The Gaviota was too firm and uncomfortable. I returned it for the TRANSPORT, which is soooo comfortable, I bought a second pair

I was hoping these shoes were worth the hype but the quality quickly wears and isn't worth the price.

the backs are terrible! The heel! I can't get my foot in without trying to stretch the back out!

These shoes are about the only option I seem to have due to multiple foot problems. They are somewhat comfortable, but I feel like my feet swim in them, and I end up wearing thicker socks. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, my feet hurt, and I can’t wear them for more than a couple of days in a row without suffering knee and back pain. I would have returned them, but it took wearing them a couple of days before this problem arose. Because they are worn, I am stuck with them. They are awful looking as well; I feel like I am wearing clown shoes as they are so big and clunky. I will be going back to ASICS.

The shoe just seems oddly shaped around the front. I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. Online, I thought the shoe looked like Cliftons, but it was not what I expected.

I have been a big fan on the Hoka Bondi shoes and have owned several pairs. Unfortunately, my left foot has started to supinate and the Bondis do not have enough support. I was hopeful that the Gaviota would be the answer with the new H frame support and supposedly Bondi like cushioning. While the Gaviota are more supportive, the cushioning is lacking. I can feel the H frame when I walk and after a while it starts to hurt my feet. I returned the Gaviota and will continue to search for a supportive shoe with Bondi level cushioning.

I was disappointed with the way they look so wide. They do feel wonderful when you put them on. Just can't get past the appearance of being wide with a regular foot.

This is my 5th pair. I thought the grey and rose gold would be stylish but it's been anything but. The knit texture grabs dirt and spills like a magnet. This pair has been laundered more than all my others put together. Every time I look down, there's a spot or worse two dingy toes. They feel great but look awful once you wear them.

After three years of daily use my previous Stinsons were ready to be replaced. I bought the newer version along with these Gaviotas assuming they would be the same quality. This was not the case. After only 2 months of occasional use, both pairs of shoes began to become warped and after three months the seems had started to unstitch. These were incredibly expensive shoes and for both of them to fall apart after around only 100 hours of use is ridiculous. Hoka was my absolute favorite brand of shoes and I'd recommend them to anyone that would listen, but now I highly doubt I'll ever purchase again.

I got this shoe for the stability and cushioning I need for work. The stability is good, I like the arch support, and the wide toe box. What I don't like is the lack of cushion, it feels like there isn't any, also the tongue of the shoes drift even when using the loop on the tongue. It drifts enough for the laces to cut into my foot where i tie them, so I keep having to adjust them through my shift. Before I added new insoles I was limping 2 hours into my shift, the insoles make the shoes tolerable, but they aren't comfortable and I still experience some pain. I work on cement all day for 8 hours, so comfort is imperative. This shoe just isn't working, which sucks because it was so expensive.

Four to five days per week, I power-walk 4 miles. With my Brooks adrenaline GTS I get 4-5 months of wear. I chose this style brooks for the stability. I decided to try the Hoka Gaviota 5. No change to my walking routine I got 2 months of wear. I am going back to my Brooks. Also, I have narrow feet. The Hoka felt a little bit too roomy.

Absolutely no cushioning, even though it says the cushioning is plush. It gave me calluses underneath my feet. I walk between 3 to 4.5 miles daily but because of the calluses, had to scale back to 2.5 to 3 miles.

This shoe is advertised as a stability shoe. It has little to zero stability, the H-frame type is no where near supportive as the J-frame The outer material is too flexible and offers no lateral/ankle support. Also, the mid foot stack height is too low for me so I got the feeling my forefoot is touching the ground. Not a good walking shoe, which was my purpose, buy I wouldn't run in this shoe unless you have a very rigid arched foot.

This was my second pair of Gaviota 5s. I still have the first pair, bought last year, and they're still serving as an emergency pair. The new pair began breaking down in just 3 weeks of wear! Noticeably excessive tread wear and separation of the material around one of the shoe lace eyelets, despite the shoes never getting wet. I decided to return them and purchase another pair of Bondi 9s as a replacement. Despite the success of my first pair, I wouldn't be able to recommend this model/style.

They're not as wide as they're made to seem. As much as I despise the durability, the bondi is a better shoe and I would hope more X-wide shoes are made in more styles and colors.

I've had three pairs of the three and my heels and feet hurt again. I wore the gaviota 4 for a long time and they were the best shoes I've ever worn. I run 5k, 10k, and triathlon races and the 5 has been nothing but trouble. I have a friend who runs with me as well and they have been having the exact same problem. The 4 corrected my feet and got rid of any and all foot/knee pain. Hoka switched up the support on the 5 and I've gone backwards. If you liked the 4 for foot/knee support I would not recommend the 5. The change in the support does not help.

A very good shoe made from mediocre materials. I am a daily walker and the soles of these shoes leave aa lot to be desired in the way of sturdiness. The tread is wearing down FAST. Very disappointed.
