I developed knee pain wearing these shoes. I suspect it's due to the rocker design or the thick sole.

The heel is cut much lower than previous models, creating ankle instability.

I've worn Gaviotas for last 3 years. They've really helped my overpronation and my feet/legs don't hurt at the end of the day. I was really disappointed when I received the Gaviota 5s. First, the wide toe looks like Ronald McDonald shoes. Then, the support in the heel is gone. My foot sinks with each step causing strain on my knees. I'm returning for Arahi's. Hopefully they'll have the support I've been used to with HOKA.

As someone who wears a 4E, I was hopeful that when I saw the Gaviota 5 had a wider toe box than the G4 that it would fit me since I loved the feel of walking in the G4 but had to return due to the toe width. Even though I returned the G4, I still recommended it to others who wear 2E since it was comfortable and supportive otherwise. The G5 is a huge step back from the G4 in my opinion. Rather than feeling supportive and correcting my overpronation like in the G4, which I literally described to others as the feeling of gliding along, the G5 felt like I was walking in quicksand, additionally with pressure points being triggered in my feet as well as my knees. My hopes of a wider (4E) G4 were crushed by the G5. Huge step backwards. If you need 4E, can try New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v13, close to G4, but in 4E.

I like the product in the short time I have had it. The problem, in my opinion, is that there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Very sad.

I called HOKA and Valencia was very professional and courteous, mail exchange for Clifton 9's. I am so glad I bought through HOKA website with the 30 day exchange! Patrick Rodriguez HM1 USN, RN, BSN Emergency Services

This is my second pair of Hokas and I couldn't be more disappointed. They are the most uncomfortable pair of shoes I have ever put on my feet. I will be returning them.

The first shoe that was delivered, the heel loop pulled out the first time I tried them on. The chat support told me that I should send them back and that a replacement would come in 3-4 weeks. Since I am training for a 10k and needed to replace my shoes, that was not going to work so they recommended that since it was a defect, I could order another pair and then return the originals when they arrived. The pair they sent was the wrong item so now I have to return those as well. Other than the manufacturing defect, I really like the shoes and they work great. The customer support policy and the consistency of product/shipping have room for improvement. I would recommend going to your local running store to make sure there are no defects when you purchase them and don't have the wrong shoe delivered.

I normally purchase your Bondi model and change them out every six months. Almost 2 years ago I had total knee replacement, and your Bondi model has been fantastic. Recently you sent me an advertisement .I normally purchase your Bondi model and change amount every six months. Almost 2 years ago, I had total knee replacement, and your body model has been fantastic. Recently you sent me an advertisement for this new model, and I decided to try it. It was the worst decision I've ever made. While using this new model, I was developing knee pain on my surgical knee for the first time since I recuperated from my surgery. I've stopped using this model and return back to my old Bondi model.

The sizing is wrong on this shoe. The right shoe was clearly more narrow than the left shoe. Left shoe was great and supportive. Right shoe was tight and measured about 1/4 more narrow. To bad because I loved the look and feel of the left shoe. I have many pairs of Hoka shoes and have never had this problem.

The new Graviata 5 has No resemblance of fit to prior models. This new last is much wider and sloppy fitting. I never return purchases but after wearing the shoe for two days my feet were a wreck.

The shoes I bought are cheap, seams are blown out not even a week in. Poor quality for an expensive running shoe

Hoka was recommended by my podiatrist. He felt that the HOKA shoe offered superior support and, more importantly, cushioning for the bottom of my feet. This shoe did not live up to the recommendation.

I thought the Gaviota 4 was the perfect shoe. The upgrade to 5 is just awful. After wearing them for three days, it's obvious the fundamental design of this shoe has changed too much. And that's really too bad.

I have never in my entire 47 years have had sneakers give me calluses. When the package was delivered the sneakers were almost "melted" due to the heat of the fed ex truck. Not sure if this had an effect on the sneakers but do not spend 175!!

The Hoka Gaviotahas been my 'go to' shoe. I have 4 pairs and it is the only shoe I can comfortably walk in for long distances. When I received my new Gaviota 5 shoe, I was shocked to see that the toe box was soooo wide that only feet shaped like a duck would fit the shoe. I could have fitted 2-3 more toes in there and still had room. The shoe is ruined for me now and guess I'll have to look elsewhere for a new brand.
