I have owned Stinson's, Bondi's and Speedgoat's. Never have experienced lace bite like I did on these Clifton's. Only owned them for three months. Tried to exchange for something more comfortable and was denied. Brutal....

I bought October of 2024 and have had 3 of the orange treads on the bottom rip off so far. I have ran in these shoes 3 times and use as a walking shoe mostly. I returned to Hoka for warranty exchange/repair and they said this was not covered as it was normal wear and tear. This is my 5th set of Hoka's and never has this happened on previous models. Granted this is my first pair of gortex. It would also be nice if they came in a wide option.

Purchased in October 2024. Shoe was extremely comfortable and was fully satisfied with the fit. By December 2024, parts of the sole began to peel off on both shoes. Requested an exchange and Hoka stated that the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. Keep in mind that these are not the only shoes I wear and I did not use them everyday for 2 months. If "normal wear and tear" means the shoe is supposed to start falling apart within 2 months, then this is a terrible product. I'd like to believe that this was just a one time manufacturing defect, but the customer service and warranty policy will prevent me from truly knowing.

This pair of HOKAs hurt my feet from the first time I pot them on and didn't stop hurting as a wore them around the house for one day. Over the past few years, I have purchased 7 pairs and this pair is the first that I am returning.

Shoes starts to fall apart within a week and a half. By the look of the parts falling off, they're lacking glue or pressure. Very disappointed about the warranty process. I have to pay for shipping and wait 6+ weeks for my shoes?

I have purchased 5 pairs of Hokas in 9.5 wide (3 Cliftons) which fits me perfect, my girlfriend bought me the Clifton 9 GTX in a 9.5 and then in a 10 but neither fit because it doesn't come in wide sizes and the same is true for all other GTX Hokas. Why, Why, Why??? Please make a Clifton GTX in wide sizes!
Disappointed,

These shoes are aerodynamic, light and comfortable. That being said, the orange pieces on the sole outside are peeling back. Very disappointed. Owned these shoes 2 months but haven't wore them that much and this is already happening.

I love Hoka's. Best shoes Bondi 8 exceptional comfort and value. Sadly the Clifton 9 GTX was way too small and had to return them. The fit was so poor I didn't even order another pair 1/2 or full size larger.

After 3 months of everyday wearing, right bottom sole came apart while playing with my dog on carpet. Looks like nearly zero glue was used. Super unimpressed.
Wish I could post a photo! DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES!!!

I asked almost every person I saw in a pair of Hokas about the fit and almost everybody said they loved them. Not the case for me the fit is/was nice for my wide size 14 however the ankle support was not there I have only had these shoes 3 weeks wore them maybe 10 times and the bottom started coming off so I initiated a warranty claim because I am out of the window for a return due to my non-member status which is understandable but in order to ship the defective product back I have to pay for my own postage now I have buyers remorse I will not be recommending and If/and when my warranty is approved I will more than likely gift the credit to someone ... something in me says the warranty process will take longer than I have own the shoes and I wont be satisfied with the outcome

I've been a long time Hoka user and my son just finished up the cross country season and is headed into basketball. I ordered these shoes for him for conditioning and everyday use October 21st and it is just now November 13th and one of the color pieces on the sole on the bottom of his shoes has already peeled off so he is back to wearing the same pair of brooks he ran the season in. I find this disappointing because for 2 pair of shoes i spent over $300 for poor quality shoes. I've never had this problem when I purchase the brand through an actual local shoe store, i will not be buying this brand again online because the quality seems to be cheaper for some reason.

We just opened the package last night AND the item we got was a pair of old, worn out, digusting, filthy men's shoes. We believe the Hoka shipper stole the brand-new pair of Hoka shoes, and placed his own filthy shoes in the box instead. This is beyond disgusting at the very least, and at worse a bio-hazard, and even after contacting them with all of this information and pictures, they refused to help. Their customer service is absolutely shameless.

I am a quintessential Nike fan - and this was the first time in decades I took the chance on another brand.
I heard good things about the shoes and decided to take the plunge.
My first disappointment was getting a size 16 when I am almost 100% positive I ordered my usual size 11. Of course it is possible that I pressed the wrong button and I did not look closely at the order confirmation which highlighted it would be size 16. But I have never had to do that before in all my years ordering Nike online.
The other issue has been the return - it took Hoka's website 2 full days to help - their system was down, and eventually they offered to repay me for delivery (3$ less than what USPS eventually took the shoes back for).
In the meantime out of frustration I ordered and got new Nikes - no hitches - after starting this process with Hoka. Warning it takes them 5 - 10 business days after the shoes get back to only give store credit.
Needless to say I was not impressed with this service and caution others.

