Customer Reviews L.L.Bean Waxed Canvas Tote Bag Medium

I did like the style of the bag and I really liked the lining design inside. However I did not like the way the material on the outside had marks all over it. It came in the mail and I returned it right away. I have a coat made with this wax like material and it does not mark up like this. I hope to find a tote that will work better for me.

It was out of the package no more than 5 minutes and I knew it was not the tote for me. The bag scratched up easily. I guess I really didn't know what waxed canvas was. My bad.

I was surprised to receive a bag that looks nothing like the picture. The gray is very dark leaving almost no contrast to the very dark navy straps. The bag itself looks like its been wadded up and rung out. Perhaps I didn't understand what waxed canvas would look like when ordering but I won't be carrying it for anything except perhaps as a reusable shopping bag. I usually love my llbean purchases but this product is a big disappointment.

Product is made in Vietnam and imported, not in USA like the rest of Bean's totes. I plan on returning and buying a custom boat and tote instead. This should be clearly marked on the product details page. We have many totes and this is vastly different in quality than those.
