in but now they are as comfortable as can be! Working on various surfaces with heavy equipment ie snow ice dirt rocky mud etc the great grip they offer is amazing. It gives me great comfort to know that I'm not going to be falling on my face. Lol I'll definitely be purchasing these again!!

I tried 4 or 5 different hiking shoes, none of them felt as comfortable as these. The others either bothered my toe from the way they were constructed, or didn't feel cushioned enough. These felt as close to the Cliftons as far as comfort and fit, exactly what I was looking for.

Comfortable right out of the box and didn't require break in. I started hiking in them right away. The large heel of the shoe prevented both my ankles from rolling (which I'm prone to and have sprained my ankle many times before). Highly recommend! The colorway I have is also very cute.

I have several Hoka sneakers, and was thrilled to see a new Hoka boot. Comfortable right out of the box, good for tramps across the fields and woods with dogs in all weather. So glad I got these boots!

I love these Hokas. From the very first time I wore them they were comfortable. As though they were broken in already. I've had compliments on them every time I wear them as they are attractive as well as cosy looking. And I walk a good deal with a very active dog

I actually bought these at a Hoka flagship store in NYC but live them so much I really wanted to share my enthusiasm when I saw them on the LLBean website. I usually wear the Bondi One for general everyday walking around but wanted something a bit more substantial and that would keep my feet dry for the winter months. These feel amazingly comfortablelight but also supportive and with just the right amount of flexibility in the sole. I have been extremely happy with these! Great for tooling around the city.

I tried on several different styles of Hoka before I settled on the Anacapa 2. These are just the right amount of bouncy softness balanced with a very supportive feeling shoe. Not too soft and not too rigid. I liked them so much I bought a second pair. I will say I had to size up a half size. I am an 8.5 in other brands, but in Hoka's I take a 9.

Bought these for hiking in Iceland and as I'm breaking them in around the house I'm impressed. They're lightweight and comfortable. I don't think I'll have any issues wearing them for long periods of time.

These shoes are so comfortable for long walks. They are my shoes of choice for outdoor activities, particularly activities that would normally set off my knee. I also appreciate having dry feet when it unexpectedly rains.

I had to exchange them for a half size smaller than my usual size. The color is pretty, but quite a bit lighter than the online picture shows. All in all, they feel great.

I have a seriously hard time finding shoes I can walk in. Especially for distance trails. Well, FOUND IT!
Comfortable and supportive. My feet aren't tired or in pain after I do a 5 mile walk.

I have been wearing this boot for two months during a Maine winter, walking in snow and on ice. My surgeon told me to only wear Hoka shoes after I broke my ankle in two places. This boot keeps my bad ankle comfy and has kept me dry except once when I walked through a really deep puddle. If you are like me and need extra cushioning, or you just want to feel good when you walk, these are awesome, for hiking or walking on a slippery sidewalk. Because it looks more like a tennis shoe and comes in nice colors it is more versatile too and I can wear it out to lunch.