So..I wrote a review saying I would not buy or reccomend this shoe because Hoka was not making a wide or extra wide GTX shoe anymore. Your response was certain style shoes/models were no longer waterproof. It's not just this style though that is no longer in wide widths. You now only make one style GTX in a wide or extra wide width and not only is it ugly it is never in stock. Question: Is that because its always sold out because of demand or are you just not making any? If its because of demand it seems like you would take notice and increase production and add more styles. You also wrote and I quote unlace the shoes and replace them to let the shoe fit your feet. I wear a size 48 suit jacket, maybe I should buy a size 46, un button it and rebutton it to make it looser so it will fit. Now I know that won't work but I suggest you try it and see if you get anymore room. You bought out Hoka and you are doing the same thing you did when you bought out Teva. You are dropping the better and wider line shoe wear. Loosing many customers along the way. Hoka was originally a shoe company from Hawaii and many islanders have wide feet so a huge company buys them out and immediately destroys the brand. I know you must profit and maybe there aren't as many sales for wide shoes but you are losing a market share and loyal customers by ostracizing and entire group of people.

I bought these shoes for my son in May 2024. He used them for work since he is on his feet all day. He loved them, but this month, October 2024, they developed a clean rip on the right side of the right shoe where the material separated from the sole. I started a warranty claim with Hoka and sent the shoes back to them. I tried to follow up with them, but they couldn't track it with their return number. They need the UPS tracking number of my shipment, which I had misplaced.
Low and behold, I got the shoes sent back to me by Hoka. They said they couldn't honor the warranty because it had expired. It's a 1-year warranty. I called support and they still couldn't track using their own number. They wanted the original UPS tracking number. When I finally got support to understand that Hoka sent the shoes back, they said no one can oppose the warranty department, not even a supervisor. I asked for a supervisor and all I got was, "We will take your info and someone will get back to you in 24 hours." They don't want to let you talk to anyone nor will they give you any kind of tracking number for support cases.
These shoes are expensive for such poor, disorganized customer service. I would be very wary of spending any money on them.

What has happened to Hoka ?? Answer is new owners.
Hoka no longer makes a a wide or extra wide GTX mens shoe.
Well they do make one that they are always out of and is ugly as sin. I have finally wore my Hokas out but as they are no longer making a shoe that fits me I'm going back to New Balance. My Hokas felt better and lasted longer but Hoka has decided not to make wide GTX shoes anymore from the looks of it. Oh.. and when you speak to Hoka on the phone their response is well..just go up a size or two. My question for Hoka staff is if you wear pants with a 30 waist do you buy a 32. Or if you wear a size 2 dress do you ask for a size 3? It's worse with shoes that don't fit, I went through this as a kid and my feet always hurt.

I am very dissatisfied with this purchase, I bought my first hoka for my husband and me in 2021 and they are in better condition than the ones we bought this year in April, they broke inside and this really makes me feel very disappointed with the quality

I bought my original pair of shoes from Alamo shoes in Chicago on 4/6/24. They were GREAT but by June 23rd, the bottom soles had started to come apart. HOKA said i'd have to pay for shipping to them to 'assess if it's covered under warranty'. I have to pay to have it looked at? They should be paying postage.
I was LUCKY enough to have them replace the shoes despite being outside of store warranty. I had them replaced 6/25/24. Same exact shoe + size. It is now 8/8/24 and I have had the EXACT SAME issue with this pair of shoes as well, Just a different area of the shoe. I would NOT RECOMMEND these shoes, and if it's indicative of HOKA as a whole, I wouldn't ever buy them again.

The soles on the bottom of the sneakers started to peel off after less than one month of use and I wasn't even using them for running/working out. I was disappointed in the quality of this shoe for the price I paid for it.

I genuinely had high hopes for Hoka in terms of durability considering their price-point for shoes but man was I put to the floor. I've been wearing these shoes for 4 months as my daily, keeping them clean and highly maintained. Don't get my wrong these are the best shoes I have ever had in terms of being comfortable, it even made the pains in my feet go away and it feels natural walking in these but man let me tell you don't waste your money on this load of crap, the gore-tex baloney doesn't even fit the memo either considering now the edges of both pairs of shoes without rubbing the edges at all where the images show have begun to rip from the sole of the shoe. Just really disappointed and I will not be spending my money on a pair of Hokas again.

The left shoe bottom tread pealed off less than a week of use and less than 4 miles. The right shoe was fine. Customer service less than desired, they requested to send the shoes back for them to examine before they could determine if they could reissue new shoes. This would put me out of shoes for a significant period of time. Due to lack of customer service, I just chose to return them and go back to ASICS.
I think how ever the left shoe was manufactured there was a flaw (e.g. ran out of heat, lacked glue, etc). It's perplexing a company like this would make it such a hassle for a customer to get a replacement shoe. The lack of customer service made me believe the original problem is probably bigger than I originally thought.
