These winter socks fit well and the colors are a nice neutral tone. The socks kept there shape after washing and did not shrink. At least not that I have noticed.
I work part of the day in a cold warehouse and these socks fit well with sneakers. They also feel a bit cushion-y. I do not get the feeling that my feet are sweating like I do when I wear socks that contain a lot of wool.
I do find with winter socks, they seem just a slight bit "fuzzy" after being laundered. That's why I only gave the item four stars.
If these socks contain wool, and I don't recall if they do, that would explain the slight fuzziness.

These socks are totally soft and comfy on the inside, and have a "tough" outer layer that will likely hold up well to wear, a good quality if you like to wear boot socks around the house like slippers. I only tried them on after washing and drying according to instructions, and the large seems a bit on the short side. I wear an 11 women's and have fairly thin feet, so I was surprised. The width at the toe seems rather generous. I stretched them a bit and will keep them out of the dryer in the future. They are different than the LL Bean boot socks I bought years ago (6 pairs) that have finally all worn out but lasted a really long time; these are softer on the inside and tougher on the outside. Overall a good sock.

I purchased two pairs of the L.L.Bean boot sock three years ago and they are excellent. I went to the nearby store in Marlton and they did not have the socks in stock so I ordered three new pairs (@ $20.00 a pair) online. The quality of the stocks I received is not quite the same, or as good, as the socks I already had. Specifically, the large brown stitching at the end of the new socks, right over the toes, is an imperfect line. Nevertheless, the socks are great but not the same five star standard that I've become accustomed to when buying L.L.Bean products.

If...yer like me (Big Feet) then you know what a pain it is to find sox that go on easily. These sox in XL will do that for me, AND remain very comfortable all day and all evening without the boots. I just ordered 3 more pair because they were also on sale. If these sox were offered in a "slightly" lighter version, for hotter weather I would rate them at 5 stars, and have some of each. I'd say to any of my friends...Buy these Sox!

I now own three pairs of these sox. Very comfortable right from the start. Maybe a little heavy for hot weather...but here on the central coast of CA they seem to work well all year. If they offered these same sox in a slightly lighter version, I would rate them at 5 stars given the choice of either.

I ordered these to wear with Crocs.I thought they might be more comfortable than my thinner wool socks. My instinct was right .I will have to buy a few more pairs before winter comes. I especially like the design of the toe. No seam to get twisted the wrong way and rub against the toes.

I ordered two pair for Christmas and was very pleased with the quality of the socks. Unfortunately one pair had a hole in them so I returned it right away. The replacements are on back order, The pair I am using are nice and cushy and keep my feet warm in my LL Bean low cut hunting boots. Perfect for Spring and Fall boat fishing.

They fit well and keep your feet warm. I got them on sale, otherwise they are a bit pricey.

The item arrived in time for Christmas, although it was ordered at the last minute. The socks looked very good, and very much pleased the recipient.

Good buy and very warm. They run small, so order one size up.

Love your socks .... I've been buying them for years. Now I buy them for my kids too.
My only negative comment would be the price. I think your "regular" price could come down a little.

Quality sock with plush lining. The generic sizings are inaccurate. The socks are small and narrow for the size. This is partly due to the thick lining. If you are inbetween sizes or have a wider foot choose the larger size. If your foot is narrow or low volume the given sizings will be snug. My shoe size is 11.5 E and the XL (12-15) fits very well, not over-sized at all. The L (8-12) would have been uncomfortably tight.

I never thought there would be a sock I would consider too thick...But this one takes the cake...I cant really wear these because they are too bulky. nice color, nice quality..But when LLBean says these are their thickest...really belive them!
I appreciate the quality though.

I've been wearing these socks now for maybe 15 years and I still love them. I know of no other sock anywhere, for any price, that is as comfortable as these are, period.
OK, on to the few drawbacks that I have with these. They do not wear terrible well and the price is higher than I think it should be, simple as that.
They usually wear (thin out) first in the back of heel area (not the bottom) and I have many pair that the heel is almost thread bare and the rest of the sock is in good shape. I hate throwing them out because of this. As I wear many different types of shoes and boots, I have ruled out any specific heel issues of shoes I wear. As I am not in the business of making yarn for socks I have no advice here, only that it would be great if the heel would last longer. My sense is a year or so is what to expect if you rotate your socks. I usually buy 4-6 pair at a time and I might see them start to wear in less than a year. I think that's too short a time for the value, but I pay it anyway because I cant find anytihng more comfortable than these. I also have both colors and they wear the same. Thats about it!!

I received these socks as a present from my mother after I read rave reviews about them (and was told by a saleswoman that these are the socks to have to keep your toes warm, and that they also go with the boots I recently purchased as well.) When I got them as a gift, I was so pleased. They're very thick, and have a soft coating on the inside of them which keeps your feet feeling luxurious, not itchy. These are socks for men, but I'm a woman, and I wear a shoe sized from 7-8. These socks are too big for me. The sizing on the package was for a shoe size from 6-10, but they are very baggy, especially in the toe area. The socks are so warm, that my toes actually get too hot when being indoors, which is actually nice, because I plan on wearing these on my outdoor occasions for chilly days, so I know my toes will be toasty. I'm just bummed about them being a little baggy, because they're uncomfortable to walk around in the house without shoes on to keep them in place. I do like my socks tighter on my feet. The width doesn't bother me (they're slightly wide for a woman's foot) but the length makes it feel awkward.
Also, I bought the Khaki/Green colored socks, and something I noticed that wasn't in the photo is the L.L.Bean logo on the toe. I think it adds a nice touch.

these socks are as advertised- thick, like two pairs in one, and at a great price.

i wish they fit! really nice sock. for my women's size 10 foot, the Medium sock is too short. i just sent it back and asked them to replace with size Large, and to send an extra pair with it.
pricey, but i believe you get what you pay for: i'm still wearing the expensive pair i purchased in a sport's store in 2007.

Very soft and warm. I wear a size 7.5 wide shoe and ordered the medium size and the socks fit very nicely. The socks are thick, so that needs to be considered when buying them to wear with boots are shoes. I wear them around the house without shoes, so it is not an issue for me.

These are great socks: functional, warm, and comfortable. Problem is that the ladies in my life keep stealing them to wear as slippers! One gripe - they "pill" a little after several washes.

I got these socks using a coupon so am enjoying them but otherwise find the price high. They are warm, wick moisture away, and are soft and cushy. Can be worn only in shoes with room for thick socks. They wash and dry in drier well. Nice room in the toe area, not too big not too tight. Go for it!

The socks are 10 inches in length, thick good sucks, warm socks, HOWEVER IF YOU WEAR THEM IN YOUR BOOTS ALL DAY LONG, THEY WILL SWEAT. These socks have wool and nylon. These socks have ZERO cotton.

Could be a 5 star pick if it had less synthetic material. The sock needs at least 90% wool or perhaps 80% wool and 10% cotton. The 20% nylon and coolmax allows the foot to move around in the shoe too much, otherwise a very good product.
