Extremely disappointed with the jacket. I bought it under the assumption is was a three season jacket but it turn out to more a summer item. It is so light weight and the so called flannel lining is just a description as it is NOT flannel at all. Totally disappointed coming from L.L. Bean. Needless to say, I will not be buying anything from you again!

This is just a wind breaker...not worth the $99. I was hoping it would be like the old squall jackets! So sad LLBean!

Lining was very lightweight, more twill than flannel, not the expected heavy LL Bean flannel of their shirts. I returned the jacket. Very disappointed in the quality.

It is always difficult to find a jacket that works for Houston's weather. I wanted a jacket that would handle Houston's winter weather. While generally above freezing, when it gets cold here, it tends to be windy and damp. I thought this jacket that claimed to be a windbreaker and lined with flannel would be perfect for those blustery, damp days. Boy, this jacket is not what I was looking for. The flannel is thin, not even what I consider flannel. Certainly, it is nothing like a 40-year old Bean flannel shirt I still wear. The jacket, despite the description on the Bean website, lets the wind blow right through it. While not absolutely awful, the color is more of a bright olive green, not the muted brownish moss I thought I was ordering. Finally, the exterior fabric is very noisy when walking and moving your arms as it crinkles and makes a noticeable swishing sound. Bean's description was accurate in one thing: it is not bulky. Overall, this jacket would be perfect for a cool day with no wind or dampness or rain, but it is not what I thought it would be. Unfortunately, Houston's fickle weather did not give me enough time to evaluate it within the return window.

If you look up the definition of "flannel" in the dictionary this probably matches. But what most of us think of flannel is a soft, warm cotton fabric like the LL Bean shirts or blankets. The lining of this jacket is slick, cardboard like and not soft or warm. This jacket does however make a good windbreaker. That's about it.
No photo can show what this jacket really is. I called LL Bean customer service and they tried to convince me the lining was flannel. Obviously, they had never felt the lining or compared it to the feeling of "real" flannel.

I was expecting a much more substantial jacket. It is essentially a thin nylon shell, with an extremely thin flannel lining, and a small, difficult to engage zipper. I am very disappointed, since I have purchased LLB stuff for years, and this is far below the quality of what I am accustomed to. I will return it. It does annoy me that I will have to pay return shipping for such a poor quality item!

Absolutely NOT flannel lined. Just a print of a very muddled flannelesque pattern. Truly not up to the Bean standard we expect.Props to Bean for the quick return but I am concerned that this kind of false description is acceptable to them.

The "flannel" lining feels more like light polyester than the a flannel shirt. Never owned a real flannel shirt that thin with no softness. Adds no warmth to the jacket at all. Only suitable for colder temps if you wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. Fine for a warm spring day in the upper 50's, low 60's, but not a cold, blustery rainy day. Collar was wrinkled in the middle during manufacturing, so it's always flipping up in the back too. The "flannel", though, is not a one off. It's just cheap. I'd ask for my money back, but it was a gift & I don't have a receipt.
