I love these socks! First two pairs were great so I bought 3 more last winter and 2 more this winter. They are ideal for the person who has to travel outdoors to work, but then is inside all day. The midweight is not too hot, and is very comfortable for office work. The medium size is true. I read some complaints here about "pinching" at the top, but I find that to be minimal and I like the snug, comfy fit while pulling them on after each wash. Because of the wool content, I recommend hang dry and they'll likely last for years.

Socks are very warm. Wash well and little to no shrinkage.

I was looking for a reasonable well made warm wool sock that would fit my 9 year old son. This works well.

Just the right thickness for boots or just wearing stocking-foot around the house. They are not itchy at all and the toes and heel areas are double thickness. They are so warm and comfy that I purchased more for gifts.

A nice comfortable, all purpose pair of winter socks. Have various merino wool socks, thicker, thinner, fluffier, dressier, but good to have some that are simply comfy and warm.

I bought these when I bought my bean boots. I have a high cold tolerance, so the medium weight was warm enough for my bean boots without overheating my feet. I wore them in the bean boots when it was -7 degrees F and did not get too hot nor too cold.

First ordered these socks years ago and they have held up very well. Some clothing stores have noticeably lower quality today for the same item, but the ones I just ordered are just as well made as those from years ago. Glad to see L. L. Bean is sticking to quality.

Paired with new hiking boots. Thought I wouldn't like wool as they are scratchy. However after wearing them in boots and shoes they actually do wick away the foot sweat so your feet do stay much warmer. My go to sock now for outside and nighttime too. Scratchiness not a problem at all.

These are my favorite winter socks! By far the warmest socks I own.

Yummy warmth. Great to sleep in or wear under boots. I wore 2 pairs out already. I love them. I am allergic to wool but these socks are so soft and not itchy at all. I currently have 3 pairs in size large as i wear a size 10 shoe. I got them in a variety of colors.i would recommend them to a friend for sure.
