White over blue on the sole makes them look much widerlike clown shoes. Even my husband agrees. Sorry folks

Very happy with this purchase. I do long neighborhood walks and so far these have been great. I have a little wear on the bottom, possibly from a couple light scuffs while getting used to the new weight/size from my previous shoes. I will keep an eye on that, but they appear to be very well made, light, and very stable.

Good shoes, a little hard to get adjusted at first. But once I wore them for a week, they are so comfortable.

Both me and my wife purchased your Hoka Bondi 8, they seem to have worn out fast. Comfortable, but the top portion of the heal has worn down to the foam?? And they did this in the very beginning. Both mine and my wife's. I bought the new ones, Graviotas I hope these do not wear the same. My wife may switch to a different brand soon. Too bad, she likes them!!!

These are a comfortable shoe , just not the heal cushion as the Bondi 8.

Comfort wise this is my go to when I know i'll be on my feet for a minimum of 12hrs for work. My only setback is one of the pull tabs on my shoe ripped off. Material not as good as the Gav 4. I normally buy wides when purchasing any Hoka shoes, but the size 9D in this Gav5 fit well for me. I also still use an older pair of the Gaviota 4 in a 2E. But this new model feels better. I've been using this pair for a few months now, and will do a follow up review.

I wear a 7.5 and not having worn HOKA before went to the size guide. It recommended a size 8.0. It arrived and was, well, a size 8.0. Too big. So, I sent it back for an exchange for the correct size. The size guide is not accurate.

A woman, I usually wear Brooks stability shoes (Naot, Birkenstock, and Mizz Mooz also), but I wanted to try Hoka because people seem to like them. I purchased the men's to get the D width. Really liked this shoe including the color which I know is not a reason to select a shoe but then again why are running shoes so hideous. Anyway. The shoe felt good but a little squishier than I'm used to and not as much stability as I probably need. Fine I was going to try it anyway because the fit was nice. However, the insert on the right shoe had a weird thing going on with the arch support and I knew I could never get used to it. It dug into my foot in an annoying way. I thought about adding an insert but I'd rather just have the right shoe. I thought about just ordering another of the same shoe but decided to go with the women's Arahi for more stability and it comes in wide. Also, one of the colors in that style is neutral-ish so that's a plus. (Note to designers: please understand that not all of us want flashy bright colors, neutrals are *in, and some of us are a ""warm" color season and we want that in a shoe.) I used the EU comparison for size on the recommendation of a friend who is a Hoka enthusiast. As a sometimes 40 and sometimes 41 the men's 8.5 fit perfectly. I would recommend this shoe it just wasn't for me.

I have a Rincon 3 in a 12.5 D that is extremely narrow even on my narrow feet. I bought an Arahi 6 in 12.5 2EE that fits perfect, but still wasn't plush enough for my use. I ordered the Gaviota 5 in 12.5 2EE and these are so wide it looks like clown shoes. I could put both my feet side by side in them. A plush shoe should be tighter due to the extra padding, not twice as wide as a race shoe with no padding. At least the length is consistent and the soles feel plush.

These shoes fit like a glove and provide support on every part of my foot. And when my feet feel good every part of my body feels better. I use for work running and walking all day every day. Hoka makes a difference. The only thing that could be improved is on wet pavement my Hoka's flip water up on the top for the shoe and soak my feet fast. My previous top brand running shoe somehow made soles that channeled water away from the toe keeping my feet much drier on wet days. Hopefully we can figure it out. But the quality, support, and comfort has me telling all my friends about Hoka

The support of the sole is great, with good cushioning and stability. One improvement would be to incorporate a stretch material is the upper (similar to Brooks running shoes) and these would be perfect.

I've been wearing Hokas since I purchased the Gaviota 3 some years ago. I have several pairs of Gaviota 4s and like them very much. The Gaviota 5 sems to have a larger toe area which is fine. However, over all they are not as comfortable as the Gaviota 4s.

Although I like the Gaviota 5, the fit is good, the colors are great, but it doesn't have the cushioning of the Bondi 7 or Bondi 8. I've gone through about six pairs of Bondi 7's and one pair of Bondi 8's. The Bondi 8 had plenty of cushion, but even though I got the normal width it's quite wide. I only bought the Gaviota 5 since the Bondi 7 is no longer available. However, it is a comfortable shoe and all my running and walking is done on pavement. But, I may have to go back to the Bondi 8, or whatever comes next, since it's all backordered

I'm not a fan of the mass trend towards all mesh uppers. The heel cup is good and solid, but the forefoot feels a bit sloppy. I prefer a bit more structure and snugness in mid-foot fit and I find myself fiddling with the lacing each run to find that happy feel. That said, it is a comfortable shoe and continues to deliver on pronation control, which is the primary reason for my buying them.

Ok, received an email to write a review. I've only had the shoes 2.5 weeks, so I'm not sure I've had them long enough top review yet. I have peripheral neuropathy and have been looking for shoes that i can wear while walking my dogs. Most of the time I go barefoot or wear recovery flip flops. About a 1/2 hour into our walks, my feet start burning. I have also tried different socks. Not much has helped, but these shoes feel more comfortable than others I've tried. They are definietyly lighter in weight which helps. There may be no help for me.
