Live the show I had to go 1/2 size up which isn't normal but they fit great. The "design" as you see in the photo is not very pronounced. It's just black and that design is a bit of a black shiny material. Disappointing

This is my second pair of G5s. I love them for the first two months or so but find they don't stand up well to a lot of walking mileage. And not just wear on the soles - the upper shoe starts to show signs of wear as well. In fairness, these are my all-day every-day shoes. But at this price point, I'd like to get more than three good months out of them.

Why did you send me a wide one. Everything is ok except too wide and it doesn't look nice to me.

I bought this shoe because I currently wear Bondi 8 and I really like them but I wanted a smaller shoe with the same support as the Bondi 8 but the Gaviota is not as plush, my mistake, but it does feel good in the beginning of wearing the shoe but as the day progresses my feet start hurting because I need more support. I'm always on my feet at work but when I work longer hours I can feel the difference between the two shoes.

Like everything about this shoe except I feel Hoka's QA could be better... I ordered a pair and in the toe box the fabric look loose w/ wrinkles and has a nonuniform look... Looks nothing like the photo on the web site. That said I would still recommend the shoe, it's very comfortable.

This is a loose, flex shoe. Would work for swollen feet or someone needing this particular construction. Very easy to wear around, walking or to the gym but I would not run in them.

I love these shoes as I'm a chronic low/back suffering person. It feels like walking on the clouds when they are new! However, they last ~ 200 miles of walking which is really disappointing! That means I need 6 pairs of them per year which not everyone can afford it please do something about it Hoka!

The size and fit is very good! Unfortunately, the material is very thin so it wears quickly and holes start forming in the toe area.

I have a bad knee. This shoe has good support. Not as soft as a Clifton. Order a size up from your regular size. All my Hoka's run smaller than my regular shoe.

This shoe felt great, but has a stiff piece of plastic in front of the toes that made it feel short. Cliftons and Arahis fit great; I would order a half size larger if you can (no 15.5 sadly)

Toe box not roomy enough, Bondi's are better for me. I planned on returning but not spending $50 on postage to send to England.

I'm a large heavy guy and this is my third or fourth pair of Gaviota. I have a 3 and 4 version in my garage that are very old and worn out. I had problems with the wear surface on the soles pulling off in 3 and 4 versions so I'm hoping Hoka got it better this time with version 5. The new version is a substantial change from the last two versions and the toe box is very prominent in the new version. The quality is generally okay maybe not the best on the market but still good overall. The support is outstanding in all versions 3, 4 and 5 for 2E wide for a 270 lbs 6-2 man with size 13 wide feet. I've tried the new ASICS Kayano and the front foot foam completely collapsed under the weight so I had to return those. The shoes get worn quickly and look all used up but I've worn my old pairs down until there is almost no tread remaining but the support has been very good and consistent throughout the life of the shoe. I've tried to find suitable alternatives but haven't really had any luck finding a better option that the Gaviota.

Love the color and looks but I feel like the Bondi 9 is more comfortable for my feet so I'll probably go back to those. Sloghtly too tight so I lossened the strings alot.

Very comfortable, but a little worried about the width. Don't want to "catch an edge" and trip.
