I do not know why, but I really had trouble sizing this shoe correctly. I usually wear an 8.5-9 in Hoka. I ordered my normal size of 9 and they were HUGE. I had to double check they were Women's size. I ordered down to an 8.5 and they were still too long. Finally, the size 8 was the best fit, although I wish I had a "smidge" more toe room. My toes were not to the end of the shoe, but I would have been more comfortable with another millmeter. The 8.5 gave me too much roomy length.. I have never had sizing issues. Usually wear a 9, sometimes 8.5 depending, but never an 8. Strange. That being said, these are comfortable and supportive. Love the color. Only wish there was a bit more cushioning in the forefoot, but I am not hiking hundreds of miles in these either. Great shoe if you can figure out your size!

I am very happy with the way this hiking shoes perform. The only problem I had is that the left shoes it may have a defect on the side of the top lace hook and it bothers my skin. I was going to return it for that reason. They gladly will offer refund. But I figure to put long socks and fold them for extra cushion on that area where the defect picks and bother a bit.

I like it and especially like the tread but I am disappointed that it isn't as insanely comfortable as the waking shoe.

These are great shoes. They do run a little wide though.

Nice, light, comfortable hiking shoe. I wear HOKA Speedgoat for most of my hiking, but wanted an alternative with some ankle support and waterproof, so this is a great choice. I needed a half size larger in this model versus the trail runners. Four stars because they are pricey.

The boot is light weight and once I can get it on, it's very comfortable. However, the tongue is attached quite high on the boot without the deep pleats present on my other hiking boots. As a result I find them very difficult to put on and take off, even with the sturdy heel pulls. I would guess that the design improves water resistance.
I'm a retired teacher with 2 knee replacements and low back issues I think if I were younger and more flexible I wouldn't have any problems with the boots.

Very comfortable right from the box. Toe box is roomy enough for feet to expand on a warm day.

I wanted to love this shoe. I love the color and style. But, unfortunately, these shoes felt narrow. So, sadly, I am sending them back. I love Hokas, and will continue my search for the best Hoka for me.

I bought Anacapa 2 Mid GTX and the Mid Breeze version as well as Trail Code GTX . Love the colors of all three. The trail code did not have any toe protection whatsoever, so they were out of the race. I took the Anacapas on test hikes. I walked in some snow and the GTX kept my feet dry. Both pairs are comfortable at first even though I was hoping for a bit more cushion. About mile 5 hot spots started to develop on the side of both my heels even though I was wearing quality wool socks. After having the same experience with both pairs: blisters on the same spots of the in-side of my heels I realized that it is not just one pair issue, so I ended up returning them all.

Great fit, comfort, and features. I don't know what the sky looks like where these are made, but these shoes are purple. Fluorescent light, incandescent light, daylight...purple.

I think these Hokas look pretty cool and I love the loop at the back of the heel to help me get them on. However, I'm surprised that these Anacapas don't feel like they have any arch support and they aren't nearly as soft and cushioned as some of my other Hokas. I'm going to add some Superfeet insoles and consider keeping them, but it seems for the price, they should be more cushy and supportive straight out of the box.

I'm loving how these shoes provide stability to the ankles while still being lightweight and having a decently roomy toe box. The larger sole adds to the stability, and they fit perfectlyI wear a standard size 8. I also use removable lifts for arch support. I usually hike a few miles on moderate terrain.
However, I do have some concerns about the durability of the blown rubber in the middle of the sole.

Love how comfortable these feel right out of the box, however, be aware- they did give me blisters on my first 3 hikes with them thus far. On a positive note- they are waterproof! Tested in the Washington rain and through a few stream crossings. Super grippy!
Wore in Arizona for a few hikes last week, and they get pretty warm.

I work for the postal service and have a walking route. I walk 10-12 miles a day plus some driving, and then go and help on other routes. So I am on my feet for atleast 12-13 hours a day. I love the boot tie instead of just regular tennis shoe tie. Very comfortable and are the perfect ankle height so my ankles don't get cold but perfect for how I do my everyday.

These "boots" are as comfortable as any athletic shoe but have the advantage of some ankle support. Last summer I found hiking in athletic shoes to be so much more comfortable than hiking boots. I think these will be the perfect compromise between stiff boots and athletic shoes.
I did think they are little tighter on my feet than my other Hokas but when I tried a half size up my foot slid around in the larger size.

I purchased in my Norma HOKA size (7) and my toe hit the end of the shoe, so I exchanged for a 7.5 and they were too sloppy.

I love these lightweight hiking boots but unfortunately there's a seam that rubs right on my ankle bone. I've already worn them 2-3 days outside, so I don't know what I can do about it other than loosen the top two laces. Disappointing that this small feature has frustrated my experience of these otherwise wonderful boots!

I've had 4 pairs of anacapa but differing styles. I got the gore Tex for winter rain but the shoe feels odd. It's not as light weight as the other ones and not as much cushioning so my feet hurt.
